Beautiful roof terrace, with lovely furnishings and plants, nice views but fairly small in size so felt exclusive not busy or crowded. Great to have option to eat inside on roof but still have the lovely views and light while staying warm. Service was brilliant, food was all good though disappointed with the number of items on the menu that were not available (oysters, scallops, halibut all not available). Steak was lovely though nothing served with it except half an onion so became expensive main when needed sides too. Octopus was also a little on the small side as a main for my partner - just one octopus tentacle on mash.
Overall, a pricey evening but felt a special place for a special occasion, so definitely recommend.
Great outdoor seating, great service, and terrific food.
Very nice setting and food presented very attractively. With deal was good value. Only issue was the conservatory does get very hot with the sun
Food was good and well presented for the starter and desserts, but the mains were not to the same standard. Fish was full of bones and this was explained that rather than fillet it, they preferred to leave it to the customer to remove the bones. We also had a rack of lamb for 2 and another fish dish which was fine, but nothing fantastic. Would return but would think about different main courses. Service and ambience are very nice. Price is OK for London. We had a few drinks and a bottle of wine and cake to £360 for 4 people.
Great dinning at the roof terrace, overlooking the Shard and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Terrible, a real disappointment considering the location and the service. £200 for a really bad meal. The fillet stakes did not taste great and were cooked terrible - very dry, like if they were deep fried. The chocolate mouse with stout was one of the weirdest things I've tried in a long time. Maybe the head chef was off that night, but for that kind of money you would expect a really good dinning experience.
Stumbled upon this lovely restaurant and tried it out with my wife on her birthday. Loved the ambience and the friendly service. Food was excellent as well.
On arrival to the restaurant, we were greeted by very friendly staff. The (what appeared to be) manager, took my coat and bags, to put in the cupboard (I had a lot of stuff) and me and my friend felt somewhat awkward standing and not knowing where to wait or whether to wait, whilst other staff also stood there (suggest that whilst one staff puts the coats away, the other shows guests to the table).
The ambience was lovely - beautiful setting with super comfortable chairs. We quickly got our menus and ordered our drinks. I ordered a cocktail which had a unique yet lovely taste (the Ocho). The Asparagus and crab mayonnaise were both lovely for starters - I would recommend them.
The mains took a while to arrive to our table. I had the cod fillet for mains and my friend had the halibut. The halibut was lovely however, the cod fillet was salty (granted I did not notify the waiter).
We didn't hesitate to order dessert and went for the chocolate mousse and burnt cream - this took a bit too long to come but we weren't disappointed with our choices and the presentation of both were lovely
Overall, we had a great experience however, do think that service could be improved in terms of speed.
I would (and already have) recommend this place to friends/family.
Amazing location, food sublime. Service was excellent.
We had a brilliant birthday lunch here. As it is in the heart of the 'City' it tends to be quieter at weekends than during the week. We had a great view and the service was excellent.
Everything was perfect but especially octopus and deserts were so incredibly good. It was such a pleasure and I’m sure I will revisit this marvellous place again.
The baked beetroot was amazing and the service was great. I had a well done fillet as I am pregnant however it came out burnt which spoilt it a bit.
Visited on a Monday so the ambience was pretty chilled. The views are great of St.Paul's and the shard but as it is not very high rise building the views are not as good as some of the other high rise rooftops in London.
I feel like it would be a great weekend spot if the music was more lively and current or maybe house music was played. The music was very chilled but understandable for a Monday night.
The staff were extremely friendly and although the roof terrace has heaters covering from above it was still chilly with the wind and we were offered blankets which we excepted, so that was a nice touch.
Great wine and cocktail menu. The decor and interior is beautiful loved the toilets.
I will definitely go back to Mercer Roof Terrace and the Vintry & Mercer hotel.
Really enjoyable for a spring - almost sunny - lunch. Staff perhaps tried to add too much value with a lengthy debate. Looking forward to going back.
Delicious food & fabulous staff. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful location in the heart of the city - from the terrace you can see the spire of St Paul’s, Tate Modern and the Shard. Lovely in the setting sun. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was well cooked although slightly on the expensive side. But worth the treat for my son’s birthday. I would recommend and go again.
We selected the Mercer Roof Terrace knowing nothing about it and it was a real surprise. The roof terrace has great views without being too open. It is also non-smoking (as all places serving food outside should be) - although there is a small standing area where smoking is allowed.
The food was delicious, the staff were happy, friendly and attentive without being over-familiar and service was timely and accurate without feeling rushed.
Given the location and quality of the food and service, the prices are reasonable.
I will definitely be back.
