Was absolutely delicious food, but a little on the pricey side for italian.
Always great value and quality. If I had to pick one downside it would be the noise level. However that also adds to the atmosphere so it’s not a huge deal!
We had a great time and catch up. Wines and service were great as always. Feel like food was missing something that night.
We visit maybe frank every few weeks and never dissapointed!
Good food albeit a bit too expensive. Ask for the waiter to bring the bottle out when ordering a glass as somebody suspected that what was brought out wasn’t what was in the menu.
Cocktails come in very small glasses.
If you don’t like very loud places you may want to avoid this place.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.
it was a lovely night beside waiting for our food even though the table next got seat 30min after us there got serve first . when we arrive there apologise for the delay and said The meat and cheese board was complementary which we were confuse . when all the meal arrive . I was still waiting for my meat and cheese board . which had already been eaten by the rest of the table. Our reg server sam said it already came out so i couldnt cancel it.
The food was nice however the wine was very expensive.
Overall nice restaurant with good atmosphere. One big flaw, none of the staff were willing to taste/ smell our corked wine saying it was the style of wine. Incorrect. Although Wine was promptly replaced, a little acknowledgment that our taste buds weren’t at fault, but the staffs lack of wine knowledge/ experience was.
We were a family of 4 with a 6.30pm booking. When booking via OpenTable, I was aware that they needed the table back by 8.30pm. We were seated at a shared table with low stools. Every time a waiter passed by they brushed my back as the passage way was clearly not big enough. The noise was unbearable and it was almost impossible to have any conversation across the table. Once our pizza plates had been cleared, the bill instantly appeared indicating it was time to leave. We were not ready to leave as we still had wine and wanted dessert. While the service was friendly, it felt like the main goal was to turn the tables over as quickly as possible. When we left the restaurant, 75mins after walking in the door (well before our allotted time given by OpenTable) there was a new group of people waiting to take our table, for they had a reservation was wanted to be seated.
To sum up - the food was very good. If you want a quick meal without time and space to relax or converse, then Maybe Frank might be for you. It's not for me.
Our 4th time dining at Maybe Frank and this was the first time I was really disappointed.
On previous visits we had great service and the antipasti/cocktails were delicious.
This time, our waiter seemed like he would rather be anywhere else than at work. Also, I decided to try one of their pasta dishes and really regretted it - my gnocchi tasted like mushy, bland white sauce. When the waiter asked how our food was I said “I’ve had some beautiful food here before but tonight I was really disappointed” to which he replied, “excellent, thank you”!
Overall, I really like this restaurant for its cocktails and great atmosphere. Would definitely return but only for drinks/antipasti, not main meals.
More than maybe.... Maybe Frank is the best fricking Pizza in the known universe..... Very good cocktails also....
For a venue that advertises itself as an Italian and expert with pizza, I was disappointed. I ordered ricotta, but the dollops were so big that the whole base was soggy, and there wasn't much else to the toppings so overall there wan't much flavour. It was 2 of us sharing one pizza and we still left 2 slices because it wasn't enjoyable. Started off with the veggie plank, and that was average too. I was expecting fresh and healthy, it was advertised as a selection of the vegetarian options - but it was fried bread, a few carrot sticks, some olives, one small triangle of cheese, a very tasty eggplant ragu, and not much else.
The tables of big groups all seemed to be having a good time, but long tables in a room that echoes - it gets very loud. The drinks were very good and the service was attentive without being over the top.
Quite noisy inside. Expensive too. Especially the wine.
Great wine list and fresh pizza!
Ambiance in the evening is fun and just what Randwick needs!
Delicious pizza, friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. However cocktail service was very slow, the first round of drinks arrived after we had already had started our mains and the second round took another 20 minutes to be made.
Excellent pizza and great service! Our favourite local to go out for dinner.
My wife and I had dinner at Maybe Frank for Valentines Day, this was our first visit to this Restaurant and we really loved it. We will def be back in the near future.
This was my second visit to Maybe Frank , the service is great, we went for a casual pizza after a movie. The food the first visit was great we had a couple of small plates and a pizza beautiful, this most recent visit the pizza was burnt I was so disappointed after the great experience the first time
Amazing service, with staff going above & beyond to check we were comfortable and everything was OK. It was more than ok ...the food is delicious and served in a great location. I will definetely return again & again!
Loved the food, the atmosphere and the vibe. The pizza was authentic and loved the Nutella pizza as well. The best place to go in the spot
Vince the owner is a magic host, great food, part of Italy in Randwick...........happy days
I have been here twice now, and they are consistently great. Great food, great service, reasonable price! This is now my favourite pizza shop in Sydney!
Loved it! The food was amazing and the staff made our experience so fun! Thanks for a great night :)
Definitely needs air-con or something as it was too hot to sit inside the restaurant on a hot summer's evening. Very tight space, so you are right on top of the next person.
I'm not a fan of the second seating scenario for 8pm. We felt rushed to eat and rushed to get out. It was an all you can eat pizza night. Pizza's were OK. Had better. I've had their pasta dishes there and they were very good. Wouldn't be rushing back in a hurry.
Great ambiance and vibe. Nice to get some authentic Italian food too. Service was friendly and attentive, pizza was good. Overall, I'm glad Maybe Frank has come to the neighborhood to inject some quality food offering to the area. Looking forward to coming back!
Randwick needed this! Perfect location! Best vibes. This is where you will find us all summer, Friday through to Saturday!
Fantastic neighborhood gem for pizza and cocktails.
Tried Maybe Frank on a Tuesday night which happened to be an all you can eat pizza night for $20. They didn't seem prepared for all the customers as we ended up waiting half an hour for our pizzas. Not good when we had to be out fairly early to accommodate 2 dinner seatings. We got a pizza we didn't even order, then got an extra one of a pizza we had already ordered. I'd give it another shot, but not on a Tuesday night.
First time here and always great to see new places to eat and drink in the Randwick area. Very busy, great food and reasonably priced. Service a bit dis-jointed and probably too many tables, we were right in the corner, which was no problem but it was right next to where the napkins, pizza stands and various other implements were stored so we had someone squeeze past us every 5 mins. Maybe do away with that table?? Apart from that a great place to eat for everyone.
Service was friendly, helpful and informative. The evening was very enjoyable with the food and cocktails served to perfection
Love how relaxed and fun this place is - from the atmosphere, to the genuinely friendly staff! Fast becoming a regular here!
Great night and the all you can eat $20 Tuesdays are unbelievable value for money as the pizzas are delicious and fresh! The best all you can eat pizza in Sydney. Good vibe and great decor. Gets loud later in the evening so request a table in the corner. Very attentive staff to say they had many tables consistently ordering pizzas
Heard this place was opening and offered all you can eat pizza for $20 on a Tuesday. I wasn't left disappointed, the pizzas were really tasty, my favourite being the four cheese pizza at the end.
The staff were both friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is nicely designed. Would be good to go with a group of friends and make the most of all you can eat on a Tuesday. I have recommended to friends and I will be going again.
Restaurant was exceptionally noisy so hard to have a decent conversation Entrees were ok. Pizza was very average. Won't return
Absolutely loved Maybe Frank ! The service was outstanding the food was fantastic and atmosphere was great . Have already recommended it to friends and am making a returning booking soon .
The Randwick restaurant is nowhere near as good as the Surry Hills restaurant. The acoustics are really bad so your yelling all night!!
