Matilda Bay Restaurant
Matilda Bay Restaurant delivers contemporary and fresh dishes daily, the perfect menu to be enjoyed for those specials occasions or get togethers with friends and family.
The delicious menu includes dishes such as Grilled Fish of the day, Duck and a selection of premium steaks. The wine list is nothing less than impressive featuring a large number of Australia’s finest wines.
The stunning views make Matilda Bay Restaurant a wonderful choice to have lunch or dinner while gazing out onto the lights of the city or yachts by the water. Making a visit to Matilda Bay Restaurant memorable.
Yes, only if Matilda Bay returns to what it was a year or 2 ago.
The ambience was excellent and we had a nice table with a lovely river view. The service was good, with polite and attentive wait staff. The food however was mediocre, in particular the seafood dishes we ordered. The seafood (fish and prawns) was tasteless and rubbery and seemed to have been frozen. The food presentation was also very mediocre, hence poor value for around $45 (side dishes of vegetables and salad were extra). However, when we complained, we were promptly offered an alternative without any fuss. We chose a meat alternative which we were happy with.
We had an amazing lunch, Thankyou. Food was amazing, service impeccable, amazing view of swan river with 2 black swans swimming by, my sisters and i enjoyed the ambience.
Great service, very nice and quiet, beautiful view, food was good portions and tasty.
You cannot beat the view from this venue. Tables were very close together, so staff bumped into chairs and patrons. Food was good but for the price - it was not good value.
It was a wonderful lunch and an amazing experience. Cannot wait to return for an evening meal.
What a beautiful view, this restaurant has a very plush and welcoming atmosphere.
The food flavours are lovely and a complete surprise. Ok some may think it is a tad expensive but it is value for money we felt. If you have a special occasion to celebrate or you just like the good things in life, then Matilda Bay is for you.
Service was excellent, however the food was average.
The food continues to be sub par for the price. It’s close but I prefer other restaurants.
Great food of exceptional quality in a fabulous setting
Little mistake before I arrived, received an email saying my reservation was cancelled 30mins before the booking time. Once arrived everything was ok.
This was one of the most overpriced meals I have had in Perth in recent memory. IN FACT it was the most overpriced meal I have ever had in Perth in the last 22 years. Price aside, the quality and presentation was substandard and the delay between ordering and receiving the food was also unacceptable. By contrast with the meal we had the night before at Nobu, it is clear that Matilda Bay does not seem to have any sense of respect for the culinary knowledge or integrity of their clientele.
Window table didn't disappoint with sunset views over the Swan River and to the City - a tranquil setting with the restaurant being on the banks of the Swan. The discreet but efficient table service was outstanding. Recommend the Fresh Oysters , Hoi Sin Duck was also a hit and the steamed treacle dessert was delicious, just like Granma used to make ! Couldn't fault anything - the prices reflect the high standards that the restaurant provides. Close parking a problem on a Saturday night with multiple events at the restaurant, but there is an overflow carpark a few minutes away.
The ambience and views were beautiful and this was one of the reasons we chose the venue. We were celebrating my son's 30th birthday who had flown in from Sydney, along with his Canadian girlfriend, and his sister and partner (also from Sydney). We chose a 6:15 pm time slot so that we could enjoy the views during the daylight hours and as the sun was setting.
We were disappointed that the 'birthday boy' was unable to have his cocktail of choice as the restaurant had "run out of one of the ingredients". In addition, the 'birthday boy's' brother was unable to have his first choice of main meal 'the aged beef', as the restaurant "had run out". I was surprised that a restaurant could 'run out' of so many ingredients. The servings of food were delicious but very small for the prices that were being charged, especially for the men at our table.
It was a lovely touch for the restaurant to provide a Happy Birthday dessert, however, it was just as we were paying the bill at the table, so the timing was a little awkward.
Whilst the 'birthday boy' did not express his disappointment to me, I know that he felt let down by the experience. He is used to examplary dining experiences and as this was such a special occasion, overall it was not a memorable experience.
