Mille Lire promises a constantly-changing menu of regional Italian cuisine. And is a nod to “la dolce vita,” or “the sweet life,” of Chef Matarese's childhood in Italy. Diners can look forward to antipasti, along with pizzas fired in an Italian oven and pastas made fresh daily with an imported pasta-maker. Entrees include chianti-braised short ribs, diver scallops with cauliflower puree, octopus, and much more.
A full menu of beer, wine, and hand-crafted cocktails will keep diners from going thirsty. A curated wine list features the best expressions of Italian regions that perfectly pair with Chef Giuliano's creations.

Food is good but service not up to par.
This restaurant is truly a gem in the heart of the city. It should be busier since the food is fantastic and the service is even better.
I made this reservation for friends in town from NYC! They raced about it, met the chef, etc. good wine list. The enjoyed their experience so much that they will return. Ext year when they are in town and host a dinner party there!
We love the food and atmosphere here. The whole staff is friendly and attentive. Victoria always makes sure our service is extraordinary.
Mille Lire is a beautiful restaurant with personable staff. They are fairly new, so you might not have heard about them quite yet but you definitely should check it out soon! $3 Prosecco bar for weekend brunch! Cheers
The baked oysters were awesome and the watermelon and feta salad was excellent. We ordered the Cappelletti and Spaghetti Calabresi and the spaghetti was just a tad too al dente but the flavor was fantastic. For dessert had the vanilla panacotta. It was served with the toasted coconut but the chocolate ganache was left off so the server brought us a mini pitcher of the ganache to pour over which was excellent. Highly recommend.
One of our favorites. The food is to die for, and the onsite sommelier makes the experience that much more special. Pricy, but worth every penny.
Started out but not having any record of our reservation, even though I made it through opentable and showed them the reservation on my app upon arrival. My party of 6 was then sat on the bar and not on the dining room. While they did give us HH prices on our first round of drinks because of the mix-up, I still was not happy with our table location. Food and service were fine. The calamari to start was really good. Meatballs were a good show and tasty, pasta somewhat stuck together and became slightly congealed after a while. Fish dishes were good.
A restaurant that is out-thinking itself. Menu items are gimmicky. Good italian cuisine doesn't need to rely on the chef's 'imagination' for every dish (like, say, Tiramisu with strawberries in it). Waiter was very nice but didn't know the menu. Overall experience did not even come close to the pricing.
We are impressed with the chef's ability to use the latest fresh ingredients to make wonderful innovative changes to the menu. We look forward to seeing "what's next". This week it was grilled cantaloupe and prosciutto , grilled watermelon and feta and stuffed squash blossoms among others. Tuesday night is 1/2 price wine night and we took advantage by getting our favorite "Barbi" Brunello that was outstanding. ML has added a well educated and "fun" sommelier who will assist with the excellent wine list. While we love to see what is new on the menu - we nearly always order the same entrees because we find they are consistently excellent. BTW: Parking is provided in the building for free and what appears to be a problem isn't.
After making reservations for September 2nd, we showed up to find the restaurant closed. Very disappointing that the restaurant’s reservation opportunities did not reflect their true hours.
The ambiance is stellar. We dined for brunch on a Saturday and we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. The server informed me that this was his first week and he was very unfamiliar with the menu, specifically the Prosecco bar. The food was delicious and we tabbed out. This is where things went south. I checked my bank account days later and our server added $50 to my $10 tip making it a $60 tip on a $56 tab. I immediately called the restaurant and the manager said he’d research and get back with me. He called back and verified that indeed the amount was not correct and he would reimburse the extra $60+ that was charged to my card. No apology which was odd to me. I asked how they plan to retain me as a customer and his response ‘I’ll talk to the chef’. Never heard from them again. Horrible business practice and likely explains why the restaurant was empty.
We are sincerely sorry about your negative experience with us. Lack of communication among our staff has caused such an inconvenience. We would be delighted to talk to you in private at your earliest convenience. Grazie.
