   The tavern was only moderately busy with a lot of wait staff . I Had booked, possibly they forgot to submit our order as it took close to 1.4 hours to get our lunch after ordering, and wait staff were very good at avoiding eye contact . There was a cursory apology , no reason given . Food was okay not exceptional and certainly not something that would take a long time to deliver

   Service was great! Steak was delicious. Pleasantly surprised by the food and the newly renovated bistro section has a lovely feel to it. Highly recommended.

   The place changed to its disadvantage, it used to have a unique atmosphere. Now it is just a very average place. The food is also average; the service is friendly if you are lucky enough to find someone who picks up your order. Overall, it was a disappointment.

    We were looking forward to dining for quite a while and were disappointed with the service. Our table was not ready on arrival and we were told to wait, we were then forgotten about and I had to chase up the staff. They then rushed us to order and all the food came out at different times. Hopefully they were just having an off night as I love this pub.

    First time back after revamp and even better than before. My wife is coeliac and staff very helpful checking fryer is gluten free. Only issue was the maitre d'e (who was very nice) bending down very close to our daughter (to have a chat about what she was doing) without a face mask made us very uncomfortable.

    We hand a really lovely lunch here. The venue is stunning with a real pub atmosphere. The food was exceptional and the staff we so helpful and friendly. Will be back very soon 😊

    Great service. We needed to change tables as bar stools not suitable. So we had a booth table which was good. Great food and service for early Mother’s Day lunch.

    We visited for the first time and really loved the experience. The Restaurant Manager and staff were all very friendly and there was a lovely ambience. We all loved our steak meals. We will certainly return soon. Great place and local for us too. Highly recommend!

    So impressed with Micawbers. I’ve lived in the area for years and not had time. My wife and I decided to give it a go on our 30th wedding anniversary. Counter and table staff were amazing. Outside they had two two-year old’s birthday groups, mud, noise, live music and kids jumping in the creek. We just watched and laughed. The double-baked Tofu entree and The Parmi were completely amazing. Will be back.

    Hi, Was celebrating my birthday. As soon as you walk through the entrance, you welcomed with a great old pub feel and ambiance. The staff a are warm and friendly. Service was great and the food bang on. I can’t wait for our return very soon….

    Servers were nice but food is very overpriced, took an hour and a half to come out. We choose to sit outside on the balcony due to the noise inside and there were six standing heaters - only three worked. We commented ours was quite cool and the server couldn't adjust it. She said she'd get someone who could, but they never came. The heater went out. Eventually they dragged a different one over. The table next to us was freezing so we adjusted the heaters and ourselves so they could share ours. Our entree came at the same time as the main (garlic bread - $8 for four slices of bread with minimal garlic). When we commented we'd wanted that earlier (would have helped with the hour and a half wait) we were told they could take it away and off the bill, or we could keep it. We ended up keeping it because it was right there, but gave most of it to the table next to us who were also waiting for over and hour and a bit for food. Steak was nice and chips were good but wildly overpriced. The parma was average, not up to pub standard. The salad was a handful of 'four leaves' from the supermarket and literally half a cherry tomato each. Drinks massively overpriced ($15 for a pint of Guinness). Real shame, we'd been waiting to come here since before iso.

    Very relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Food was good, my only issue would be another vegetarian option in the mains, and maybe an option to have vegetable sides with our mains. Apart from that, we both enjoyed our meals. Staff very friendly and we got great service.

    My wife and I enjoyed our meal at Micawber Tavern. The food was excellent, as was the service. The only downside was that our table was right near the swinging doors that led to he outside dining area which was a bit noisy and drafty as staff were continually passing through them with meals (as were customers.) Noise levels inside were fairly loud too, possibly due to wooden floors which don't absorb sound as well as carpet. That being said, due to the service and good food we would be happy to have another meal at Micawber Tavern.

    No cutlery or napkins on table. Had to ask for menu, cutlery and service. Food came out in 3 lots . Questions asked about service and was told” sorry we mixed up orders” not good enough

    A great catch up with friends in relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The place was busy and kitchen was overwhelmed with orders, but it was worth the wait and friendly attentive staff assured us it was coming. The band playing was a lovely bonus to top off a great night.