Food OK - but menu needs to be more balanced - Poached lemon chicken for an entree was far too heavy though and far too much starch for a starter. The attending wait person had no knowledge of the wine menu and after three tries at communicating our choice to her, we were instructed to "show her" the menu - this was repeated for the second bottle. One of our dessert/coffee orders was forgotten - getting attention was a chore. We usually tip.
We enjoyed our lunch on 24/12 & found the staff extremely attentive & efficient.
Like all restaurants today, the food is good but wine is triple the price you can buy it for at your local!
We did very much enjoy this choice of venue & food for a birthday celebration.
Food not worthy of the high prices.
My wife was particularly dissatisfied with the snapper which was dry and tasteless - almost like it was overcooked in a microwave.
I enjoyed my scotch fillet steak but it was $48 for just the steak alone on the plate.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting so it’s a real shame the food could not match the surroundings.
As always fantastic service and faultless food. We have been a few times and it never disappoints
Always love coming to Matilda Bay for our yearly Christmas celebration. We do come other times also but Christmas is a given.
But this year I cant say that I was overly impressed with the service that we received. Food always great.
We still enjoyed our night thought.
Great location, staff were friendly, food was amazing
excellent lunch, food was lovley & service excellent. As with many Western Suburb venues, over priced but better value with Entertainment card. Nice was to round off our daughter's graduation
We chose the set Menu for $95.00 per. Person.
We had an entree ,main meal and desert for this price.
The drinks were extra.’
I was very impressed with the service . The staff were very friendly and professional.
The location of this restaurant and the view from it make it a great place for a meal. Seeing the moon come up over the boats and the city is quite special. Service was attentive and asked if there was an occasion. Which later came back as a congratulations desert plate. While the wine list was huge, it was a little on the expensive side I thought, with not a lot of moderately priced wines. The food was lovely, possibly a little too fiddly, with al ot of flavours going on. Everyone liked the scollops.
We were very happy with the service we received and were very pleasantly surprised when the waitress brought a dessert plate with happy anniversary on it
Food was excellent beautiful views. One of the staff in particular was really friendly and helpful. They also brought out a congratulations plate which i wasnt expecting. Nice touch to finish off rhe evening😀
The food was exquisite - every course was superb (we had 3 courses). The service was exceptional - very attentive and welcoming but also respectful and professional, knowing when to give us space. We were made to feel special. Being lucky enough to be seated at a table right by the window to have the view of the river was the icing on the cake ! We had an amazing experience.
Always a pleasure to get a meal at The Matilda Bay Restaurant. One of my favourites :)
We have been to Matilda Bay on several occasions and it never fails to please. The view is amazing and the staff are great.
My fiancee and I are having our wedding reception at the Matilda Bay Restaurant so we checked it out - and we're so happy! Amazing service, food, ambience and overall experience.
Matilda Bay Restaurant has a fabulous location in the banks of the Swan River. Restaurant starting to look a little tired. Food and drinks fabulous, however, expensive. Service good.
The fish (snapper) was dry and excessively salty. Other choices were fine.
Fantastic food & service! Highly recommend. Staff are really lovely & make the experience great.
Magnificent experience. Great food, service and location. Thank you for such a great night.
The food was outstanding although I found the main course selection limited as I don't eat seafood so there were only two options for me unless I ordered a salad. Fortunately what I did order was absolutely delicious and it was refreshing to see enough sides served with the pork.
Great venue - beautiful view, delicious food and drinks. Service was excellent. Highly recommend
Everything is always fantastic!!!😁😁😁
I go quite often and love the place👍👍👍
Not with the meals we ate. My steak was one third fat.
We had a lovely night at the restaurant. The food was superb as was the service and atmosphere.
The food was rather bland, and we were not supplied with serving forks or spoons making it difficult to get the food onto our plates without dropping it. Nice location and the ambience was good.
Truely amazing and beautiful location , great service and fantastic food, always celebrate important occasions at our favourite restaurant
Located in a beautiful spot. Wonderful evening had by all. 😊
