Merricks General Wine Store
Just a wonderfully friendly place with good food and great Staff. We have a truly great day
We have been a few times to merricks...and our experience has always been great.
This time it was very disappointing.
The deep frier wasn't working so the kids couldn't have fish n chips which wasn't so bad, but the alternatives weren't appealing.
All of our meals lacked the usual flavour and deliciousness that we've come to expect from merricks.
To top it all off it was expensive and we felt we'd wasted our money.
Not sure we'll return in a hurry.
Unfortunately my choice fish of the day was dry overcooked and tasteless. Very disappointing. Other people at our table were of the same opinion.
A local gem. The service is like nowhere else and the food and wine are stunning. We love it.
Thank you for such a positive end to our Riding for the Disabled year. Tim looked after us perfectly and the side verandah room was a wonderful venue for us to celebrate with hardworking coaches and volunteers. Our meal was tasty, well presented and promptly served.
Really disappointed with menu selection, desserts and service
We were seated in the rear dining room, after confirming our booking the day before we had to wait to be seated. 3 out of the party of 6 could not have an alcoholic drink as the champagne classed as the driest, was undrinkable and the other was a Moscato drinker, and there was none. The desserts that were offered other than the cakes was a limited variety also.
Overall it was disappointing on the day for our group who like to try new places.
Service was impeccable and food delicious. A very pleasant and relaxing experience. Excellent wine list and we enjoyed the gallery and friendly wine tasting after our lunch. Highly recommend.
A fun place to dine, but new menu is disappointing. I'll return when the menu changes...
Lovely charcuterie platter. Competent, friendly staff.
Had a pleasant birthday celebration at Merrick Wine Store. An enjoyable afternoon. Food? Very good, though pricey. Staff? Friendly, welcoming and efficient. Ambience? Lovely!
Will be back.
4 adults 2 children enjoyed a great lunch. The wait staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. The food and including the kids food was good as was the Chardonnay.
We went for brunch, on a long weekend! Very pleasant experience. The Belgian waffles were a hit, as were the sudhakh and roti. Thankfully got a tip to book, great recommendation for 10 people.
We love our breakfast on a weekend at Merricks! Some drive for an hour to make it but always enjoy it. Staff are so friendly and accommodating.
We normally enjoy a glass of Rose’ with our breakfast and I have been known to purchase a bottle on the way out 😉
Great food - great wine - good ambiance- and yes good coffee too ! If you’re having cake - it’s best heated otherwise can be a bit dry!! Salmon on the menu would be good for Eggs and avo !!
We love this place !!!
The meals we had are smaller servings in particular the Barramundi was significantly smaller in portion than the other meals we ordered for the price, otherwise was a good lunch.
We were a table of seven adults. We booked a table for 1.45pm and were seated before our booking time. With regret we had to wait about an hour for our main meal. Some of the main meals ordered included salad. The salad served was just lettuce leaves? It appears that to get a better salad it was an addition (Sides). As for the drinks ordered these were served promptly so to were the sweets and coffee ordered.
Went to Merricks for an anniversary lunch. The food and wine were delicious and the staff were lovely. The place was close to full but did not seem noisy, crowded or rushed. Wine tasting before or after your meal is an added bonus. Highly recommended!
The Merricks food store has expanded, but it has lost it’s cute coastal appeal. It was only half full, but the coffee service was slow, the breakfast menu limited, and the breakfast was expensive and cold. It was a disappointing visit. I hope they can expand the menu, and listen to customers. Cold pumpkin is unpleasant, as is cold egg and ham.
Tried Sunday Lunch at Merricks General Wine Store. Very good French Country style cuisine, Australian style, if you know what I mean. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere in the bistro nearly full on a cold and wet, early Spring day. For the quality of the food, good value too.
We have visited many restaurants along the Mornington Peninsula and this is one of the best. Great food, excellent service and fantastic wines. The staff are cheerful and friendly and you leave feeling like a millionaire. Well worth a visit.
Great place! Decent, non pretentious food in a nice rustic setting. Loved it so much we got a voucher for my brother to go. Waiters were attentive and friendly, highly recommend.
Excellent Restaurant. Great Friendly Service, great place to spend an afternoon!
We have been to the MGS several times amd it is one of our favourite places however this time I picked the wrong selections from the menu. The starter was a Jewish artichoke and beetroot salad. Boring, dull and not a true salad. The main course was cbicken pie. Thin, watery and tasteless and miserly portions. Would recommemd serious thought to replace these with something more worthwhile and better value.
Sensational meal and intuitive, accommodating and friendly service. Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back again.
Delicious food, outstanding customer service & friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Absolutely love this place!!!
Service, food, staff so wonderful!
Sensational venue. Gorgeous, rustic and great food and service. Wine tasting first then lunch. Can’t fault it. Will definitely be back.
Birthday lunch & wine tasting.
Friendly, relaxed ambit paired with very good food & wine.....already booked a return visit for lunch!
Have been back multiple times. Food always good and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. Wine tasting before ordering wine with meal was a great idea.
Lovely rustic venue with good food, wine, ambience and service in bistro for lunch. Also a small shop, wine tasting and even a gallery. Good destination venue with plenty of off road parking.
Worth the trek - absolutely nothing detracted from a fantastic experience. Going back very soon. Don’t change anything you are doing! Fabulous food and service and ambience galore.
Warm and cosy on a winters afternoon. A welcoming ambience. Friendly attentive staff. Great value food and wine.
Wow everything was perfect. Food, wine and service! What a lovely place for lunch on a Saturday with friends and family. We will be coming back.
Excellent in all respects. Great ambiance and the food and service are pitched at the right level.
Keep up the good work!
Lovely intimate venue for a lunch with friends. Excellent staff however, I feel there could be more served with the meal for the price you pay.... a few leaves of coz lettuce just does not cut it.
Lovely setting and very good staff. The pappardelle was, unfortunately, way to oily. The burger seems to be the best value recurrent menu item
What a lovely place for a Sunday lunch. We had a family gathering last week, lovely ambience, great service and food choices to suit a range of tastes. Delightful.
As usual it was fantastic to return to Merricks. Everything from service to food to seated location
Will always recommend this restaurant
