    Honestly one of the best restaurants I have been to that is close to home, it was the perfect experience for my boyfriends birthday. A memorable day which I am so grateful to all the team for I cannot recall any names but everyone who was working that Friday night was the best team I have ever met, everyone worked together so nicely and ensured that we were comfortable and happy. Food was delish aswell. Thank you everyone!!!

    We love this restaurant. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. There is a need to book in advance because the restaurant is small, intimate but lively. The food is well plated and tasty, excellent value for money. The staff are always willing to advise on food tastes or wine pairing. Highly recommended for families or couples, they all suit this lovely restaurant.

    We have visited a few times in the last few months without giving a review. Sometimes on busy nights, others when it is quieter and allows the team time to chat more with guests. The common theme of all visits is the consistency of excellent food, presentation and service in this friendly local restaurant. We'd like to give special mentions from our recent visit to Ted the new, friendly member of staff who clearly enjoys his job. And also to the amazing "two Nonas" Tiramisu. Delicious! Thanks to all the Marcus team for making every visit a special experience and we hope to be with you again soon.

    An absolutely lovely little restaurant tucked behind the high street with a little outside space making it feel like a rustic hideaway in another world. In the evening the fairy lights twinkle and invite you in. We went at lunchtime. The service was friendly and jovial, like you were being greeted as regulars. The seating was a little bit cosy, small tables and narrow seats. Comfortable but somewhere to hang coats and bags would have helped as several people had been shopping and there wasn't much room. But still, a minor point. The menu was varied with all the usual favourites on it. I went for the polpette to start, then wild boar soup both of which were hearty and delicious. Shame the torta della nonna had run out, my absolute favourite, but my lunch buddy and I split a pear tart which was a decent back up. A beautiful stencilled happy birthday treat with ice cream and a candle arrived for my friend which was a lovely but unexpected touch. Gorgeous all round. Will definitely be back!
