Specialising in “babushka cooking”, the menu is replete with Russian dishes and influences from the former Soviet countries of Georgia, Ukraine and also offers an extensive selection of salads and lighter dishes displaying a liberal use of fresh herbs. Its generous and exquisite selection of tea-time treats, cakes and infusions, meanwhile, is hard to resist, and available throughout the day.
With extraordinary attention to detail, Mari Vanna transports each guest into the Russian home of a bygone era where shelves are adorned with matryoshka dolls, trinkets and tchotchke. Displaying true Russian tradition from top to toe, Mari Vanna is a rare find in London.
Initially opened in a private apartment in St Petersburg, Mari Vanna has sister restaurants in Moscow and New York.

Absolutely superb as always. Thank you for the great hospitality, ambience and service.
This quirky Russian restaurant deserves a visit for its interesting homely decor, very authentic Russian food (at least my two Russian guests said so...) and great location just near Harrods etc. The food wasn't particularly to my taste but we had a lovely evening and the staff were very nice and welcoming.
We arrived an hour ahead of time and the restaurant was so kind to accommodate us at the bar earlier and let us order some food
Hot appetisers can take 30+ minutes, so order cold appetisers if hungry or on a schedule.
Ambience is really cool, it feels like you are in a old house.
Service was really good and the lady who served us was really nice.
Just one thing to say, when entering the place, it is very narrow and there’s no space for people walking in and out on the same time. Greeting should be reviewed .
Overall I feel we had such a great time and would definitely come back!
Something different with delicious food and lovely service. Feels high class but like you’re in someone’s living room
Our orders took too much time, we waited for more than 35 minutes for dumplings. Servers werent very attentive but nice atmosphere and the food was good.
Authentic Russian food in the heart of London. Highly recommended especially with your other half. Cosy and light atmosphere. Honey cake was truly divine!
I really like this place, food, atmosphere, everything. However, the staff can be a bit more friendly, they should smile more and be able to speak English to the guests.
Sehr authentisch!
Very authentic and delicious Russian food. my Russian friend recommended it to me.
Really cute interior & excellent food with an extensive cocktail & wine list. Very good value especially considering the high quality - can’t wait to go back and try more things.
Mediocre food and unfriendly service. Overpriced. The Beef Stroganoff was the worst I ever had.
Really Russian kitchen, tasty food in a lovely restaurant, friendly and professional staff, all amazing.
Lovely and romantic.
Although the food was as fantastic as always, the service was a bit disappointing for a posh restaurant in Knightsbridge. I was met and seen off by a grumpy hostess - no greeting as I arrived, and she then dropped my scarf as I was leaving and pretended not to notice. The staff were busy and it was hard to catch their attention, I ended up helping myself for a menu. Also the lotion bottle in the ladies remained empty for the entire time I was there, which was for the best part of the evening.
We still had a lovely evening and will be back!
Excellent ambience very romantic- great food and service
