We also host Private & Semi-Private Events and we have banquet coordinators on site.
staff does nothing!! you have to ask for a spoon! a lot of items at buffet had no serving utensils. chairs stained. just horrible
Could not recommend right now even though we have brought friends there in the past. Dirty, napkins, silverware on floor, tables not cleaned, we had to brush crumbs off of our chairs before we sat down. Very quiet, lots of waitstaff no one cared.
We have pictures if you would like to see
The service was pleasant and food tasty.
However there was such long 15-25 min waits between ordering and gettin, or steak arriving and getting a steak knife.
Oh what this place could be, if only the managers to which we spoke to, cared or had skills enough to fix it.
Sad so very sad
Food was delicious. Service was attentive but not overbearing.
Restaurant area closed for a private event so we were seated in the big dining room off to the right. It was very noisy and the service was very slow. Food was adequate but nothing special. Have been to McLoone’s several times before and it was very good, but today was an off sa
Steak was bland, was over charged for swapping sides (it was corrected), daughter’s (she is 2.5) dinner did not come out with the order and she had to wait another 20 minutes - her meal was comped, but it’s the overall experience. Good place for drinks, appetizers and ambiance. It stops there.
Food was great. The one dining room was dirty with food on the floors. We moved and sat in the other dining room at the table they placed us at and it felt like it was falling over. If you were to cut your meat on it the table would spill every drink. Our food came out before our drinks. The waitress took quite... a bit of time between visits. Finally wanted to order desert. The waitress said she could not find a desert menu. Ordered coffee and desert. Waited again, coffee arrived without desert. Waited some more was told they don’t have any more desert. Coffee was now cold. UGH.....
I truly had a good experience at this restaurant. They were very accommodating after I miscalculated the number in my party and had to be moved to a new table. Our waitress was so very nice and didn’t even have to write our meal selections down. We all received the right meals! Very impressed by that! Enjoyed the food as well.
Very friendly staff & very festive for the holidays. Food was good. Server was very accommodating with the children
Our server Rachel was so personable and helpful and just the perfect server for our group of 6.
Food was really substandard. Drinks were sparse.
We had Scotch.
Server didn’t know we were seated. And she kept forgetting items.
Very loud - lots of families. Hey! It’s the holidays.
Not the experience we wanted - especially for the price.
Hamburger bun hard, brought to the attention of server and nothing done-no new bun brought . Beet salad un spired; large circles of red beet slices on a ton of baby arugula with a small amount of goat cheese crumbles and a ton of almond slices. Cocktails were terrible; dirty vodka martini ordered very dirty with no vermouth arrived with vermouth and no olive juice.!Skinny margarita was awful and undrinkable. Kitchen was exceedingly slow with about 50% of tables occupied. Restaurant shows no pride with the exception of the reception desk, whose hostesses were great. We will never patronize this place again.
Ambience was wonderful -- upscale "ski lodge" type atmosphere. Warm, cozy and comfortable. Loved the Christmas vibe and Christmas music playing throughout our meal. Views were breathtaking. High ceilings were lovely, but did make the noise travel throughout the restaurant. Food was really delicious -- everyone in our party of four thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Desserts to die for! Service was spotty -- it seemed like our server may have been on the new side. She was not as attentive as we would have liked, but it was all okay. Wonderful evening celebrating the holidays at a truly fabulous venue!
The food choices in the buffet were amazing and you may not get to all of the available items! My new "go to" place for birthday celebrations!
Beautiful atmosphere great service good food.
Hated room like a hall near kitchen asked to relocate no! Waited for server all evening on and off.. selection food poor all cold many dishes empty.. had to keep asking if there was more of empty dishes .. staff at times weren’t refilling items .or on top of things ..dessert bar a mess pieces of stuff all over never cleaned.. seemed very sparse in selections , salads just lettuces no add ons like tomatoes cucumbers normal things.. had to ask for bread told none available by one person. Even though saw some tables had .. finally got
Very disappointed travelers 45 min.. such a mistake !!
Our server Shayna was extremely nice and accommodating. Even though it was Thanksgiving, we were not rushed. The food was excellent and they kept replenishing the buffet. Great experience!
We attended the Thanksgiving buffet- just depressing experience.
- The turkey was flavorless, the stuffing was glop. The best food in the spread was my kid's chicken fingers and french fries.
- Service was awful. We were seated but given no cutlery. Took forever to get drinks. We saw our server maybe three times the entire meal.
- They can't even pull off basics of buffet management. The traffic flow was not well defined, it was more of a mosh pit of food.
I can sum up my experience in one word - disappointing . Even taking in account that this was a Thanksgiving buffet and choices were limited the food was bland. The service was awful. One of our party ordered tea. The waitress brought the hot water and said she would be right back with the tea box. 15 minutes later we were still waiting. By the time we were able to get someones attention the water was cold. We also asked for some bread. The bread basket was finally brought to us after we finished eating. All in all not a a place I can recommend.
Ah-Mazing! HIGHLY recommend. Our experience at McLoone’s was everything you hope for when dining out ! The ambiance is warm and cozy, the staff is efficient, extremely personable, and attentive. And the Food! —delicious ! We got apps, entrees, wine and cocktails. All exceeded my expectations. Everything was filled with mouth water flavor and done to perfection. Wine and cocktails had an awesome selection. We ended our evening with a cappuccino and if you’re a coffee lover you know a good cappuccino is hard to come by in a restaurant, Well ours were made perfectly. Pricing - I personally feel for this type of higher end restaurant and environment prices are decent. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! Planning our next evening back!
