About Mignonette Uptown
Chef Daniel Serfer, a Miami native, opened two restaurants in his home town - Blue Collar in 2012 and Mignonette in 2014. Serfer didn't always aspire to be a chef, let alone a restaurateur with a flagship at a hooker motel. His goal was to be a criminal defense attorney but while studying for the LSAT he realized his inspiration came from cooking and not the law. Danny’s cooking is from-scratch, straightforward and delicious. Serfer is able to oscillate between casual American comfort food and elegance with ease, and his restaurants reflect his no frills, full flavor attitude.

Mignonette Uptown Ratings and Reviews
We have had dinner here, but never lunch, so this was a first time. In addition to our party of 4 there were only two other tables of 2, so reservations were really not necessary. Service was great, attentive and friendly. Food was good as well. One of our party felt ill later in the afternoon. Unknown if it was the fish or something else, but it was an odd coincidence. Anyway we will come for dinner again.
Nice surprise in NMB. This is an old diner turned into an authentic and fun lunch/dinner spot specializing in fresh seafood and fish. The quality of the food and ingredients were above and beyond our expectations. We wouldn't hesitate tor recommend it and return again.
Absolutely Delicious! I was looking for a restaurant near an event I was attending and Mignonette appeared in the search feature. As a first time visitor, with no knowledge of what to expect, it did not disappoint. My friend and I chose the Miami Spice menu. Each course and accompanying wine was outstanding. I will definitely return and next time order the oysters.
Not exactly a twin to the original in regards to quality or service! My fish was dry though nicely seasoned. As we were finishing our meal, our server walked up to announce the total amount of the check! Not sure I've ever encountered that previously and I was hosting a business lunch making it a little uncomfortable.
This is my third visit to Mignonette. Again, food was amazing. Plain Branzino is excellent as are the clams casino. Sides amazing as well- had french fries this time- so good. Service was excellent also- Nice wines as well. Can't say enough about this restaurant. Always a great meal.
Great mimosas during brunch... crab, lobster and lox latkes were very tasty but too much for one meal. Took one home for hubby to enjoy. We were there on a Sunday around 2:30 - they ran out of lobster rolls which I heard is a common thing... next time we'll get there earlier... lobster rolls there are highly recommended!
We enjoyed the Miami Spice menu on Saturday night. They presented the Spice menu with their main menu, they did not require us to ask for it like so many other restaurants do, which I find annoying. The food was delicious, our server was knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list, and was very attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.
Food was very good, especially the crab cakes..One of the diners ordered from the Spice menu.
The grouper was excellent, however , the portion was extremely small. Mentioned that to the waiter, and was told that because Spice is a promotion the portion is smaller. This portion was shockingly smaller. We haven't experienced that at any other Spice restaurant this August. We weren't looking for any kind of credit, just wanted to let the restaurant know that we were not happy about that.
The place was empty and they still asked if I had a reservation, I did ,but no one came in after me and that was at 7:40
They don't charge but they don't ask if you want Bread- stupid
We ordered king crab cocktail and I highly doubt it was king crab very small very expensive
And our entrées looked very under whelming, small portions, even though it did have a nice flavor
It's a diner the Faces Biscayne Blvd., Way overpriced would not recommend
We were looking to satisfy our craving for lobster rolls. Thanks to Open Table we discovered this place. The lobster and the rolls were delectable. Located in a diner on Biscayne Boulevard, the restaurant not only has great seafood -- oysters, mussels, branzino, etc -- but buttermilk fried chicken, which will be my order next time I am there, which I hope will be soon. The sides are yummy and those who don't like seafood could have a great vegetable plate. Great service, and a very caring waitperson (thanks, Carolyn!)
Been a fan of Mignonette for a long time but menu really needs to be updated and changed. Food at new place was not as good as downtown location. Oysters were "sketchy." Seemed like they were near to being discarded as no longer fresh. Main courses were underwhelming. Just an unexpectedly lackluster experience, likely my last until they reset their menu.
Went for birthday celebration & the food was very good. We ordered from the Cruise menu, which offer an appetizer, salad, entree & dessert for $39.00. Told them I'm gluten free and they were able to prepare everything I ordered that way. Had the filet mignon & it was perfectly cooked. The cauliflower was excellent, too. Family had salmon & lobster tails & all was perfection! Lobster bisque was also very good. The space is small & has a big bar the length of the restaurant. Service was wonderful. Dessert was either bread pudding or milk shake. Both were great! Plenty of parking on both sides of the restaurant.
The food was very mediocre. With the ex exception of the lobster roll which was excellent the rest of the food resembled more of red lobster then a fine dining restaurant that specializes in seafood. The appetizer lobster cocktail was so underwhelming you would expect to find it at the Golden corral. The side dishes are also very plain. The salmon ordered by my guest came very uncooked in resemble that what you would buy at Publix very little flavor or thought by the chef.
The lobster roll was the stand out which had plenty of quality lobster meat and sauce on a simple bun.
This has been one of our favorite restaurants...Went there with mouth watering for the clams casino. The portion was MUCH smaller than previously and the flavor was lacking. Oysters, both east and west coast, however, were delicious and well-shucked. Unfortunately, the main course (on the fancy side) of the branzino in scampi sauce, also left a lot to be desired. It was well-cooked, but so bland that we had to send it back for more seasoning. Upon return, it was just "okay." We are hoping this meal was a one time anomaly, but it will probably be a while until we want to return.
The oysters and all the appetizers at Mignonette are a pleasure - imaginative, great plating, lovely tastes and textures. Unfortunately, the mains were not so impressive. The fried chicken was very, very browned and had an unwelcome sweetness to it. It was very moist but the flavor was so... odd! My salmon had great texture and crispy skin, but the orzo and pea broth were not only pedestrian, but also needed more "oomph". Not what I would have expected. The cauliflower by itself was good but the chef went overboard on the whole, pink peppercorns. Careful with those next time! We will return for brunch, however. That menu looks very nice...
We had an excellent dinner! It was our first time at Mignonette Uptown and it did not disappoint. The food...bread, oysters, scallops, lobster app, caviar, lamb chops, were excellent and the wine selection very good. The atmosphere is a fun one, the service was great..our server was very attentive, the restaurant was immaculate. We will definitely return!
Meh. It seems this place specializes in oysters, which we didn't order, so maybe we missed out on something spectacular? We had assorted benedicts, served on a potato pancake: creative and good tasting, but not as special as attempted. The rest of the food also attempts to be special, but falls flat. And the diner style decor makes you feel dumb for paying the prices...PS. I felt the same when it was the Gourmet Diner before, so that's just me!
