Match Burger Lobster
First timer. Even on a rainy day, the place was full! Great taste, great beer selection, wonderful experience. I recommend!
Maybe it has changed but I recall the food being much better last time
The prices are pretty insane so unless the food is amazing I struggle with the prices We had a lobster roll. A match mini burger and hotdog, an order of fries, a lemonade and cheap wine and it was $80?
Delicious food in a fun, casual atmosphere! The fried clams and lobster roll were outstanding. Attentive service.
Meet some friends for dinner. First time here and loved it. Love that it’s open air restaurant. Had the lobster burger and it was incredible! Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing food in a casual setting. We had a 5-star meal including their signature burger, a very tasty ahi tuna burger and crispy yet gooey fried mozzarella. The best part was the appetizer special - bread with ricotta, fried tomatoes & balsamic marinated tomatoes. Oh my goodness it was amazing amazing!! We will certainly be back!
One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The lobster roll/mini burger combo was perfect for my husband who wanted to try both!
We really liked Match Burger Lobster. The restaurant puts its resources into simple, fresh ingredients, prepared with skill, and excellent service - as opposed to image. Not an ounce of pretension is in the place. Also we appreciated the lack of loud music. Altogether we had a delightful meal.
Always the best everything! We go there pretty often and will go again and again! Highly recommend!thank you!
Perfect, light experience on the patio
Two small lobster rolls $60 dollars for lunch. Big roll little lobster.
Great overall experience. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Simple casual place to eat with a unique menu. Neighborhood gem.
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait for 30 minutes to get seated. This was a disappointing way to start the evening. The staff didn't apologize until I bought up the inconvenience.
So delicious! Wish we came here sooner! Ahi burger and blooming oysters was delish! Burgers and fresh chips amazing along with shishito peppers ! Yum!!
We've eaten there about 5 times and always have the mini slider and lobster roll....excellent every time....
We were excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately the cracked lobster was inedible. The manager claimed that the lobsters were too young (another table went theirs back 2 times). Don’t serve them then especially after you know they aren’t ready. Disappointing experience. Maybe try the burgers??
Fun gluten free choices. The staff makes the whole experience great. Hats off to the staff and chef!
Had lobster burger - it was good.
We had a reservation and asked for patio seating since it was a nice warm night - no guarantee but they were able to provide.
The lady who seated and waited on us was nice.
Great food and service! Went for a date night and we ate inside. We both travel to Maine regularly and were impressed to find a restaurant that makes lobster rolls that are as fresh as Maine. Highly recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Food was INCREDIBLE but there were screaming kids. Loved the atmosphere and would come again. BEST LOBSTER ROLL AND ONION RINGS EVER!!!!
The food is so good that I don't care anything about the rest of the place. Nonetheless, the service is sharp. The waitstaff knows how each beer selection tastes. The casualness of the restaurant makes one relax completely after a day of work or school. Honestly, there is nothing I would change.
Match never fails to please!!
Super accommodating, always the freshest lobsters!
Lamb burgers were absolutely delicious!!!
I'll start off my saying I'm totally baffled by the 3 and under reviews about this place. Great location, quality, delish food, and good (enough) service.
Many of the reviews say the portions are small for the money... I say, we are all spoiled Americans who don't understand portion sizing and price-per-portion up-charging.
First of all, people... it's LOBSTER. Lobster is expensive no matter where you are/go. So, $18-29 for lobster meals is pretty standard in CT. I got the brunch lobster Benedict special ($24). It was enough food (with no appetizers) that I took half home for another meal... and it was delicious: fresh, perfectly cooked lobster (on corn bread - unique and different!) with a poached egg and a very interesting aioli, plus a side salad.
2 people in our party did the "mini sampler" one with the lobster roll and one with the carpet bagger slider... so good! We also had someone try the standard cold lobster roll, which is probably the ONLY meal that could be considered a small-ish portion. Even so, it was fresh and delicious.
All in all, this is a local lobster place I would definitely return to!
I ordered the lobster burger off the specials menu. It was packed full of delicious lobster meat and very flavorful.
Great service with a welcome attitude. The lobster burger was great and of course the French fries and onion ring combo is always great.
Match Burger Lobster was packed and noisy, but we ate inside and it was fine. I ordered a beer, but you don't serve cold beer in a warm plastic "glass". It absorbs your body heat quickly and doesn't stay cold. Had the caesar salad which, at $10, is barely acceptable for 6 slices of romaine, cut up, served with croutons, and a dressing that was dry, not creamy and tasty. The seafood chowder was okay, that's all. Should be memorable. Wasn't. The "shishito" (Japanese) peppers were lightly breaded and deep fried, and way too oily. Not the way it should be prepared to get the best flavor out of these delicious peppers. Thin deep fried onion rings were okay. That's about it. The lobster in the brioche bun was cooked nicely and tasty, but truly in a bun. Not a roll. A small bun that held at most, an ice cream scoop of lobster for $24. Are you kidding me? The foot long hot dog was way too salty. Unfortunately, Match Burger Lobster is overrated and overpriced. I can't imagine why it's so popular, but that's Westport. When people overpay, they like to believe they had great food and, well ... that's why restaurants are lucky if they last two years.
fresh Bloom fried oysters and a great burger and crispy hand-cut fries, can't beat Match, especially with outdoor seating, most reasonable prices
Great fresh food, very tasty, prices are reasonable
A friend mentioned this place to me and with no dinner plans this past Saturday we decided to give it a try. That it was on OpenTable was a plus. We found parking on the street a block away. This is a small place with dining outside on a patio. My husband said his seafood chowder--a very large cup portion--was excellent. Lobster roll can be order hot or cold and our server recommended the hot version which was excellent. Full of lobster served on a brioche roll with homemade chips. Side orders of fries and onion rings at $3 each were a bargain and really good. I noticed that most people seated near us had ordered burgers which also looked very good. Prices are reasonable; wine & beer are available. We liked this place very much and will return.
Love the food and relaxed atmosphere! We have eaten there a few times now and always pleased with food and service! Great fun restaurant!
Our server was lovely and made up for a very odd 90 minute wait. Food was good but a bit off due to the wait.
Amazing ! Best lobster roll I’ve ever had . All meat none of the yucky cartilage. Brioche bun was incredible: will be back soon !
Very fun and surprisingly good food with a staff that cares.
Very good, but way too pricey for such a small lobster roll
The hostess was wonderful. It was super busy and an unusually hot evening. She was friendly, welcoming and took great care of us. The food was wonderful as usual. We had the soft shell crab and lobster burger - so delish. And the frozen Rose, amazing! We will definitely be back.
Decent food. Burgers are the best choice. Skip the soggy fries. Nothing special about the onion rings either.
Food was good. Waiter was polite and very apologetic for an order being talked over by staff and patrons for about 30 minutes before being brought to our table. They made a new burger and compensated us with complimentary dessert. It gets very busy there. Had 8pm reservations and was told it would be a 45 minute wait for a table outside, lucky we got there at a time when a table by the entrance was open and we got to have it. Not sure what the point of reservations are if you won’t be accommodated upon arrival.
Never had a bad meal at Match Burger Lobster. The match burger is phenomenal, the shrimp cocktail is outstanding, and the view is lovely.
Steamers and Soft Shell crab special were awesome. Lobster roll was pretty great, but they seem to have reduced the amount of lobster in the last year. Overall, I love it here, but REALLY wish they would use glasses as opposed to single use plastic cups. We need all need to be adding less to the landfill. I hope they change this VERY soon.
Lobster for eight, no problem!
Onion rings! Please just keep them coming!
