Michael's Little Italy
Service was great. Food was good. The piano player was a nice touch.
We were sat in the upstairs in a very dark room. There was a piano; which was nice but loud for a smaller room. The room itself smelled of smoke. The food was pretty solod. The four of us all liked our meals (lasagne, steak, veal, gnocchi), but nothing to write home about.
The real downsides: the smoke smell was strong. Almost like the tag smoked there after work. Also, there were significant issues with the bill. Suffice to say, make sure you double check the bill before paying.
Have friends come from out of town the power went out so they had a limited amount of things that could serve. Yet everything we ordered was great will be coming back again!
Food was awesome and service was great! I will recommend it.
Natasha was a wonderful server - had great recommendations and an awesome personality! The fried artichokes were amazing, as were all our entrees and desserts. We’d highly recommend dining here.
Caesar salad was not fresh... came out if a bag type
Pesto gnocchi had no flavor
Great food and live piano music on Friday night, glad to have stumbled onto this place!
The service was amazing and food was delicious! The pianist was a great touch!!
Very quiet Sunday evening, I believe there was only one other guest while we were there. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more accommodating.
Great traditional Italian food. Enjoyed the live piano on a Saturday night.
Everything about Michael's was amazing. The dessert was great. Food was yummy. Loved it
Everything we were served was delicious, especially the collifower fritti. Osso Buco was tender and a bid enough entree that I completed it the next day for lunch. David at the piano always makes it a special evening.
Very helpful and generous staff!
Perfect in every way- food and customer service are exceptional.
We sat at a cozy table for two by the fireplace. The room was lovely. We had the spaghetti carbonara, which is to die for. Everyone there welcomed us as though we were welcomed into their home. I highly recommend this restaurant! One of my favorites!!
Everything from the food to the service and the environment was fantastic. Our servers were very attentive. We all enjoyed our food and ordered pizza, the lobster ravioli, caprice salad and the lasagna. The only negative thing that we saw was the bathrooms need a lot of work. But other than that we would definitely return.
Very good food, darker atmosphere. Light fell off the wall, but otherwise awesome experience!
Cozy atmosphere and great service and prices. However, do not recommend adding chicken to your pasta bowl. The chicken was inedible- tasted like reheated frozen chicken. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the nice staff though, and the prices were decent for Italian in this area.
Great service and food
What an amazing experience. They've put up personal tents for the outdoor seating to make your experience warm, intimate, and covid-friendly. Plus the food was amazing and service was extra-friendly. Would recommend!
Excellent place for exquisite food and beverages with a cozy atmosphere. Great to share with family, friends or a special someone.
It was my daughters 2 years remission from leukemia, and we were so happy with the place food is excellent delicious and very testy also I will let anyone who was to know that my family and me , are very greatly appreciated everything, we caming back
This is our favorite restaurant in Alexandria/Arlington area. Great food all of the time and great ambiance.
The food was slow coming, but it was a wonderful experience anyway. Drinks were on the pricy side, but the meal was very reasonable. We'll go back for sure!
Fantastic service and food!
We ordered the calamari fritti, the alfredo fettuccine with shrimp and canolis. Amazing experience, the marinara with the calamari was outstanding, the fettuccine was fresh home made pasta amazing, and the cannolis were to die for. wine reasonably priced. Michael was on top of every detail. If you want to get as close to Italy while strolling by the streets in Alexandria, do not miss this place. Will return!
Great local vibe. Everything was perfect- food, service and value! Highly recommend!!
Great pizza and service!
Overpriced especially the wine. Food was good. Great service.
Awesome dinner, especially for our first night out in months. I do not recommend the calamari (overly fried so it was tiny and dried out). But the pasta was amazing. Our waitress made me a mocktail and my husband loved his cocktail. We will be back!!
Great food, timely, and awesome wait staff. Pricing is a little high but given the times (Covid), I’m willing to pay for the high quality I received. I will definitely go here again!
The pizza brings me back to New Jersey or New York City. Extremely authentic. Service was wonderful as well.
Small menu with quality food. Feel free to ask to adjust the sauces or pasta to whatever u want. They were awesome and their oldie jukebox was awesome.
The best NY style pizza in the DMV. The husband and wife owners are from Brooklyn and NJ respectfully and the pizza is truly authentic. The homemade pasta dishes are truly outstanding. I had the pappardelle with Bolognese sauce, and it transported my taste bud to Italy.
It was great that they offered dine-in within the limitations of the Virginia restrictions at that time. Everything was done in a way that ensured diners’ safety and the food was excellent. It was a great way to get out for my wife’s birthday. We look forward to going back when they are back to full operations!
I brought two friends visiting from Ohio and one from California. Both had been to Michael's on their last visit and insisted the we go again. They pronounced that Michael's was their favorite DC metro place for fine dining and that the cheese cake was the best they had ever had. I have to agree-- completely and enthusiastically. A++
Outstanding in every way. Michael and company have created a real Old Town gem. The menu, staff, service--- It is A number 1. My favorite Alexandria dining place.
It was the night after Valentine's but they had the same menu. Charming and friendly restaurant with owners so pleasant. Great live piano player - excellent. The appetizers were delicious and beautifully prepared. My entree of the salmon was a bit on the dry side, which was disappointing. However, my friend's osso bucco was wonderful. We will be back especially to try the NY pizza, and to enjoy opera night.
Too expensive for a less than perfect experience. Best calamari app I have ever had but main courses were just average. Very quaint and romantic. Great ambiance. Piano player was a nice addition to our valentines day dinner. When my wife asked for a sugar rim for her drink the waitress claimed that the owner doesnt allow that???? They ended up doing it anyway but that is a very odd policy if its true. It was a cold night and all the doors were old and very drafty. Too expensive for a less than perfect experience.
We sat upstairs close to the piano, which had David(pretty sure that’s his name but I could be wrong, wonderful older gentleman) playing and interacting with us all throughout our meal, he took requests and explained some music history to us, as all of us are music lovers so it was the exact experience we look for. The food is always absolutely outstanding and I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered so far.
