Martha Street Kitchen
Owned and run by local chef Patrick Laws. Patrick has been cooking in restaurants in Brisbane’s south for the past 15 years. After many years of hard work he opened the doors to Martha Street Kitchen in 2017.
Great food but noisy! Service good! Small menu, need normal beer on menu as well as craft .
Great little restaurant, we enjoyed all three dishes that we shared. We had the Panzanella Salad, Lamb Shoulder Ragu and the Garlic Prawn Pizza. The ragu and salad we're outstanding.
Fun and vibrant but the food wasn’t anything special, my gnocchi was so sweet it tasted like dessert. Wine was fine. Would go back for the donuts! Service was relaxed and pleasant, always there when we needed it but not interrupting too often. Let us stay chatting well after everyone was gone and until they were ready to mop the floors. i would t rush back but we did have an enjoyable night
Great food and location. Highly recommend if you want quality local Italian.
Perfect mix of casual and fancy! Great service , perfect ambience and nice staff
Excellent food and a lovely spot. It was an extremely busy evening and the staff were absolute champions
We really enjoed the experience and had a lovely night. I love how all the food was made from scratch. You could really taste the freshness and quality. I did find the lamb ragu pasta dish quite bland. I think it needed more salt and pepper. The pizza was very nice.
Great pizza, salad and wine plus excellent service.
Martha Street Kitchen cancelled our booking very late on the afternoon of December 12 so my review doesn't count. I wanted to let you know what happened.
If I were to recommend Martha Street Kitchen to a friend, I would add a warning label! The loudness of the music prevented meaningful and easy conversation amongst all members of our table. When I asked if the music could be turned down, I was promptly told it added to the experience.
Great food and atmosphere! Portions were slightly smaller than their value but the taste was spectacular.
Great food, attentive waiters and overall value for money.
Great service and outstanding food. Such a great Italian local restaurant
fantastic service and great food, will definitely be back!!
Whilst the gnocchi was quite tasty the portion size (it was a main) was entrée-sized. We're not big eaters and even we thought it was too small. Also, there were limited options for vegan diets and the vegan with our group was disappointed at the lack of choice. The house wine (red) was awful - seriously, for $12 a glass we think they could do better.
You can see this is a well loved haunt for locals. Food was wonderful; waiter was energetic and worked hard to ensure all tables were served; food was fantastic!
Delicious food and unique range of wines, as always. One of our favourite places to eat.
Lovely food, good menu choices, nice atmosphere. Well priced
Consistently delivers. Personable. Always busy any night of the week. A credit to the young couple who own and run it.
We had a great experience at Martha St Kitchen. One of our party was highly gluten intolerant. They had run out of GF pizza bases which initially made us feel a bit let down for our friend, but the amazing staff came up with a plan and prepared her a special GF dish to compensate. Outstanding! Also really good value for money.
Can't wait to go back! Everything was amazing but the Gnocchi was extra AMAZING!
We had a lovely dinner at Martha St kitchen. Wait staff were very friendly and efficient. Food and wine was delicious. The only thing we would have liked was for our pizzas to be delivered at the same time. We had two together and the third was much later than the first two. Otherwise, it's a great place to visit.
Our party of 4 were very impressed with the quality of the food. We will be back !
Fantastic service, great food! Lovely atmosphere. Have been here multiple times and it never disappoints.
Food and service was superb. We will be back. Friday night the music was turned up loud and whole small restaurant of people trying to talk over it was very noisy. Not that conducive to good conversation.
My wifes prawn pasta was excellent -
i had proscuitto and artichoke pizza - base was too bland, under seasoned, taste combo was erratic.
Not happy with choice of wines nor price - can understand the high markups , but selection not broad enough in grape variety and price.
Service was excellent!
Great food, great wine and great service! Would definitely recommend a visit to Martha Street Kitchen.
Amazing, delicious and detailed meals accompanied by fantastic service. It's easy to see the staff are passionate and proud of Martha Street Kitchen.
Great spot for an early dinner with young family; kids loved it.
Food was great for sharing and very fresh.
We have been to Martha St Kitchen a few times now. The service has been slow but good food so we have gone back. This time though, the service was really poor, we had to chase to place orders for food and drinks, half our mains were delivered and almost finished before the other half came and they forgot one meal altogether. After waiting ages for the food the waiter then promptly told us to leave our table as it had been rebooked and was uncomfortably rude to us. We don’t be going back.
We ordered 2 pasta dishes, one was very nice and the other not so good (lacked flavour and the seafood was chewy) . Wine list was limited,. Only one desert on offer (lemon myrtle) which didn't appeal. The pasta was expensive for what we got.
The menu on the open table is different from the menu in-house. I love this restaurant and will be returning. Excellent food.
We booked well in advance and when we got there, we were seated right at the back and it was very noisy so we politely asked to be moved if a table became available. The response we got was no. But then a table became available and instead of offering it to us, they gave it to other walk ins - who obviously hadn't booked. We were also take back that there was only one dessert option and no tea or coffee...Even on mother's day? We won't be returning because while the small meals were tasty, the value is much better elsewhere
Awesome food and great service. Love this restaurant and always look forward to our next visit.
simple but delicious food with lovely staff and well priced.
Amazing overall dining experience. Super friendly service and ultra delicious food paired with delicious wines... I was an extremely happy girl.
We need more venues like this! Well priced, simple but carefully created menu (more than anything I could whip up myself), on point friendly and knowledgeable service, one of my favourite wine lists in town, overall stellar venue!
Pizzas are featured on the menu and you take pride in their quality. On a recent Saturday night, we were very disappointed with ours. The crust was soggy and the dried tomatoes overwhelmed the flavours of the other ingredients.
The menu has a limited range of wines which were so overpriced that we felt as though we had been had.
Really enjoyed the food and the staff were really attentive. Can't wait to try Martha streets breakfast.
Always great service, always delicious food! A great spot for lunch or dinner.