Beautiful setting ruined by appalling service. Waited 20 mins for a glass, 40 minutes for the starter having been pressured to order before the lunch service closed. Main course under cooked and returned . Disappointing.
Food was excellent and service good. A great everyday venue for that part of town.
Fab venue..amazing food and staff. I will definitely be going back
Bonne nourriture et jolie terrasse sur le toi. Une adresse a conserver !
We had such a lovely time. The food and cocktails are amazing. My wife is gluten free and they looked after her so well without any prompting! We felt so welcome. Would highly recommend! Thank you for making her birthday very special.
Amazing views and good service but the food fell short. The omelet starter was very good but the spring vegetables "en papillote" were bland and the salt baked kohlrabi had too much salt. Perhaps the meat and fish dishes are better but we didn't try them.
Food awful main meal and dessert too. Need to be here only for the view and terrace to have drink.
Had one of the best dinning experiences, food was amazing and will definitely travel from Birmingham again. Great service and made to feel welcome. Will be back soon..
I have had the privilege to have eaten in some of the best hotels and restaurants globally and the V&M ranks very highly towards the top.
The food was well prepared and amazing. It wasn't to over complicated as you find nowadays but full of flavour. We had the fish and the steak both of which were cooked to perfection. The service was great and not to stuffy or overpowering and the ambience in the Roof top Terrace was comfortable. Due to the weather we were inside and with the number of covers the space was not over crammed together. The veiws across London are great and will be even better on a summers day.
Also try the DND bar in the basement, again being new it is undiscoverd and a great find for London. If you like comfortable discreet places ( based ona Prohibition theme) where you can talk without overbearing music in the background then go here. I'd recommend the Whiskey Sours!
Amazing restaurant and would highly recommended the food with lovely views of London. Will be back again soon.
Roof Terrace restaurant with great service, very good wine pairing suggestions and overall the service was great. Food was good, but no OMG effect. I would recommend to go for fish courses rather than meat.
Excellent service, excellent food, and excellent value.
Great terrace for a sunny evening like the one we had.
Service was very slow as they were very busy for a Tuesday night and presumably understaffed with four people front of house run ragged.
Food was good, not excellent.
Bread was very good.
Their Croquette was very good - nice flavour and crispy.
Fish for main course had been sitting on the parse under heater lamps for far too long to be very good. Asparagus was nothing to write home about.
Nice restaurant, good food and service
Lots on the menu to choose from would have given it a 5 if it wasn’t for the triple cooked chips which needs some attention.
Shared rack of lamb was delicious and beautifully cooked/presented.
Thank you for a nice evening
Overall a very good experience. Waiters were very friendly, Cod cheeks were great, ribeye fantastic, pork cutlet a bit dry and flavourless. We received 25% off, I don't think I would return and pay full price.
Been twice now and love the food and cocktails. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is great!
We weren’t sure what to expect but everything about this restaurant was excellent- warm and welcoming staff. The food was fantastic- an absolute delight! Even though outdoor roof terrace was closed due to weather the views still great and ambiance lovely- we’d definitely come back and recommend to family and friends!!
We visited on a busy night with a full restaurant and bar. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff were very pleasant and helpful however, the service a little slow on the night.
The prices are substantial and we expected high quality food. Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations and was pretty ordinary ‘pub grub standard’. The food looked better than it tasted and I expected much more for the price paid.
A 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill, even though we were only a party of 2. This seems to be standard these days in london but I don't approve of this method and it is embarrassing to ask for it to be removed. I certainly don't object to paying for good service but I believe it should be a choice, and I prefer to give it directly to the server.
I would go here again for a drink in the bar for the atmosphere, but definitely not for food.
Fantastic food and attentive service. Bit pricy but with those views, worth every penny.
We had a terrific evening, the restaurant is really amazing. The food came beautifully presented, simple, colourful and interesting dishes that were very well executed. I could eat those scallops all day long. We really enjoyed the food. The service was helpful, unobtrusive and at just the right pace, not rushing us when we were talking and food came out promptly. Simply great.
The roof terrace is a superb setting looking in one direction to St Paul’s and the other to the Shard. The service was very good and the food was a higher quality than we expected Go for the beef Tartare, the lobster and the halibut you will not be disappointed. With the 25% discount on the food and drink this is very good value for a top quality City restaurant
Lovely views from the roof top terrace. We watched the sun go down, wrapped in cozy blankets, and then when it got chilly we moved in to the main restaurant for dinner. Very nice cocktails and food (including Dorset snails!)
I can imagine this being very busy in summer
Great new place in the City - lovely terrace
