Mastro's Ocean Club - Fort Lauderdale
I am normally a huge fan of Mastro’s around the country but this experience was not great. The service was below average and the food was not up Mastro’s standards....by a long shot. I will stick to the Chicago location and not return here.
Sharon our waitress was so nice and made our experience even better
My favorite restaurant! Best service and best steaks. Especially love the butter cake dessert
Overall great place. Arrived by boat and the dock master was not trained on how to secure a large boat. The waiter forgot a few drinks and some food at a table of 11. The bathroom attendants in my opinion are odd and a bit old school. Would definitely return again to Mastro’s.
Good food and service. Outdoor and indoor dining options.
Indoors is very loud especially when live entertainment is on stage.
Only annoying thing is the Men's Room attendant. Not necessary. Felt like I was in a Strip Club.
Food grossly overpriced, drinks and dessert nice. Come for ambience, not a meal.
Excellent service! The manager Julianne is fantastic, she came over to our table to check on us and introduce herself.
Great experience!!!
Thank you
The restaurant is very warm and inviting. Wait staff amazing. Wine list top notch! Lump crab meat the best.
The ambiance and service was outstanding. I was not as happy with the food. I had the bone in ribeye and it was just not as good as I think it should have been for the price. We ordered brussell sprouts, but be careful, b/c they will ask you do you want that with bacon. If you say yes, it's a $14 upcharge and they did not tell us that. The baked potato was $14, which I think is excessive. I would go there for the ambiance and service, again, though.
The view was amazing, the food excellent, the service stunk. Our waitress was very polite but she should be doing something else as she forgot so many items and could not remember anything. Yes, the place is beautiful and the food excellent but they charge like their restaurant in Manhattan. We will not be back anytime soon...a shame.
I have been to Maestros in LA. Malibu, Vegas and Scottsdale. The Ft. Lauderdale location needs to step up their game. There is no rhythm to the service. My complaints are so many I can’t even list them. Leave it at this: really poor service and not acceptable!
The food is not the problem. It is up to standard. But when it is presented in such an unorganized fashion, it too loses its luster.
We have been 3 time to this location and three strikes they are off our list....
Good luck, FLL. I hope you get it figured out
Thanksgiving day dinner with the family. The seafood tower was great! The steaks were just ok. Very disappointing for a place like this.
Fantastic and romantic
The overall experience is a dinner to remember! Our server James was excellent and made great recommendations. All the staff was attentive and friendly. And the entertainment (singers) were great. The star of the show - was the meat! Chef cooked perfectly! Will be back soon.
Outstanding in every way!
Pricey? Yes
Worth it? YOU BET
The food is delicious & the service is perfect - can’t wait ro go back!
Anniversary
Shut Up and Listen!" Mediocrity is not a goal, it is an example of failure. The website menu indicated the availability of foie gras, but oh, no, we have a new chef and he's changed things. I guess you can ruin Del Frisco's and you can ruin Mastro's, too. Enjoy your "success."
I’ve eaten at mastros more times than i can count but this time- for some reason.. it wasn’t outstanding. Shrimp cocktail was a little fishy, sides were just warm.. wasn’t blown away (like normal). Butter cake is always superb!
The up selling from the waiter was nothing short of a used salesman. Crazy aggressive.
Beautiful location on the inter coastal. Knowledgeable, polite and attentive staff. The food was delicious and the butter cake for dessert is a must! Received a call the very next day to thank us for dining with them and to make sure we enjoyed our meal. It’s service like that that creates repeat customers. Two thumbs up!
Amazing food and a wonderful view of the boats on the Inter Coastal!
I just moved to Florida, up to par with Florida steakhouses, that being said, nothing compares to NY. Mastros NYC still #1. The bar is so beautiful and steak (tomahawk rib eye) hands down better than any other steakhouse I’ve been to.
We had a great dinner, and look forward to returning.
What a great venue to create memories at. The manager went out of her way to provide us with a fun filled evening.
Our daughter’s birthday.
Very unique spot!
Took our son for a nice dinner for his birthday. Service and food was fabulous. Our steaks were undercooked so we sent them back. Chef cooked them again and personally brought them back to our table along with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The brussel sprouts are phenomenal! Even though I’d made reservations noting it was our sons 29th birthday, the occasion wasn’t recognized by the wait staff. Not a deal breaker. We will go again.
Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend for a nice dinner.
Top notch but so expensive I can afford it only once or twice a year. Everything is a la carte. $450+ for two for appetizers, dinner and drinks but without wine or dessert.
One of the best I visited. Great Steak, awesome sea food, specially the Tuna Steak that was perfect. Excellent Service from James. One of the greatest views and a fabulous butter cake. It was the complete experience.
I had a reservation at Mastro's Ocean Club - Ft. Lauderdale for a birthday dinner for my friend. The service was great, HOWEVER, in comparison to the other Mastro's locations that I frequently visit (Washington DC - which is where I live, and also Houston), this one was sub par. First, of a party of 7: 3 of our steaks were so overdone that they weren't enjoyable (I didn't even have the desire to finish my filet). Everything else was in my opinion - below the Mastro's standard. Maybe it was an "off night", maybe it was because the reservation was at 9pm and the restaurant closes at 10p, maybe that's just how it is. Either way, I wouldn't drive from North Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale for that experience again, and I wouldn't recommend anybody else to do it either. I only suggested it for the birthday based off of my experiences at other Mastro's locations.
Beyond GREAT !!!!
Too dark, too expensive; the twice baked potato was not good; the wedge salad was already chopped and way too much cheese and bacon (not enough lettuce). Was a rainy day and the streets to get there were flooded in some areas. The best items were the bread basket, the side of broccoli and clam chowder
Our waiter Davide as well as all of the service was excellent. Oysters and stone crab were fresh and delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly. We sat outside overlooking the inter coastal with beautiful views and perfect weather. The dining experience overall was outstanding!!
An exceptional dining experience. An impressive wine list. While expense, worth every penny!
Food was terrific. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere was amazing and the overall evening couldn’t have been better.
Amazing experience, fabulous presentation, certainly top quality cut of beef, finished off with a salted caramel martini for my girl. Many places try , this restaurant delivers. Well Done!
Loved it!!!
Terrible service . Place was empty actually supposedly had two people help service us and it took over 20 min to get our first drink and bread . The whole meal didn’t see a server again . Second time this has happened in the past month .
Everything was wonderful!
