Servers were probably new. Took an order that included steak but didn’t ask how we wanted it done. The steak was ordered med-rare but was very tough and bland.
The firecracker appetizer was decent.
We also had to ask for a refill on water and drinks.
At the end of the night, we asked for our check without the server ever asking if we wanted dessert,’coffee, etc.
Basically just OK and overpriced.
Ugh. The worst, I'm sorry to say. It took forever for our server to come to our table. Her colleagues noticed how long we had been waiting and went in search of her. The yellow jackets were off the hook. Our neighbors were loud, obnoxious and not observing COVID restrictions. The fish tacos were dry and chewy. Never again.
Lots of bees. Had to move inside. Very accommodating though.
We sat outside, the day was crisp but enjoyable. The view was great. We had a server sheeba, who was very attentive and quite enjoyable to talk to. Casual atmosphere. I had a wrap and my wife had the boathouse burger, north were good. We topped it off with a pitcher of sangria. We intend to go back soon but this ice hope to see the zoo first then maybe a good dinner at mcloons, with a night cap.
Always enjoy the beautiful setting of dining on the veranda. It is our anniversary dinner spot.
Were it not for the beautiful location this place there is no way it would survive. The food is consistently poor and overpriced. Tacos, bad. Seafood roll, bad. Crab cakes, sooo bad. Oh, wait, the French Fries were good. This is my third or fourth time there since they opened years ago. I keep forgetting how bad the food is (because of its location). But I won't forget again.
We got there a half an hour early but where seated with no preblem.
Service was excellent and Dylan was very attentive to our needs.
First time eating here. We had an outside table overlooking the lake. The food was good - seafood roll, lobster mac & cheese, and scallops were all delicious. The service left a bit to be desired: drinks took an inordinate amount of time to get to the table, food was delivered to our table but we had to then wait for utensils (maybe hostess could pass out utensils when seating diners?), and waitress was not as attentive as she should have been. I would return again though hoping service issues were ironed out.
Service and food was great. A lot of bees!?
The location was nice, but there was a bee problem and we had to move indoors. We went for brunch, so the food wasn't made for us - didn't seem so fresh. Honestly, both my husband and I got sick afterwards. Reviewers give high marks for food, so maybe the lunch and dinner menu is better.
Excellent love this place! My husband and I go there often. We went there on our very 1st date!
Great outdoor experience. Service was great and food was excellent. Tables are pretty far apart. Would recommend this place to anyone nervous about going out to eat because of covid.
After being warned about bee’s, we tried to eat outside. Got stung so we went inside. Main dining room is very loud due to floors and walls, felt like a cafeteria. Dining hall was not packed but our server was super super slow. Never checked on us, drinks took 25 minutes, dessert was served with no silverware. Food was just ok. We are better off sitting at the bar and just having an appetizer when the world gets back to normal.
It was excellent (as always). Relaxing environment. Even it’s a bee season, and we were informed in advance, the crew made everything possible to avoid the annoying. We enjoyed the lunch without any inconvenience.
Excellent food and kind people.
Our dining experience was disappointing. There were way too many bees flying around outside, that we had to move indoors. The server was not aware which foods contained eggs, and nuts, which we are allergic too. Once the food came out, when we confirmed that it does not contain the allergens, they took the food back to remake. We were charged twice for one dish, that went back into the kitchen because the staff were not sure if it contained the allergens. The server was carrying the water 4 glasses with his bare hands. We all decided not to have water because this is not hygienic. It is better to use a tray to carry glasses, especially since we are in a global pandemic time. The wontons were similar to the frozen items we purchase at grocery stores. The slow-cooked beef was very poor quality meat. The crab cake burger was the only decent thing we ordered and it tasted average. Some of the waiters were not wearing masks. Even the manager had his mask placed below his nose, which serves no purpose. I expected more awareness from a restaurant in terms of allergens and hygiene. We will not be returning.
