MERE is husband and wife team, Monica and David Galetti's first restaurant.

Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.

The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

An excellent meal served by Monica and David’s team in these very difficult times.

Great vibe, comfortable and friendly! Food was presented well and timed really well. We really enjoyed our visible and the service was superb. Not the best meal we've ever eaten, but of very high quality. The Hokey Pokey desert was outstanding though.

This was a special birthday treat for a family member and did not disappoint. The staff are attentive without being unnecessarily intrusive. Very informative about the food and drinks on offer.
Food was amazing! And Monica herself made an appearance and took time to speak to all diners. The birthday girl was truly blown away.
Cannot rate the venue, the staff and the food highly enough.

Absolutely wonderful! We were here for a celebratory business lunch and the food was divine. We also had one vegan diner (me!) and the team could not have been more accommodating, with a separate menu and expert advice on which wines were vegan. Really impressive - the vegan dishes were incredible (including a celeriac veloute that will live on in my mind!) and all the a la carte meals were very well received. Highly recommended for both food and service.

The surroundings seemed a bit stiff, and I worried, for the food was going to be expensive. However, the expert waiter and sommelier put us at ease, starting our evening with two amuse bouches that were delicate, artful, and sumptuous. I cannot speak more highly of the chef(s)' artistry. The two starters -- sweetbreads and scallops -- were extremely inventive and beautifully presented. The tastes were subtle and finely controlled. Our shared entree, pigeon, was the best I have ever had, and our dessert (hokey pokey) was another work of art with an emphasis on the gustatory. I have been to more expensive restaurants in San Sebastien -- the foody capital of Europe -- but this compares . . . no, exceeds, those.

Excellent food and service - fairly expensive (as to be expected). We had a cocktail each, the tasting menu (which was amazing) and 2 bottles of wine between us and it was £146 per head. But we were pleasantly full when we left and more than ok with paying that price for a brilliant night.

Really nice friendly atmosphere.

First place I have been where the chef has made a genuine effort to greet all the diners.

Best cooked Lobster I have had, even other top end Michelin restaurants can’t cook a lobster that well!!

Looking forward to going back and can’t recommend enough.

I treated girlfriend for her birthday, enjoyed a drink in the ground floor bar before heading down for the tasting menu accompanied by wine selection. Monica was introducing herself to the diners and it was exciting to meet her. The ambience and atmosphere was informal and the staff were friendly and top class. Really enjoyed the sommeliers company as he was so enthusiastic about the selected wines. Dined for 3 hours and it was a special night. Food highlights were scallops, stone bass and the beef.

We had been looking forward to this since Jan (birthday pressie for my husband) We were not disappointed. The place is lovely and very relaxed and the staff attentive and happy to chat with us when we wanted.. The only slight disappoitment was my main which I really did not like - I do not eat red meat which seemed to feature on most of the meals so I went for the Vegetarian option which was very salty and rather dull. I did not eat very much of it although my hubbbie ate some after his own main. I did mention it (not one for pretending eveyrything is ok..) and realised I should probably have just asked them to alter the ingredients on a different meal. Anyway, the starters were lovely and the pudding...well, try the blackcurrant souffle if you go - absolutley delicious! The cocktails (and the waiters) were great and to find that my main was excluded from the bill helped to make the evening stay very special. Will go again when possible..

Had a fantastic time here on Friday. Had booked it in advance as a treat for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it a lovely night and the food was of course fantastic. My favourites were the veal sweetbread with sweet chilli glaze, and the blackcurrant soufflé for dessert. The decor inside is beautiful as well and just the right mix of smart and comfortable. Will definitely come back in the future. We even got to meet Chef Monica in the kitchen, such a lovely touch! Thank you so much for making it such a memorable night.
