Visited restaurant for dinner. Great food and service. Incredibly beautiful grounds. Would be perfect on a warm summers day.
Very attentive staff and made to feel very welcomed. Excellent food and fabulous setting and ambience. A place to drop in when in the Yarra Valley. Highly recommended.
It was great having dinner at Meletos. But I have to say that the food quality has gone down since we have dined their a year ago.
While the food was delicious we were disappointed that at the weekends there is now only set menus. Either entree and main for $60 or entree and pizza for $50. There were four of us and two of us are not huge eaters so we were never going to be able to eat a whole pizza each. In fact between four we ate four entrees and only 2.5 pizzas which was a terrible waste (and we weren’t allowed a doggy bag). We would have liked more flexibility with the menu for those of us who are pregnant (so couldn’t eat a lot of the goats cheese/ cured meat options) and those without giant appetites.
Very busy and noisy - when we arrived at 12.30 we were advised that our table was re-booked for 2.30 so we had a 2 hour window which was strictly enforced. When making the booking, we were not advised this would be the case and would have chosen another venue for our annual catchup with friends where both couples had travelled distance to meet there as we would have spent more time perhaps enjoying a leisurely dessert and coffee. Food and service were good.
I thought the weekend menu was overpriced for what it was. Three small arancini balls barely the size of a 20c piece was laughable combined with the choice of pizza pumpkin with pine nuts laced with limp green rocket that was dry tasteless and not worth $50.00 and my friend had the prosciutto with dry tasteless base was also disappointing. Ambience nice but food experience not and akin to mutton done up as lamb. Wife had Jerusalem artichokes followed by the paparadelle pasta that was dull and chef could have a wider imagination to make these meals more appetizing. Will not come back and wasted the trip to Yarra Valley from Brisbane who I must say has caught up with MELBOURNE who i always brag has the best of everything. Meletos you disappointed. Please also warn visitors that on weekends it’s a set price menu. Frank and Judy Dimasi 0415217356. Wont go to trip advisor but please improvement needed.
Meletos is a beautiful place for a lovely lunch. The staff are efficient and friendly, the food is simple and delicious. My favourite Yarra Valley lunch.
Great food, great service in great location. Well priced too....
My first visit and I can confidently say it won't be my last.
Was a 2 course menu so not too many options to choose from we arrived just after 11:40 and didn't get out till after 2. the entree came out quick but from there time went down hill with over an hour wait for main. not good with 2 little kids. would not go back here on a weekend it was disappointing and not good value for the meal, the weekday we went was a better experience
love the display of the cafe and food. Also the outdoor view is awesome.
We love the food and the ambience. Service was ok, just a bit of a wait even when paying.
Beautiful location, relaxed and tranquil. Delicious food and fabulous service.
Magnificent views, tremendous service and a delicious lunch. The only thing I would potentially have an issue with was portion size.
We have been at Meletos on numerous occasions including a large family birthday. Excellent location, food, wine and service has always been excellent and was on our last visit
Beautiful meal with the family for my 60th Birthday!
Delicious food, it was a really busy lunch and our waitress realised we had waited a while for our food and brought over some bread and olive oil for us, much appreciated.
When removing two allergy related foods from the plate is too much of an ask (even when I included this information when I made the booking), I have no interest in returning. Lots of other options in the YV who are able to make small adjustments to the menu.
It is a beautiful place, food is yummy, service is nice. We had a great evening.
Fixed price for a pizza deal at $50 per person bit high, but worth it for a special occasion. Thank you
This was the best meal we had during our stay in the Yarra Valley. It was simple, fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. A beautiful view to top it all off!
Melotos was nice but no where when I made the booking did it mention the set menu. Which in my opinon was overpriced. I had the Pate and Pasta, the pate was bland and the pasta was average. I wouldn't go back on a weekend, the set menu was overpriced.
Have visited Meletos once before and that was a much different experience than what we experienced on Friday. I assume being a public holiday was the major factor.
We understood the restaurant was busy but we were reminded more than enough times that our table was booked for other patrons.
We left only an hour and 15 minutes upon arrival as we were well pressured to leave due to rush and demand.
We weren’t able to enjoy the ambiance at all.
Unfortunately neither did we enjoy the food.
The menu was a set menu and limited to options which is understood for a public holidays.
However, over priced pizza which lacked flavour and a ‘side’ that looked like left over ingredients put together doesn’t cut it.
While the bill presented itself to us as soon as our plates were taken we noted an additional public holiday charge.
Not sure why the menu would be set and have a charge on top.
Overall disappointing experience from what seems to be an overrated location and a waste of our time and money.
The Gnocchi was beautiful but they dont serve it anymore. Hopefully they put it back in the menu.
The mocktails were a bit dull. Lack of natural flavours and presentation. But otherwise, ambience and facility was very good.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Great food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Would return!
Excellent food and service. Good value. Great view. Our group of 4 all ordered different mains and enjoyed all of them. Looking forward to returning
Had a lovely date there - the food was sensational!!
The dining options have changed since last visit to have only a set menu available. Previously an entree and a pizza would not have cost $50. We were only notified of this once we had ordered - the waiter told us that we needed to order 2 more entrees and another main, which we didn’t really want. If we had known this prior to ordering, we probably would have gone elsewhere. Food was great (though we didn’t get through half of it) and staff were lovely.
Delicious food, not badly priced for the quality of the food, location and venue
Great place and atmosphere , amazing food at an except table price range. Gather your friend and go for a great experience
The setting is lovely, the service was friendly however the food was inconsistent in quality. The entrees were OK and the desserts were nice enough, both our mains were left wanting, especially the Pappardelle which sounded so nice on the menu but arrived as an under seasoned disappointment. Overall the price ($50 & $60) for the weekend menu set higher expectations than what was delivered.
We still had a good time, we loved the setting and views, we might go back but not in a hurry and perhaps only for dinner or on a weekday where the a la carte menu is available.
Beautiful surroundings with equally great food. We booked for lunch on the weekend and although the set menu options were delicious, it was too much food than we needed. Unfortunately they don’t offer doggy bags for leftovers, and we wish we could have ordered à la carte so there wasn’t any food left to waste. Quite loud inside when busy. Have been during the week and it’s much nicer with lower noise levels. Lovely space and very good service, would highly recommend - thanks Meletos.
More likely to recommend it to a group of people looking for a boozy lunch but not so much for families and couples. The swooping magpie (while entertaining) took away from being able to walk around enjoy the gardens.
Great experience overall! The pizzas and cocktails were delicious :)
Mate, we've been there a few times over the years and always really happy with all aspects of the dining, service and the like. Food is always excellent and I admire the hard work that the chefs and friendly staff put in.
Great place but would not recommend to groups greater than 7. Unfortunately they have a fixed menu and price menu as part of their policy for groups of 8 or more.
Yes, I would definitely recommend the place. It's a little expense over the weekend as it's a set menu, but it's worth the experience.
Absolutely beautiful lunch, shared with 5 friends on our girls weekend. There was plenty of flavour, options, portion size was perfect for sharing and the drinks 👌👌
We had a lovely night at Meletos. The wood fired pizza was delicious and the moscato was lovely. Dessert of the crumble was tasty and filling. The lady who served us was so helpful and friendly. We loved our time at Meletos and will be back again. 😊
Peaceful arvo with friends and good foods. Kind of upset the oxtongue is off the menu, but I understand it’s not everyone’s forte.
as it was a dry lunch for us, I did not feel pressured into drinking wine or cocktails which was great.
Staff were accommodating as we were sitting in the hot sun and they were happy to move us .
