Romaine, home made croutons, shaved parmigiano, tossed in a traditional Caesar dressing
Everything was great -service,food drinks could not have been better. Owner stopped by our table and asked our opinion. We gave our seal of approval. Great evening 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Delicious, freshly prepared Italian food, unique and charming setting in a restored 19th century mansion, great ambience, and friendly service.
Loved the ambiance and food was delicious!!!
Absolutely amazing, everything once you entered! Food was delicious, our server was wonderful!
Excellent food and service but very noisy on a Saturday evening.
Food was delicious. Our wait person, Nicky, was superb. Wonderful experience.
As always....Excellent in all areas. Awesome food , drinks , service and atmosphere!!!!!
Overall experience was great. Haven’t had good food like this in a while here in Providence. A lot of places on the hill have disappointed me lately, but this place did not. Great flavor and portions to the food. Nicely designed plates. Beautiful building and a great ambiance. Table was set nice and service was genuine and attentive.
Great food & place. Excellent service!
food was marginal The Saltimbacco was very salty
For the amount of money you pay for eating pasta here, you would expect an out of this world experience. A plate of pasta was warm at best, the apple cobbler was 98% apple chunks, the chicken soup was thimble sized placed in a large bowl. The ambience in the building was cool and the waitress was nice (yet all over the place due to a large party upstairs/short staff). $300 bill for four, so we were expecting high quality food. Not impressed with this place at all
Food was very good. We all had either the mushroom n pasta special or the short ribs. Both were just as you would want - short ribs fell off the bone. Prices were very reasonable and service was very good. If I was in the area again this would be a consideration. Thanks for an enjoyable experience
Great service from friendly staff, delicious pasta dishes, and indulgent desserts! We started off with the burrata and an order of calamari—both were delicious! There was a braised spare rib special the night we visited and it was divine. We also had the bolognese, carbonara, and lobster spaghetti. For dessert there was quite the array of options—we went with the tiramisu, chocolate chip bread pudding, and apple cobbler. We raved about every dish throughout the entire meal! Everything about this experience was wonderful.
Took friends…. They were very impressed (“love this place!). Nick provided an excellent experience, as usual. Food top notch. Calamari and minestrone the best.
Dinner was super! Our waitstaff was attentive and patient and didn’t chase us out the door. The owner recognized that we waited a bit longer than usual (we didn’t mind the wait as we were catching up and enjoying cocktails) and made sure he acknowledged it and made it right. We will be back for sure!!
We ate on the covered porch, which was a great option for outdoor dining, even if it had rained. Felt safe from Covid-19 standpoint, though you have to walk through the dining rooms to get to the porch. Convenient parking. Nice dinner music- Sinatra, Norah Jones.
Others have mentioned the calamari, and we agree it was tender, lightly breaded, and with tangy seasoning, not spicy. The spaghetti with lobster and mushrooms in a creamy tomato sauce was exactly as billed, though a bit heavy on the cream for me. Chicken piccata also excellent, good portions. The bread to start was bland and didn’t have much texture, my only complaint. Service was great, with at least 3 different people refilling our water, and they did not rush us. Would definitely recommend.
Service was awesome. Food was incredible.
My husband and I went to Maria’s to celebrate my birthday
First time here - food was amazing!
Best calamari I ever has..spicy , hit but also sweet. Just fantastic. Good bread . Our entrees were fine..Coppino special and Orchieeti with sausage and broccoli rabe. We split a delicious cheesecake for dessert. Wine and a Negroni were good. Waitress nice but we felt a tiny bit rushed. My only disappointment was that I had indicated it was our Anniversary but this was not acknowledged at all. Why ask if it’s a special Occasion if you’re not going to say anything or give us a slice of cake with a candle?
The ambiance on the porch was great. The food and service were superb. Eating inside is a pleasure also, because the rooms are beatiful. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable- sat outside food and service was great.
Great service, so many great items on the menu. Highly recommend
First time dining at Maria Cucina but it won't be my last.
The food was very good and the portions are large. Unfortunately, we had to wait more than one 1 hour to get our food.
This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants! The food is outstanding every time and the owner and servers go above and beyond to ensure a fabulous experience. If you’re looking for great Italian food, look no further!
