We work in the building, so we go to Marshall's Landing a lot for happy hour and lunches. The food is always excellent, the ambiance is festive, but the service is generally poor for table seating and at the bar. They really need to work on that because we like food and drinks a lot, so if we're not getting them, we'll go somewhere else.
Good food, nice restaurant atmosphere....the waiter seemed anxious to turn the table over
Simply a lovely setting. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of room between tables.
My friends and I were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. It took longer than normal for staff to notice us for water and ordering; however, we were so busy talking and visiting that we didn't notice for quite a while. When we sought service, it was excellent and came with apologies for the late start.
The food was excellent. I like my soup very hot when served and let the waitperson know that when I ordered. It arrived steaming. The butternut squash soup with apple was perfect. My friends shared a salad and a sandwich. Their half/single portions were huge. I don't recall which salad but they were quite pleased with the freshness and crispness. The sandwich was the tandoori chicken and they quite enjoyed. They also shared the carrot cake sandwich cookies. An unnecessary but appreciated bonus when our check was brought to the table: our drinks were comped as their apology for the wait for service.
Lovely, open modern space. Staff was very attentive and our group of 6 could talk and hear each other. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Would definitely go back.
It was VERY busy the day we went, but still able to hear each other. Great ambiance, good service, and food was decently priced for Chicago standards and good! :)
Nice place and service. Beautiful view!
Pasta Bolognese was so-so. Sauce not so flavorful and watery probably from wet pasta.
I love the decor with amazing views of the Chicago River. It is in a building with lots of offices so as the restaurant fills up for lunch it gets louder. Food is fresh tasting and service was attentive.
Marshall's Landing in the magnificent Merch Mart would definitely be a place I would go for lunch again! The service was professional and our food came quickly! Very important factor for a tight lunch hour. The food was delicious. The only complaint was that the music was too loud to have a reasonable conversation. Good music, but they could bring the volume down a bit.
I selected Marshall's Landing for a relaxed lunch during our one day leadership retreat. It was a nice, quiet place to sit and continue our discussion. Our waiter was really helpful with menu tips, the food was great and the view was excellent. We all enjoyed our lunch and would go back the next time we are in the Merchandise Mart.
I had the poke bowl. It was not very good.
Delicious food and great service. I took my disabled mom out for brunch and the staff couldn’t have been more kind and attentive. I will definitely be returning
I loved it here, but there was a younger woman behind the bar, she was very rude to me when i asked for something. She looked dirty as well. She is blonde but her hair is dyed blue. She is mean and rude and looks god awful. Looked like she had not washed her hair in a week and had a mean look on her face.
Really nice view and seating, although I requested a window seat and indicated there was a birthday -- nothing. Food was good, but don't be in a hurry as the waitress took forever to bring our check.
Great people watching and great drink happy hour prices
First time not last time: business meeting quiet, open and relaxed. Light and healthy lunch.
Great food with a nice view of the river
Nice working lunch option in the area. It's smack in the middle of the Merchandise Mart so be prepared for that, but it is a proper bar and restaurant - it's not fast food and it's not just for cocktails or coffee sitting in a lounge area. They have real dining tables and even a separate dining room. Went for a lunch with coworkers and enjoyed it. Most of us got salads and thought they were pretty good. Service was a little slow when we went - may not be good if you're in a hurry. Might work if you sit at the bar and let them know you're in a rush. The Mart is a maze - this place is on the second floor right about in the middle of the building. It's not enclosed but the tables for dining are out of the way of the Mart foot traffic so you don't even notice all the people.
I made a reservation two days before online and I physically went into the restaurant to ask if they would be open on the date and time I needed, they assured me they would be. I showed up with my party and the Restaurant was not open but I received a confirmation email. No one bothered to call or email me that the Restaurant would not be open.
First time, enjoyed atmosphere and food.
We had a going away celebration lunch and all of us enjoyed the experience
Great spot for lunch if you want to be waited on at The Mart., away from the typical fast casual food offered throughout building. Hip trendy great decor, Steak Salad- excellent!
Pass! I made a reservation for four, including two elderly clients. When we arrived, we had to seek out a hostess who was annoyed that we would bother her to announce our arrival. She informed us that the dining room was closed but offered us couches with a low table between us. Totally inappropriate for a business meeting. She then offered us high tops for which one of my clients could barely ascend. We waited for ten minutes for a server and then left - to enjoy lunch across the street at the Kinzie Street Chop House. Marshall's Landing is a place to go and have drinks and bar food. My mistake to think it's a restaurant.
Great, welcoming staff. Food was delicious and good wine selection. Beautiful view and great ambience! Thank you.
Awesome views & Great food!
Overall everything was great. Great for meetings. Only "complaint" was that it wasn't very clear where the host stand was but everyone was very helpful when asked
Excellent fast service. Much appreciated for a business lunch. Food was very good as well
We enjoyed our group social hour. We were glad we made a table reservation since the place became very popular and busy after 4p. Overall we love this place and we will definitely come back.
Great view, comfortable seats, and a decent selection of sandwiches and salads make a good lunch spot.
It was closed for a private party!
All the window tables were reserved even though mostly empty the time I was there but there was a small window area to sif.. view of the river was very nice
My steak salad was great tasting by hardly any steak!
Good service...good food. Nice experience. Good place to have a business meeting.
Awesome. Love the push button call for wait staff, didn’t have to use it because they were great, but would be awesome if you needed a quick business lunch with a hard stop. Will be back.
Great spot for a drink, cozy snack or lunch meetings. Lots of seating options. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is upscale, wine is great and nice signature cocktails.
No reason to reserve. Ok but not quiet. Very open
Loud, but a very nice spot to take clients for lunch. Use the service button on your table as the waiters/waitresses don't come around that often.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch while at the One-Of-A-Kind Show and look forward to being there for sunset.
Poor service - plates left on the table for ages
Food decent some great (truffle fries, date salad) some poor - poke bowl (no fish, tonnnsss of rice - may have a global shortage of rice after that)
Nice ambiance and lighting
Yummy lunch. Fabulous ambiance. I want to come for happy hour!