It was dinner for my birthday with my boyfriend. The food was good but the restaurant wasn’t great. There was a live band by the bar, which I wouldn’t have minded sitting at tables in that room. It looked like they just finished having an event so they stuck us in the back empty room with the brightest lights under the speaker blasting music in addition to the band being very loud, it was almost impossible to talk hearing two sets of music at the same time until the band took a break finally but then they came back on later. The floors were very very dirty and because it was so bright in the back old people room it was very noticeable. We drove over 30 minutes to get there. We didn’t bother staying for drinks afterward and just went home. Quesadillas were ok. Mahi was good but almost cold.
Poor service. Asked specifically to space out apps and entee & entree came before apps were finished.
Crab cakes were cold and without any flavor.
Music was good (not too loud) but the guy didn’t have a great voice and song choices were mostly not appropriate for his type of voice.
This is a great place to eat lunch or when your eating outside in nice weather, but the dinner menu inside is too limited and is way too expensive. One chicken dish and a Burger 16.99??? really??? I've eaten better food at third the cost. But the ambiance in nice weather is awesome.
Great food and courteous staff
Menu limited to high end entrees. Only one chicken entree available, a chicken pot pie. Food was good but overpriced.
It was an overall good experience. I definitely recommend going in the daytime to see the beautiful views and I’m sure it’s amazing during spring/summer time as well
Terribly disappointed. Sea bass was a dried out, stringy mess. I think they forgot our apps, so after reminding, the entrees came out too soon. Substitute fries for mashed potatoes was overlooked. Been here several times, but this is likely our last, other than maybe for drinks.
Table was in a poor location, mucus playing over the speakers was not appropriate and our server got sick and no one followed up when she didn’t return.
Food, drink and service was very good. On the expensive side!
Yes, we would normally recommend them, but not for when there is music!
We've dined with McLoone's Boathouse regularly since it has first opened its doors. The food & service have always been TOPS for us. But what prompted our low overall rating for this visit were two things.
1) We have not been there on a weekend night (Friday or Saturday) so this was our first experience to be there when there is live music, unless they can be seated in the private section. We deliberately made reservations for the earliest seating, since we were celebrating Veterans Day weekend with a couple from our church. The band was superb but their volume was just right for a full room, but far too LOUD for the size crowd who actually stayed for the music. As soon as the music started, the place emptied out, because it was so loud NO ONE could carry on a conversation at all! As the private half was reserved for a private event, there was NO PLACE to find an area at all to talk or be heard over the band, anywhere in the rest of the building! The music was top quality, but far too loud for the reasons we met our friends for. Our server apologized but told us that nothing could be done about our complaint. And normally, the fact that the band started half an hour early would be a bonus, but the second half of our dinner visit ruined the evening for us.
2) I have always been unhappy that gratuities cold not be added to our Gift Card use. Throughout my dual careers, I have NEVER encountered this problem at ANY restaurant anywhere in the WORLD that has this policy! Our server told us that there are no exceptions permitted, despite that it has always been a common complaint, but that management refuses to accept this feedback. Well, as much as we love McLoone's, it is not the only game in town. Unless the management position on this bit of feedback changes, we can easily take our business elsewhere, where feedback is respected and gladly accepted.
The hostess was very friendly, the food was amazing, and the service was OK.
My first try at often praised McLoone restaurants. Went for geographic location, thinking ok finally will try this, taking my adult daughter and her boyfriend who were heading into NYC after. The reviews were so up and down on Open Table, but I had heard good things years ago. All 3 of us LOVED it. Roaring fire welcomed us at front door on the first really cold night of Fall, then we were seated next to another fireplace by a window overlooking lake (although really too dark outside for us to appreciate.). We were there Mid-week and bar area was full and lively, dining room offshoot area not full, so easy to converse, and the tables were seated spaced apart, rather than on top of each other. Friendly, energetic and diligent service, cloying or annoying. Two had filet and literally cleaned their plates, saying delicious. I had salmon. Perfectly cooked served with interesting cabbage and fingerling potatoes in scrumptious lemony butter sauce. Was SO GOOD. Generous portion, could not finish. Not an inexpensive option, but we will be back and will look forward to trying others down the shore. A great night, and it would be a fantastic location for their patio dining in warmer weather, too.
Donny our service waiter was attentive and provided outstanding service. The receptionist was friendly and provided a requested table. Lovely decor and views of the lake. Easy access to the lake's walkway for a stroll after lunch. Food was good and reasonably priced. First time visitor..Will definitely return.
This was my first time back in the last 4 years. Last time coming here. There used to be a standard McLoone had. Unfortunately they lost it throughout the years.
Having my daughters bridal shower there in January
Wonderful place to have a business lunch
everything was amazing, food, views, ambiance... with the exception of the server, she kept dissapearing, but overall she was nice!
Overall we had a good experience at McLoone's. The food was very good and the service, especially our waitress, Brandi, was outstanding. She was attentive, helpful, professional and very pleasant.
Went for lunch on Sunday, food was so so, n ot worth the cost and service slow.
The service was terrible, and the food was average. We had several complaints, but the manager was very apologetic and made sure that our complaints were heard. Thank you, Colin. . We will give it another try in the future.
