i was extremely disappointed. however my most pleasant experiences at mcloones have been during lunch which is always amazing, so maybe that was the issue. i ordered a mule - horrible. the buffalo wonton which i get every time were burnt and dry. the garlic shrimp were good but came with one teeny tiny crostini. the risotto and osso bucco were bland, risotto and rice - overcooked. the monkfish was dry with zero flavor. the prawns tasted like ‘gym shoes’. i felt bad for most of the staff there, there were complaints at every other table. definitely has to be a change in staff or off night though .. as i have never experienced this here ive been coming for years.
Reservation were at 7 and we were seated at 8. My guest explained her allergies to dairy and they explained there would be no issues. Cheese was on the dish the first time. So we sent it back and 7 min later a new dish came out so we thought but nope same dish just heated in a microwave. Cheese was still very very present. Not cool to make someone sick for money. I guess that’s the time we in sell it by any means. I asked can a dish be prepared a certain way because it was make or break for me and was told yes they can but they don’t recommend it. LIE. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WARM they toasted the bread only and hoped that would warm the rest of it up. Just the worse experience since I moved to NJ. Based off today would not recommend for eating. Just visiting for the view.
The noise needs to be moderated. Will look forward to outdoor seating next time.
It took 1 hr to get our drinks. First appetizers didn’t come our for an hour as well and the only half of them. Second round of apps didn’t come out til after first ones were done and cleared. Meals were just ok except for the Ricotta cavatellli Everything was very slow. Water glasses not refilled. We won’t be returning
Outstanding experience bc of our server and the hostess staff, however there was a party with a DJ playing outside on the deck and the music was so insanely loud you had to scream to hear the person next to you. We were very generously moved to an inside table before our food arrived and were able to keep our same wonderful server.
The waitress was super nice and food was delicious
Amazing location and staff is awesome!
Very nice. Ate outdoors.
Long wait time to be seated (even with reservation) and long time for food to come out. Wouldn't recommend taking kids unless they are extremely patient.
food was good but service is a little slow
We had a great experience! The food and the staff were exceptional!!
Very pleasant server
The food was good but our server/waitress was not on her game. We had to ask another server to tell her to come to our table just so we could pay and leave. Too much time waiting.
Server took awhile to come to our table for drink options. Loved the jazz music during our sunday brunch. Food was plentiful and no rush to get up from our table. I already booked 2 more dates to return.
Went for Sunday brunch buffet.
Expected better food for the price.
Food was delicious, and ambiance was good. Service was painfully slow and you could hear the loud music from a party that was happening on the other side of the restaurant. I’ve been here before, and this time I was disappointed.
We were seated almost an hour after our reservation time. What was worse is that they couldn’t even give us an ETA on our wait time.
Beautiful location. Food was okay, but not worth the price. Horrible service!!!
We had a 2:15pm appointment. We were not seated until 2:35pm. It was crowded inside not enough spacing. Our waitress was new and very kind, her name is Sarah. She was doing the best she could. Our drinks were horrible. They took them back after a long wait and then we got glasses of Sangria, white and red. Our appetizers came but they weren’t ours so we had to wait even longer for ours. It just seems as if the kitchen and wait staff were overwhelmed. Our meal came out we didn’t get a chance to eat it because after waiting so long to eat and having the appetizers finally we asked for boxes to pack up and go. When we called management over to our table because we waited for over 20 minutes for the check he goes over to another table then makes his way to us. He was overwhelmed, you could see it, he said nothing about our complaints. I was annoyed. It was my first time there. It costs me $146.69. Something I was looking to be beautiful turned out crappy. Our first time out since Covid celebrating being alive and Pride. I doubt if I will go back.
We enjoyed the food!
Overall good experience
Waitress was a little slow in providing service although
Meet up with a friend.
I enjoyed my birthday dinner at McLoone's Boathouse last night! Me and four of my girlfriends had an indoor reservation for 7:15. We were seated quickly and our server (Ian) was attentive. We'd highly recommend the lobster flatbread as a starter. The drinks were decent; dinner was delicious; and dessert was the perfect way to finish off a great meal.
How disappointing! The wait staff was inattentive (at best): we had to ask for pepper (no fresh crushed pepper for Caesar salad??); we were 2 couples and each couple asked to share a salad but the message never got to the person who delivered them (accordingly, we had to ask for additional plates per couple [but each couple only received 1!] and we had to ask for an implement to “divide” the salad); for the two who ordered the halibut, the fish was over cooked (dry) and tasteless.
At these prices we will go elsewhere in the future.
There seem to be issues with the bartender and chefs and perhaps it is due to the lack of staff or because them recovering from the pandemic, but the bartender had problems making the correct drink. The wait staff was nice. The food was very good. Francesca was very patient with a rude customer and we appreciated that.
Lovely place for a patio luncheon. Enjoyed the food, the service and the comfortable environment
Server was amazing and very polite! New her menu very well and when ask for recommendations she was on point!
The waitress was wonderful! My children have food allergies and she listened and was able to answer all of my questions.
Food was fair. Service was AWFUL.
We were served a delicious lobster flatbread. No small plates. No napkins. No utensils. Couldn’t flag down a server - any server for a ful 5 - 10 minutes.
Our entrees were adequate - a basic pasta dish and the crab cakes. We went to the rest room while waiting for our check and were going to request to go containers bc while not all that good, for the price, might as well make a lunch out if it. When we returned our plates were cleared. No one asked if we were thru; no communication at all. Are you kidding me???
Now in fairness they did make up new entrees for us to take home but where is the training at this establishment. No manager ever came by to ask we were or apologize for either error. I doubt they were even aware.
Food was abysmal. Undercooked meat and fish. Service spotty. Only redeeming thing is the view outside.
We enjoyed our meal...we all had seafood which was very fresh and tasty. Our server was very attentive and friendly she made our dining experience most enjoyable..
I will definitely be returning.
Ian was terrific. We weren’t rushed. I normally opt to order appetizers 1st then order the main plate when they arrive. No issue here. The hostess was also quite accommodating when we discovered that we were getting blasted by the air and relocated us.
Went here for a friends birthday brunch. Had a reservation and they offered to seat us at the bar. Asked to be seated at a regular table instead and the host just walked off leaving us unsure if they had a reservation in the system or what was going on. He came came back a few minutes later and sat us in front of the kitchen door. The brunch was just ok. There was no omelette station or so we thought until we hunted it down. The waitress barely came by to see if we needed anything. Had to flag her down for another drink and the bill and something else. The table was bussed quickly which was the only real good thing. The food options were good but much smaller than it used to be.
Nothing worse then paying top dollar and getting very little in return. Ordered seafood platter that was great. Drinks were great but $20 each. Apps and main course was such small portions left there starving. Actually went home and ate again.. I had steak frittes.. steak was so small and wasn't even quality. But place is beautiful and service was great. But definitely won't go back.
After being seated 28 minutes after our scheduled reservation, we were put in a crowded dining room that was crazy loud. We were given the lunch menus so our selections were unavailable at dinner and our waiter disappeared for another 20 minutes while we looked at the correct menu. The food was mediocre at best and insanely over priced for the quality. Really disappointing over all.
I go quite frequently, and it's always a terrific experience.
Thus was our first time at McCloone's Boathouse and we weren't disappointed! Our request for a table on the patio was honored and the service was wonderful! The entire staff are welcoming and helpful. Food was outstanding.