Maria's Cucina is an absolutely lovely venue both inside and outside. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed our table on the porch overlooking their new patio and Broadway. Our server, Francesca, was perfect in every way timely, efficient, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. We began with a bottle of Moscato which was excellent and our Italian bread and olive oil for dipping arrived soon after. Our appetizer, the spinach salad was filled with candied walnuts, gorgonzola, and wine-poached pears with a balsamic dressing. It was good with the exception that the pears were cubed and very hard. Also, for my taste, the balsamic dressing was too strong so i would need to order that on the side in the future. The Veal Parmagiano was a huge portion even with the bone-in and was served with short rigatoni in a rich tasty red "gravy." My Pollo Limone was a Statler chicken (bone-in) and served in a piccata sauce with fantastic rustic potatoes and green beans. Also ordered was Pappardelle Bolognese(beef, pork, and veal blend) and that too, was nicely prepared and satisfying. There were definitely leftovers and something to which one would enjoy the next day!
We had a great time! We were greeted by a very pleasant hostess and seated on the porch. Francesca, our waitress could not have been any more attentive. Drinks and meal were both excellent. Chris, the owner stopped by our table to welcome us and check to see if we were satisfied with everything.
Dinner was excellent from appetizer to peach cobbler dessert! We had a lovely evening in a beautiful restaurant. Service was very pleasant and attentive. If you like calamari I recommend trying theirs it's sweet and spicy a little different in a good way. Everyone enjoyed their meals we have 0 complaints.
We will dine there again but service was very slow. I know you were short staffed & we felt really sorry for the server, she did the best she could do.
I used to think the one superpower I would pick would be invisibility. Thanks to Maria's, I now know what that experience is like. My husband and I arrived and were seated in a corner in a pretty and pleasant room, and thank goodness, because that is where we stayed for twenty minutes without water or attention. We admired the molding for all that time. (Fun) When we finally did get any service from a busboy (whom my husband had to tap to pour us water after going by us FOUR times), we finally got a drink and had the opportunity to ask him about the overwhelming noise of loud running and crashing. This was clearly the sounds of children (which as parents, we understand but this was excessive). He then informed us it was "the stoves and cooking". Okay. (???) When we finally got our cocktails, the noise got worse and we asked our server about it, she confirmed our assumption that there was an event upstairs and added "I guess the kids are running around and enjoying their martinis as you are". (Excuse me?) That was pretty much the only thing I was "enjoying", especially given the pretty rude response. We decided to only order entrees as we weren't "enjoying" the noise or our time there. Then dinner arrived. My husband's lemon chicken was fine but my chicken parm was an atrocity of fatty chicken and overcooked rigatoni soaked and bathed in marinara. My husband asked our server for the check almost immediately. She asked no questions as to why. When she did return some time later, (yes, that was when she spoke to us again), she asked if I wanted my dish wrapped to go. I informed her that it was terrible (my EXACT words) and that I definitely didn't want it. Nothing asked again. And then we waited again for an Uber bc this place is so away from ANYTHING else. DO NOT BOTHER going. We wish we hadn't as it was hands down our worst restaurant experience EVER. PS Read our other reviews - we love and appreciate restaurant workers and almost all of our experiences.
On a scale of 1-10 I’ll give it a 10👍It was great in every way from the moment we entered until we left. The decor, service and food were excellent. We will return soon. A great evening.
Meal took longer than expected. The steak I ordered medium rare, was given to me well done. I had to wait even longer for my food, while my wife was eating hers. This was our anniversary dinner, and they only apologized, and didn't offer to adjust the bill. I was dissatisfied.
Starting with the hostess, server and meal everything was perfect. We enjoy our frequent visit.
Amazing meal, great location beautiful interior, and excellent service. Hands down the best meal I have ever had. The Petite Filet was outstanding!
Food is always great and staff is wonderful! Vaz took wonderful care of us!!
Fantastic beautiful place.
Sandy was our waitress she is outstanding!!!
Can’t wait to go back!!
Great for and occasion
Most of our meals at the table were great! Strip steak wasn't anything to write home about. The special with the swordfish and the beef braciola on the menu were great. The drinks were quite good as well. There was live music on the night we went (Thursday) which was quite nice.
Scallops brunch was fantastic
