I recently dined at Ming Dining for the first time, and while the experience had its highlights, it ultimately left me with mixed feelings. The atmosphere at Ming Dining is undoubtedly one of its strongest points. The decor is tastefully done, blending modern elegance with subtle traditional touches. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a pleasant setting for an evening out. Additionally, the restaurant offers numerous spots perfect for capturing some great photos, which adds a nice touch to the dining experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the expectations set by the ambiance. The dishes were decent, but for the price, they were underwhelming. I found that they lacked the depth and flavor one might expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The Mapo Tofu, in particular, was disappointing. It wasn't as spicy as it should have been, and it lacked the authentic taste that this classic dish is known for. Given its price point, I was hoping for something more memorable. Overall, while Ming Dining offers a beautiful setting and an inviting atmosphere, the food falls short of the mark, especially given the price. If you're looking for a place with a nice ambiance for photos, this might be a good spot. However, if your primary focus is on the quality and authenticity of the food, there might be better options elsewhere. Overall, my experience was just okay.

Ming was perfect for a long team lunch. So many wonderful options across all price ranges. The express lunch was amazing value. Black truffle fried rice is a must have, and the petit fours a divine ending to a great meal. Tony is a wonderful host.

I really like their elegant environment, delicious food and considerate service. Having a party at their place is very atmospheric and it is definitely my first choice for dining.

The service was slow a little even though there was only one couple in the restaurant for most of the time. We were there mainly for the happy hour oysters which ordered two dozen of and they were so fresh they were very tasty. Most of the cocktails were yummy too. We then ordered some food and the waitress told us not enough food and now we know why?! The xiao long bao were small as was the pancake so was the prosciutto and the duck breast which was in the Big section at $52 was definitely small so we ordered some chicken and prawn dumplings which were super small. We definitely had room for desert so we ordered 2 of the chai tea creme brulee which were a good size but it was like scrambled eggs. We paid and left and won’t rush back well maybe yes only for the happy hour oysters and that’s if we are in the area.

Wonderful Asian fusion place. The prawn toast is amazing and it's the best prawn toast I've ever had in Melbourne. The beef short ribs and duck breast are delicious! A very special place for an exclusive dining experience:)
