The Merrijig Kitchen is housed in the historic Merrijig Inn {1842), known as Victoria's oldest Inn. Situated across from the Port Fairy wharf, in the heart of gorgeous Port Fairy.
We are HIGH on atmosphere and write our menu daily, after Tanya chats with our fish monger, veggie growers, local butcher and any of our wonderful local gardeners who may pop in with their backgarden produce.
We spend a lot of time on our drinks program, offering our local Henty wine region producers, smattered between regional and international producers adhering to organic and biodynamic practises.
We love a bespoke cocktail, which we make inspired by our garden and of course, offer local artisan beer on tap.

    A Restaurant experience which is deeply satisfying from many perspectives- ambience, culinary, service & refreshments. The menu & food offerings are varied & brilliant. The service is quite outstanding- full of understanding, humour & intelligence. The wine list is extensive, thoughtful & varied. The ambience is exquisite.

    We had one night recently in Port Fairy and had dinner at Merrijig Kitchen. Everything about the experience was flawless…the food, the staff, the venues atmosphere…just perfection!

    My daughter and I had dinner at Merrijig Kitchen on Saturday and the experience was excellent from the word go. The ambience of the building is old world Victorian charm, and the open fire was lovely. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the fresh ingredients being used on the day. The fresh bread and oil were wonderful, and the chef's pear and parsnip tea was divine! Our mains and desserts were absolutely delicious and the best meals we have had in a long time. The food was perfectly cooked and the freshness of the ingredients was clear. Even the lemonade was amazing! I highly recommend Merrijig Kitchen to anyone visiting Port Fairy. A culinary highlight!

    This was a lovely quirky Resturant with a fabulous ambiance, great food and fantastic wine list. The staff made us feel very welcome with a very personalised approach. We thoroughly enjoyed both staying at the Meerijig and all of the meals we had
