Milicia is a small and intimate trattoria tucked away in the centre of Ulverstone. The interior has been specifically designed to create warmth and the feeling of being abroad with classic rendered walls, terazzo bench tops and handmade timber tables. Street dining is also available should you chose to soak up the atmosphere of the town.

Milicia presents and small yet delectable menu with everything from slow fermented pizza’s to rustically plated handmade pasta. All made in-house using traditional family recipes giving diners an opportunity to indulge in traditional Italian food with a specific selection of local wines and beers to match. The menu at Milicia is a fantastic example of local produce being used to create an authentic Italian experience using only the finest Tasmanian ingredients.

    Managed to grab a last minute table, sat down in a cute little restaurant with a nice bar/counter. Table/cutlery was clean, limited but good wine and beer selection. I had Canneloni, which was delicious, arrived in a timely manner via attentive but not too over the top wait staff. My wife had seafood pasta, and loved it. This restaurant is a little gem, well worth the visit. We will be back!

    We enjoyed our meal. Food was well prepared and nicely presented. Service was efficient and attentive once we were seated. Initial impressions weren’t brilliant as we entered the restaurant unsure of where our booked table was. Rather than greeting us and taking us to our table, the two waitresses stood behind the bar and shouted across the floor asking us if we were “ok”? We had to tell them that we did indeed have a booking and they then pointed at a table. From then on, things improved. We can forgive the slightly odd initial impression and will return for the tasty food.