We went here to celebrate my husbands birthday-great service, and good authentic Italian food!
The food was amazing!! Great recommendations by our server. Wonderful atmosphere. We will come back again.
The food was absolutely delicious! A great evening including complimentary Prosecco and dessert for our anniversary. Definitely will return.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
Food and service was AMAZING. However, we arrived purposely an hour before our reservation to sit at the bar to have a drink. We were then asked to please move to our table immediately- it was not an option. Overall not a big deal. Unfortunately though they put us in the middle of 3 large parties where we could not hear anyone at our own table. After a while we asked we could sit at any of the other empty tables in another part of the restaurant. We were allowed to move, and it was night and day difference in noise. No small parties should be sat in their party room without warning.
I had lunch at Mille Lire a couple of months ago and found the lamb meatballs to be outstanding. I ordered them again in entree size and they just weren't as good. My husband's gnocci was just too rich. Watermelon salad was good. The atmosphere and service were both wonderful. I'll come back and give the happy hour a try.
The food and the service was excellent although the noise level was very high which made it very difficult to hear everyone at the table. I would definitely go back for the food!
Food was fabulous, pasta entree the best I’ve had outside of Italy
Every time we dine here it is as good or even better than our last visit. It is our favorite Dallas restaurant and we drive in from the 'burbs to eat here. They made our 31st wedding anniversary so special this week. The crab and asparagus pasta is my wife's favorite, and the oysters and cacio e pepe (simple pasta with cheese and pepper sauce) are both flawless. We love this restaurant (and hope the squid-ink pasta returns soon!)
They couldn’t find out reservation at first and the front desk lady was rude about it until she found our reservation then her attitude change & right when we walked in our waiter was cussing and extremely unprofessional and rude . The manager tried to make things up for our first time experience . Overall i would recommend the food if it was a different restaurant but the customer service needs improvement.
Our experience at Mille Lire was odd to say the least. We love to hit up local hot spots for dinner regularly, and after recently having cocktails at Mille Lire, I was excited to get the full experience for my birthday dinner last Saturday night.
The reservation was set for 8:30 and we arrived about 10 minutes early to an empty hostess stand. After standing around for about 5 minutes with no sign of anyone, my husband went to ask. Shortly after, the hostess came out of the kitchen with a mouth full of food and got us checked in and seated.
Once seated, about 5 minutes passed before our waiter frantically ran by the table asking what kind of water we wanted and explained that he would be back shortly. 10 more minutes went by and we were able to flag down someone who looked like the manager- but I'm not sure... We let him know that we would like to order drinks and some food. He apologized, and helped us select a bottle of wine. After that we talked about the menu, and were corrected several times on our attempts at Italian pronunciation. My husband asked about an appetizer that he was interested in and was told by this person that our wine would not pair with it and that we shouldn't order it.
The appetizers that we selected were great! Our review of the food itself during our entire meal was flawless, and I have no complaints there.
Once we finished our appetizers, we wanted to share a couple of entrees between the table, and at this point our bottle of wine and glasses were all empty for a while, and we once again were trying to get someone's attention. We got a couple of pasta entrees to share (again, fantastic), and once we were done, we had to flag down the waiter again in order to get the check. It was my birthday, and my husband had told the manager guy that at the beginning of the meal, but the waiter was in such a rush that no dessert was offered to us. We paid and left.
My recommendation is to go and sit at the bar for great service.
Food was great, cool dining room, bar was nice and drinks were good.
Our server was a weirdo who kept touching our glasses to move them closer to each other? Maybe he's an ADA hire and has crippling OCD? He was also just a jerk. The manager came over twice to resolve the one problem we had: 2/3 of our party ordered off the restaurant week menu, 1/3 didn't. He really didn't like this special circumstance.
I have no time for garbage service in Dallas.
