Sunday funday with family! Fantastic server, good atmosphere and great food!
Server was amazing, she made our experience flawless. Stuffed avocado and tamales apps were perfectly delicious starters.
Very happy with everything the service the waitress the manager very attentive with the customer I really like it I will come back again
Food didn’t have much flavor. Disappointed by taste.
As always great food and sangria. Service was a bit slow, perhaps due to it being a Saturday. One of my favorite places to go in Oak Park.
Wonderful as always! Love Maya!
Nice to try something g new but the food was just ok, fish tacos were not seasoned enough and cerviche was chunky not chopped up well like most. Overall I give it 3 stars :) great drinks but parking was difficult as well.
Service was shaky. Waiter seemed distracted. Odd manner.
Food is very pricey and for the amount not worth it
My wife and I sat outside and it was wonderful. We’ve been here a few times, but never on a taco Tuesday! $4 tacos that are amazing and they give you so many options to choose from. Continues to impress each time we go.
Maybe Tuesday isn’t a good night to go to a restaurant. I had made a reservation for 6 at 7:30pm. We arrived at 7:35pm, the restaurant was basically empty. We were told to wait while they set the table. Strange.
As for the meal, two in the group are vegans and enjoyed the mushroom tostado and the veggies enchiladas respectively. Two others had the chicken enchiladas and said they were okay. My husband had the carne asada and said it was fine. My ropa vieja over polenta cake was also fine. The fact that no one thought anything g they had was extraordinary, is telling. Other times we have eaten here was definitely above average.
Outstanding Taco Tuesday feast on the patio! Perfect weather, friendly staff and terrific tacos....but don't forget the cucumber margaritas!
Father’s day brunch. Wonderful brunch options including drinks!
Superb Father's Day Brunch! The variety of offerings was very unique. It was unlike any other brunch we have ever had. A combination of traditional brunch fare pared with delicious Latin dishes like ceviche, nachos, platanos de ropa vieja, Mexican egg rolls, tamales, and carne asada. It was all delicious. Wish it was a regular Sunday offering instead of just on special holidays! As always, the food and service at Maya Del Sol are both outstanding!!
Always a great dining experience at Maya! The Sunday Brunch was amazing.
Great Father's Day Brunch. Food was excellent. The noise level was a bit too much - considering many uncontrolled children screaming or yelling with no restraint.
Father’s Day brunch. Very good. Didn’t have to wait in line. Food was hot and tasty. Server was attentive and pleasant. Thought it was pricey but overall good experience.
All drinks were delicious! All 7 of us ordered different meals and there was only one doggy bag. Will definitely come back again and highly recommend to others.
Server was over attentive initially and then disappeared. Had to wait awhile for the check. Not bad but we were ready to go.
Sat in the patio, which is a family favorite. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere so lively.
Perfect from our friendly welcome though our final sips of wine and coffee. The service was extraordinary, the food was excellent and the drinks were delightful...all of f this happening at a wonderful table on the beautiful patio. We were entertaining out at f town guests and they now know why Maya is one of our very favorite dinner destinations. Cheers to Margi and the entire team.
My boiled beef dish with polenta was not very tasty. The carne asada and the shrimp dish that others at my table had, were much better.
We went for Sunday brunch and were pleased with the menu selections. The service was excellent considering how busy it was.
5 of us had Sunday brunch and enjoyed it a lot. The orange juice is fresh (as advertised), coffee is very good, and there are good brunch options. The pancakes with fruit and cajeta were very good - the only complaint is very little fruit. The french toast with fruit, cajeta, ice cream was a big portion for a big eater and you could get it without ice cream. The steak and eggs were delicious. The restaurant had loud music and was quite full so it was difficult to hear across the table.
Zack and the management were amazing!
Food was great. Patio was awesome. The experience exceeded my expectations
Pretty upset about this visit! Would not come back!
Maya del Sol is always fun but especially on the patio on a summer evening. Beautifully designed, everything complements: flowers, decor, food, drinks, service! If I went out weekly, Maya would be my go-to place!
Went for a friends birthday dinner. It was good the server was very friendly and provided us with a birthday dessert.
Went with high hopes as it came highly recommended. The guacamole was very, very good. We started with appetizers and our friend had the ceviche, which was quite good. My husband had the Avocado Relleno but the crab was really fishy. I had the Sopes de Tinga and the corn masa cups were oily. Worse, the filling was bland rendering the entire dish tasteless. On the waiter’s recommendation, I ordered the trout special at $26 and it had clearly been sitting in the oven for a very long time. Not only was the fish overcooked, it was too salty to eat. My husband ordered the fish tacos, fried, and again, there was no taste to the filling. Our friend had the Carne Asada and he said it was fine.
On the up side, the margaritas were tasty with freshly squeezed juice, and the abuelita skillet cookie was good.
It’s too bad that our overall impression of the food is heavy, overcooked and under seasoned (except for salty trout), and for some of the fish, just past the sell-by date.
We come here a lot and it’s usually better than this last time. We were placed in a room away from everyone, only two other tables were being occupied in that room, do it immediately felt like they lost my reservation, which I think was the case. The waitress kept apologizing for being new which is fine, but there would be stretches where we would lose her for 30 minutes. The dinner was a graduation dinner for my son. If I would have known this would have happened I would have booked at Citrine.
This was my first outing since the passing of my Mom in April. My sister and I had a wonderful time!
A fun atmosphere, but so-so on the food quality. Some things good, some bad, many very average. There really is no sweet spot. Sent my meal back the last two times I have visited - tacos, nonetheless. How difficult can it be?
The scallops dish was amazing, the salmon tartar lacked flavor, the mezcal mule was really good.
We had a large party of 12, and we were treated incredibly well. The food was phenomenal, and it was perfectly timed for all guests. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience!
The food was excellent. Service was slow and spotty. The waiter seemed to have too many tables and kept forgetting about us.
I hope the Owners will spend some money soon to refurbish the restaurant. I realize its popularity is wearing the furniture out. Otherwise May Del Sol is an Oak Park gem.
Family get together
Excellent food and service.
Went there for a celebration with the family. Patio was open so we ate outside. Waiter was good, water glasses never were empty and the food was excellent. Can't recommend this place enough.
Great service, manager was so kind & Ami was a great server.
