McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston
Very good meal, quiet and able to hear conversation, which was good. Swordfish was excellent!
Looks old and tried! Need to be more creative face lift to facility and menu.
We most recently dined at McCormick & Schmicks for a special occasion. We planned to relax and were in no hurry. Jesse made those plans work with seriously OUTSTANDING service -- always there when we needed him, but no hovering and no pressure. It's that fine line that makes for excellent wait staff!
We always feel like we are really treated well when go here. They try hard to make sure we are happy with the service, etc. Food was very good and so was service.
Always a good solid meal. Booths are nice, comfortable and allowed us to have a business discussion without issues.
Elizabeth was the best waiter we’ve had in a long while. In fact we interacted with the host and manager. They were both exceptional as well. The mgr was genuinely remarkable!
The service was a bit slow, but it was Mother's Day, so they were very busy. Our waiter was very courteous and made a good wine recommendation for my steak. He didn't check in very often though. The food was excellent as always.
Understandably, it was Mother’s Day at 2 pm but the service was hit or miss. I waited 45 minutes for an iced tea. The food was awful and cooked improperly. The eggs Benedict were hard-cooked, the crab cakes were soggy and my scallops were over cooked and rubbery. The raw oysters were shucked by someone in a hurry or didn’t know how as there were cracked shells in all of them. It was a good restaurant 10 years ago but it’s pretty much just an overpriced seafood Denny’s with apologies to Denny’s.
Service was outstanding. Lobster was chewy. We’ve been to the restaurant several times and it’s been fine in the past but this time the food just wasn’t that good.
We decided to try a new restaurant for Mother’s Day. We made brunch reservations based on word of mouth and the menu available online. When we arrived, the menu was different and had much fewer options that would be appealing to my teenage children. I ordered the bananas foster French toast, very disappointed in the quality. It seemed like two slices of bagged bread thrown on the griddle. No bananas foster sauce, few walnuts that were not candied. The value for cost is disparate. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits; shrimp was bland but the grits were very good. Coconut shrimp app was very good.
Great service and food. A good choice for Mothers' Day....kid friendly food, too.
Poached egg portions of Eggs Benedict slightly overdone. Server and table help reached across patrons to deliver and remove courses.
Went here for Mother's day brunch and had a delicious meal. Service was spectacular, though the menu suffered from a lack of variety. I guess given that this is a steak & seafood place, I should have probably expected that the menu would be 95% in that wheelhouse -- still, I expected a few more brunch-style staples. Overall a great brunch experience!
This restaurant offers good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. EnjoY!
First visit was for Mother’s Day. Staff and food were wonderful. We will definitely be back again.
Decent food great service.
Loved the chopped salad with grilled chicken - very fresh and delicious. Service was excellent.
The service was prompt and courteous
It was my daughter’s 30th birthday, so we were seated in a lovely, private booth. Everyone was very attentive, and the food was delicious.
It was definitely the best dining experience that my wife and I ever experienced. The service and attention to detail was top notch.
Worse steak house Ever!! We made our decision to dine here based on their website menu. When we arrived we discovered that prime ribs weren’t even on the menu?! What kind of steakhouse doesn’t offer prime ribs?? We were each given different menus which they also had to correct.
The meal was delicious. I liked the way the entree was served with the sides chosen by the chef.
The wall enclosed booth was an added Bonus having a two-year-old with us, and the appearance of the Easter bunny just capped an enjoyable meal.
Easter - it was outstanding food and service. Easter bunny was a really sweet touch. Family from out of town truly enjoyed the entire experience. You’ve earned lifetime customers :)
Our April 21st visit was probably our 6th visit to McCormick & Schmidt and the only reason we continue going is because we occasionally receive gift cards to this place from our kids. I’m guessing they purchased them at Costco for 20% off which I don’t have a problem with I just wanted to share this with readers of my review. If you are an AARP member you get an additional 10% off food items as well. Even with the discounts I don’t think you get your money’s worth. There is really nothing wrong with the place just grossly overpriced. My wife had the baked stuffed shrimp for around $26.00 which was good but not great. I had the shrimp scampi for $24.00 which wasn’t bad but tasted very similar to what I would have gotten at Friday’s from about $10.00 less. Our entries were among the least expensive on the menu. A glass of wine starts at around $8 per glass. Again, McCormick & Schmidt’s isn’t bad but there are much better and less expensive places right around the corner that I think you will enjoy more.
The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was adequate , not classy but pleasant. Food quality and presentation vert poor for the price!
OUR SERVER WAS AWSOME. She was a true professional.
Always satisfied with everything about this location.
We can always count on McCormick & Schmick's for quality food and service. Their location in Reston is convenient. The restaurant staff is very professional.
Service was poor. Server took drink orders for two diners and then two more diners a few minutes later. Brought the second two and totally forgot about the first two. All drinks were empty before we saw him again. We ordered a second round of drinks and food for four. One of our diners was very clear about no dairy. She ordered simple trout and veggies. After an excessively long wait, dinner arrived. Her trout was sitting on a bed of creamy mashed au gratin potatoes and a bit of lump crab on top with a melted butter sauce. After the server finally returned to the table, she explained the situation. He took the plate away. A great deal of time passed before her plate came back. By that time, everyone else was completely done eating. No effort was made to compensate, no apologies. Waited forever for the bill.
Food was just okay. No way we go back to this McCormick location. Lots of superior options in the same center.
We always enjoyed this restaurant & continue to do so. We stayed away for quite some time because of Reston Town Center's atrocious new parking system which is not only expensive but very hard to use. Now that the policy has been partially modified, we've returned, at least for dinner. Not for lunch since parking fees still apply after the first hour for lunch! We also preferred it even more before it was sold to Landry. Unfortunately Landry has insisted on raising prices so we don't go quite as frequently as we once did. Landry also removed our favorite appetizer from the menu, the crab & avocado tower. It was fabulous--would love to see it come back. But food & service otherwise were as great as ever. Warmly recommend it!
Although the service is hit-or-miss, the food is always very good, and the setting is upscale but comfortable. We loved the little alcove that gave our party a quiet setting for our dinner.
Waiter/waitress are friendly.
It is a good place to bring your business partner, customer and significant others.
Nice place and atmosphere. Food ok but expensive for quality. Server very busy so service was slow for 5 pm on Sunday night. First visit to this chain and wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Thank you very much. It was a pleasure dining there
Service was prompt and attentive. Menu had an excellent set of choices. The Filet and crabcakes entree was prepared to perfection. Excellent value!
Awesome! The meal and service was excellent!
A most enjoyable dinner and wonderful St Patty Day
Initially, once seated, no one approached my table for upwards of 15 minutes when the manager finally came to our table and apologized.
Recently had a "date night" dinner with my wife at McCormick & Schmick and couldn't be happier with how the whole experience was. The waitress was kind, knowledgeable and always attending to our every need. I have an allergy to mammal meat and products (alpha-gal syndrome) and the staff were amazing in their obvious care to meet my needs and keep me safe. The manager personally addressed the issue first with me then with his head chef who also came to the table and assured me that his preparation followed my instructions. Wow! So impressed by this staff.
Oh and did I mention that the food was also amazing! I recommend McCormick & Schmick to all who appreciate this kind of quality of service and cuisine.
