Our waitress Leena (sp?) was superb. She made our meal that much more enjoyable and we would go back to dine with her specifically at any time!
Always delicious! Great vibe. Service is amazing!
Food was horrible, sesames unseasoned. Definitely my worst experience at Mastros. Food was under cooked and extremely tough. Atmosphere was loud, almost felt like I was a club. The acoustics at the restaurant don’t let you have a conversation, my date felt uncomfortable.
I happened to show up 45 minutes early with the anticipation of traffic. The hostess ask if I would like to be seated & I said yes only to be told I had to wait closer to my time. The area I was seated had plenty of open tables. My waiter mentioned I was waiting a pretty long time & asked if was waiting for other guest & I said no. With that said I don’t understand why I had to wait especially if there was plenty of open tables.
The service was attentive and polite. The food and drinks were made to order and well worth it. Definitely a place for a special occasion!
I had a 33oz steak that was full of fat and gristle. Not worth it
Fantastic! Amadeo my server was wonderful and my dinner was out of this world!
Favorite place to go on special occasions. It’s a bit on the pricey side but the steak is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They always are ready to help and have a really good selection of scotch. If you can come here I would 100% recommended.
PS: get the warm butter cake. You will not be disappointed
The whole staff was super friendly and the food was delicious.
Our food was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed our steaks, side dishes, and desserts, but the service was okay. Our server wasn’t as attentive and upbeat as we have normally received at this location.
Not for celebrating with your kids. Food price is $$$$$ of what you get. Ambience, if your mingling with friends while enjoying your alcohol...
We were celebrating our birthdays and sat in the lounge for dinner. The band was excellent!! They played the songs we requested and even sang Happy Birthday to us. The food was great, as usual. Mastro's is always a good dining experience, but the band made it extra special this time.
My husband and I have lived in Newport Beach for 40 years. This was our first visit to Mastro’s. We were disappointed! It was very noisy, my husband’s rack of lamb was seriously undercooked, and my ribeye was very tough and not very tasteful. Our server was very nice and friendly. We probably won’t return.
Food was very good, as usual (I have eaten at multiple Mastro's). The service was decent, but a little slow. That's the good. The bad is how LOUD this place is. Super super crowded, even at 6 pm, so it was already pretty loud from everyone talking to those at their tables. That, I could handle. But then the music started. Not sure how many musicians, because they were in another room - but that didn't stop them from being loud throughout the restaurant. There was a male singer, a female singer, and backup music (drums, bass, keyboard, at a minimum). The backup music might have been pre-recorded, I'm not sure. But it was LOUD, especially the bass. And when the music kicked in, of course everyone now has to talk a lot louder so they can be heard over the noise of the music. It was the very definition of a cacophony. And because of the slow service, the meal lasted a very very long and loud two-plus hours. Couldn't wait to get out of there and won't go back to that location. It's a shame, but that's life.
Great food excellent service.
6 year anniversary. Alright, been to Mastro’s a ton of times and I’ve always been thrown into a really small too tight 2 top that is unbearably uncomfortable. Ended up getting tossed into a larger table with a simple request that I was too fat, haha! They did it. A+: server was super cool, but never came back to check if my food was alright. Ordered tomahawk med rare came out insanely rare which is fine for me but too under for my gf, who didn’t really care cause she doesn’t like to bother people and neither do i. Oddly enough 30+ minutes passed and nobody checked. Didn’t flag our waiter down or even mention it because it’s kind of expected and given in any fine dining scenario for them to anticipate our needs if that..if that’s what it still is. Overall decent, for the price we paid we always expect a little more. Maybe a “hey how’s your food doing” would be cool, thought it was part of the steps of service of the 2 bite 2 minute rule guys??
Came here for our 24th wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint! Food was amazing, service was impeccable. I highly recommend!
Always a favorite!!
Sea Bass was over cooked. Server did not say anything when they cleared the table. Should have said something after paying $51 for a piece of fish. I did not want to make an issue of it in front of our guests. Lobster mash potatoes had a pool of butter.
Great food, great service. They need to enforce a dress code.
Service and food were on point as usual.
Spectacular as always
Never a bad experience. Our waiter was professional and readily available. I forgot his name. Too bad
Ther food and service we received (party of 6) was exemplary (excellent). As far as I’m concerned Mastro’s is back to being a fine dining experience again!
