Meatmaiden is one hell of a steakhouse. Bringing you the best barbecue and grill in Melbourne, our large and energetic basement restaurant and bar and down-to-earth staff make us the perfect CBD venue for intimate dinners, work lunches, special occasions or functions.

We're part steakhouse, part smokehouse - with a unique and eclectic mix of premium steaks and smoked meats. We've been fine-tuning that approach for the last ten years to bring you the best meat around - dry-ageing select local cuts like O'Connor rib eye, tending the fire to smoke grass-fed short ribs over ironbark and pairing with signature dishes like our lobster mac cheese.

Hosted by the legends at Casa de Vinos, this whisky and meat evening in the Meatmaiden bar will see the cracking open of some bottles surrounded in mystery and reserved for those few who really deserve to enjoy it. Cocktail on arrival plus four tastings of boutique whiskies paired with small plates from the Meatmaiden kitchen. Bookings are extremely limited for this small, intimate event in the Meatmaiden bar. Great experience. I was greeted by the restaurant owner and made to feel at home immediately. Porterhouse cut was prepared to perfection and drink was on tap . I’m telling my family and friends to make a b line here when they come into Melbourne CBD.

Obnoxious bunch of customers on the big table - staff did a great job to manage them whilst also providing a high level of customer service to everyone else. Felt bad for the staff who had to deal with them but glad they were still able to make our experience great!

I absolutely love Meat Maiden! The food and service are always amazing. The staff are so attentive and on top of everything. It was my partner's first time dining there, and it was his birthday - he loved it! We ordered a few things to share, and the burnt butter and bread was my favorite starter (a must-try!). I did notice the bread was a bit too charred, but I let our waiter Matthew know and he promptly brought us a fresh new plate, which I was really happy with. The prawns were fantastic, and the mac and cheese was great too - I tried it for the first time, but I think I'll stick to the lobster mac and cheese next time. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the drinks were delicious. Both Hayley and Matthew were incredible. I had emailed Hayley in advance regarding seating, pre-payment options, and a special request for my partner's birthday, and she was so quick to respond and help me out with all the options. Matthew, our waiter, provided impeccable service. He was attentive, made us feel comfortable throughout the night, and checked in on us regularly. It was a truly wonderful experience, and we will definitely be returning to Meat Maiden in the future.

The vibe, the service and the food were all brilliant. We were well looked after by Logan who impressed us immensly with his deep knowledge of the menu....particularly given my wife is coeliac and knowning what was gluten free and what was able to made as a gluten free option without having to check. The atmosphere was energitic and our meals were outstanding. Not our first time to Meatmaiden and certainly not our last! Great place for a great steak!
