Michael's Genuine Food & Drink - Miami
Service was lovely and patient. Food was really great. Lovely dinner, thank you! xx
The food was great- the chicken and short ribs especially! Great dinner.
It was...just OK. Ordered a glass of wine ($20) and got 1/4 of one...when I complained of was told that they measure their 5 oz pours...but the 2 that were brought out were not the same amount. They brought us “a little more “ in a mini- carafe...not worth the $$$...I would’ve been better off ordering a bottle!!
Have been going to Michael’s for many years & over time, the quality of the food has diminished. There doesn’t seem to be as much care & attention given to how it’s prepared. I had the grouper & it was over cooked. I’ve stopped ordering the ceviche because the last time I had it, there was too much liquid in the serving. Maybe too many locations with less attention to detail...I’m not sure. I won’t visit again anytime soon.
Thank you so much! I had a great time at Michaels
I will send my friends.
Happy hour values prior to being seated for dinner were terrific. Staff was very friendly and attentive! However, dinner took a long time to come out from the kitchen...and was served staccato. Prices for salads and fish dishes were a little high; desert prices were especially high. Still, Recommend. Terrific ambience.
Always a good choice in MidTown Miami. Very good oysters, very good chevice and tuna tartare. The octopus was perfect and a good fragrant Pizza. This place is Always a guarantee for our family.
The food was good but the hostess was not welcoming, the service started extremely slow but got better after a complaint, and the restuarant was loud. Interestingly, the table next to us complained as well and sent the chicken back twice.
We had a mini reunion with friends from near and far. It’s always a good idea to to MGFD. Thanks again for friendly and attentive service and awesome food! See you soon!
Food is excellent. Service friendly and attentive.
We ALWAYS love Michael's Genuine for everything: food, ambiance, service, and the warm welcome we receive every time. This time we tried a seasonal salad with peaches and toasted nuts. It was exceptional. The ceviche was terrific, too. And if you're looking for a snack, the falafel are the best ANYWHERE. We tried them with an Aperol Spritz! We ate lunch outside under the umbrellas with fans. It was comfortable even in the midst of a Miami summer.
The food was quite good, the atmosphere was good for a Wednesday night the only drawback was a pretentious waiter.
Always delivers the right scene in the design district
service was terrible, we were 2 they bring lunch for one and 30 minutes later for the other, i order pancakes and when i ask for the syrup they charge me 2 dollars more, i ask for some bread for my mothers eggs and they charge 3 dollars extra, they change from regular portions to tapas (very small) without changing the price, so price-benefit is not worth it.
Best brunch in Miami..
Something for everyone includimg kids... Service was immaculate?
¡Excellent restaurant! Everything is great, food, service and location!
Michael’s is a Sunday brunch staple for me and so far the restaurant has been rock steady in terms of the quality of the food and service. There’s always something new to experience. It’s casual enough to be comfortable while remaining wonderfully chic. Love the delicious and innovative use of fresh local products. I will keep returning.
I’ve been going to Michael’s since I moved back to Miami in 2014. Every time I go it is consistently excellent from service to food to atmosphere. I credit Michael’s with kicking off Miami’s culinary revolution back in 2006. I can’t recommend enough Michael’s as a must attend for anyone visiting Miami and for locals to go on a regular basis to support such an outstanding institution. Brunch and Dinner are my favorites.
All of our servers were great, from the Sommelier to our waiter to the hostess (who came over with a tide stick when she saw our daughter had spilled something on her dress!).
Additionally, the kitchen misread a ticket and brought out the wrong item for our daughter and the manager came over right away to clarify it wasn’t our server, that they would replace the dish AND comp it, and then offered us something in the meantime while they were remaking it. So above and beyond!
The food, as always, was delicious. I could have ordered all the apps and all the sides and have been a happy girl!
Second dinner here...same results unfortunately. Mediocre food at relatively high prices. Many better places to go in Miami!
The food was pretty good as always, but it’s seems like the old staff is gone and there are all new people that don’t have it together. Don’t think our waiter was at fault just think it was the kitchen was slow and it was unusually empty. My husband enjoyed his burger and my grouper was great.
Had a good time with my husband. The food and ambiance as always was excellent!
We love to sit at the high top where we can see the cooks. They’re fantastic!!!
Excellent food! Excellent service!
We’ve dined at Michaels G a lot but it had been several months since we’ve been back. The menu needs a fresh update, the food itself was average and unfortunately the ambiance has deteriorated to just plain poor. The inside of the restaurant is way too loud (specifically the music) so we choose to dine outside. Outside experience was a downer too. The entire space is a confused walk way for shoppers and the topper was two couples with five 8 year old kids. The kids spent most of the night running between the tables while the parents ignored their activity. Kids will be kids, don’t expect them to sit still for a lengthy dining experience. I dropped $250 for diner with my wife I blame the irresponsible parents for my poor rating and my likelyhood to pass on Michael’s in the future.
we were two couples and we ordered all kinds of things to split. overall everything was very nice.
I was disappointed in the size of the $89 rib eye. used to be a larger piece. it was tasty but not impressive for the cost.
would definitely think about twice before placing an order for that again.
We tried a few different plates, all of which were incredible. The waitress walked through the menu and suggested a few. Some of my favorites were the pork belly, octopus, and duck breast. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for - a great place without the formalities of fine dining. Highly recommend.
With all the new restaurants opened in the Design District, Michael's still is by far the BEST for service, quality and overall dining experience. I took a business associate there on Friday and we had the most amazing lunch. The place was hopping! Our waiter was friendly and the food was just delicious. The Ceviche was incredible, the beet salad was amazing, the fish sandwich was amazing!
Outstanding as always
oone of our favorites for many year
do not miss it
Everything was amazing. Super friendly and welcoming, not to mention the food was out of this world. Highly recommend!!!
Great food, service professional, consistent over all these years.A classic, dont miss it
Had a fabulous lunch with colleagues after a successful proposal was awarded and we couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate our win and strategize next steps. Food was exceptional and our server was on point with all suggestions!!!
We eat brunch at Michael's once or twice a month and it's always great
Michael’s never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious with amazingly creative flavor combinations. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and always attentive to your every need. We started with dirty martinis and manhattans followed by deviled eggs, falafel, cabbage salad, citrus salad, grilled octopus, pork belly and grilled shrimp. Kudos to the entire MGFD staff that have consistently maintained such a spectacular dining experience for all south Floridians to enjoy for 10+ years!
With all the fabulous restaurants in Miami I would be hard pressed to recommend this restaurant. The food is fresh, we had the grouper and the flavor combination was fresh. The straticella cheese was amazing as well. The waiter was rude, literally threw our plates on the table and would walk away. We had ordered a bottle of Rose and they had it in a bucket some where else and we noticed they were serving other people with our wine.
The pork belly was amazing! The churrasco was very tender!
Great food and great place for a business meeting. And location is convenient.