We were very excited to try this restaurant. Our reservations were at 7:30. They didn’t seat us til 8pm...that’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine! We got a drink at the bar before being seated, and the bar tender seemed generally bothered every time we asked him a question. Waitress and manager told us about how great the chef was and that he came from a Michelin restaurant from NY...so we had high expectations. Waitress knew very little about menu items. My husband added crab to his pasta and it came out without crab. Took the waitress 10 minutes to come check on our dishes. She took my husbands dish back to kitchen to add crab and it came back with 3 pieces. By this time my dish is completely cold. They keep the restaurant like a meat locker...FREEZING. There was another waiter in the restaurant that had the most rude attitude with his tables and everyone around could hear. Panacotta for dessert tasted like something from a nursing home...oh and it took about 15 minutes and the hostess ended up having to bring it.
DON’T waste your time with this restaurant. Fearing’s and The Mansion are MUCH better
Had a great meal - originally went for Restaurant Week, but the regular menu had food we were more interested in. The somm has a lot of knowledge about the wines on the menu and helped us pick a great bottle. Only wish it was a little quieter since it is certified as an authentic Italian restaurant.
Had a great night with Jared but the real gem is that they hired Roger, a great sommelier, because I simply don't know Italian wines very well. The food was simply fantastic, so everyone involved should be proud. See you again Chef Giuliano in 4 weeks!
Mille Lire rocks! Great, open atmosphere with great service and great food. And, a great parking situation. What the hell else do you want??
It’s a nice place and the food was decent but not great. My entree was 2 raviolis and my husband’s skirt steak that he asked to be medium rare was medium well. For the money, I wouldn’t go back.
Amazing — The food was magnificent, the staff was extremely friendly. The atmosphere or ambiance was very homey, I would definitely would recommend this place.
It was great. Went during restaurant week, but ordered off the regular dinner menu. It was delicious pasta. The lamb meatball appetizer was also great. Will be going back.
Visited for Restaurant Week....Service was excellent, and I'm always glad to see new staff 'shadowing' experienced help to learn the standards of the restaurant.....Food choices were limited for the event, but excellent nonetheless. The Chef made an appearance, and was both gracious and helpful in understanding both the food, and the nature of the restaurant. Looking forward to a repeat visit!
The food is delicious- tastes just like you are in Italy! The sommelier knows his stuff and picked the perfect pairing for our meal. Will definitely go back!
Amazing food. Truly Italian. Chef Giuliano does an amazing job. The ambiance is very nice and service is impeccable
First time trying this place. Food was delicious. We had the fritto misto, gnocchi, & fettuccine. All fresh tasting. They seem to be a bit short staffed. Waiters seemed a bit harried and food took longer than it should have to be served. The noise level is quite high. Lots of Highland Parkers. Interesting people watching. Free garage parking. Would go back.
Meh... This is an adequately good traditional Italian restaurant, but it definitely doesn’t get a Michelin star rating from me. The menu is standard fare and dated, with simple Italian dishes cooked well. After reading the reviews about the chef, I was expecting more. For an American clientele, especially in Texas, this probably is outstanding. For an Italian foodie, it left me disappointed. Great service and the ambiance is nice. One last observation is about the vegan meal the chef sent to our table for my wife. A plate of simply grilled vegetables. Again, for a “Michelin star” chef, underwhelming. I’ll end like i started: meh...
Mille Lire was recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint! Service was exceptional! David, was our server, and did an excellent job. He was friendly and attentive. Be sure to speak with Roger, the sommelier, who is very knowledgeable and friendly. He made excellent wine pairing suggestions for each course at dinner. The house made truffled burrata with roasted figs to start was amazing. The house made pasta was the best we have ever had.!All ingredients were fresh. We will definitely visit this restaurant again!
I can’t wait to return to Mille Lire. The menu was well thought out, and each item was unique, flavorful, and just enough. We had an exceptional experience. The staff was also knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely attentive. This dining experience did not disappoint.
Food was amazing. Ambience was great. Staff was fabulous. Can not say enough great things about it! Will definitely return soon!
Went to celebrate my sister going back to school. It took a long time for our appetizer to come out and it was difficult to get attention from our waitress. Otherwise, delicious and a very cute location!