Great overall service. I did outdoor sitting and the ambience and view was awesome
We were sat down and over 30 minutes had passed and no one took our order. I called the manager over and he did not seem to care at all and so my guest and I just ended up leaving the restaurant. I will never be coming back to this restaurant again.
It was a great experience and our server was amazing!!
The hostess and our server were very pleasant and professional. Overall,
a nice dining experience.
The outside area is so beautiful but unfortunately it was swarmed with bees which forced us to have to dine inside. The food and drinks were good but probably not worth the price that they charged. I would eat here again but hoping that they come up with a solution to fix the bee problem especially with COVID
Food was great the ambiance was wonderful, wife loved it
Great! Always enjoyable...can’t wait to return!
It was a very nice evening, the fish tacos were delicious & the clam chowder soup, it filled me up, - kid friendly. In all we had a wonderful evening. Thank you all for
A wonderful night!
Food was good, expensive. Drinks were good, the day we went there were many flies n we weren’t sitting outside but door was open!
Unfortunately there were many bees swarming around on the patio. We should have left after receiving beverages at lunch. Hostess should have warned us of the situation. They did ask if we wanted to sit inside after we informed them of situation, but due to Covid did not feel comfortable doing so. We did not ask for adjustment to bill, but I felt they should have offered to do something since it was a miserable experience..
They have a bee problem. Deer ic
Was very satisfied with everything at McLoone’s. Our server Vincent was very good and tables were well spaced outdoors. Food was good. Experience was enjoyable.
Slow service, took forever. Way overpriced. Pretty good food. My tomato bisque was warm not hot. Outdoor chairs very uncomfortable.
We waited an hour before our waiter explained that he put the wrong table# on our order. So we had to tell him our order again.
No bread was provided while we were waiting. (when we asked for it, we were told 3 minutes, but it never arrived)
Too many bees, making it uncomfortable to sit outside.
We sat outside and there were bees everywhere!!!. We came with our children they were scared to death - did not allow us to enjoy our meal
I made reservations for 7:30pm. It was my fiancé and I 1st date night since having our 7 week old son. We arrived on time but had to wait for a table to open up. We didn’t get sitter until about 8pm. It took 15 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us. Once the waitress took our order it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. The food came out in a good time frame but the guy (not our waitress) who brought the food out said he was going to bring utensils. We sat there for 5 minutes with food but nothing to eat with. When he came back he said he couldn’t find any silverware but had plastic utensils for the meantime and would be right back with silverware. He never came back. Our waitress came over 10 minutes later asking if we needed anything. By then we just went ahead and ate with the plastic utensils. We ate, the food was good. So that was exciting. A woman came over took our plates, we asked her to tell our waitress we would like the check and a to go box. She never came back. Our waitress came over in about 15 minutes and didn’t have what we had asked for, she said the woman never told her anything. Our waitress then went to go get our check and box, what took her 10 minutes. I put my card in and it took her 10 minutes to come back to get the card. Overall the service was VERY slow. The scenery was beautiful. I had been to the restaurant a few times in the past and had amazing experiences. Maybe due to Covid, everything was off. So I will try again in a few months.
It was a beautiful evening to dine outdoors. The food was great. The service was great. Very pleased with our dinner.
the food and atmosphere were both great. Service was a different story. our server took 30+ minutes to get us our drinks (openly admitting to forgetting to put them in twice), as well as not providing updates on ordered food while other surrounding tables ordered after us and received their food first.
beautiful place could be great with better communication between staff members and guests ...
Great atmosphere, service was slow, food was good.
It was a wonderful relaxing lunch
McLoone's Boat House and Buccone's in Millburn, NJ
We had such a great time and the food was so amazing. Brandy was amazing and did such a great job!!
I Think the menu should be expanded. With more of choices.
The waitress was wonderful. She made the night! (Bartender needs to learn a little more about serving drinks...served a zambucca and a cognac on ice. These kinds of drinks get served straight up.)
