Marble & Grain
I just feel sory that we did not have more tine to have another beef stake after the excellent lamp shoulder for my family of 4 pax. But I am sure will come for it next time to Canberra. Excellent place!
Our food was good, the waiter was lovely especially considering the childrens playpen he had to deal with in the restaurant. Definitely not fine dining and our experience was ruined by 5 different tables of loud, screaming children pouring drinks and food every where. Very hard to enjoy a nice meal. Expected better atmosphere for the prices. Unfortunately would only recommend this to someone who is okay with being in a restaurant comparable to a McDonalds playground.
I’m always searching for good hearty meats when I eat out. Not only did Marble and Grain serve awesome food but created created curiosity with a food or two. Service was also great, the staff were very attentive, police, and spoke clearly. I loved the restaurant interior, vibe, and decor.
Had to wait 20 minutes for our table from our booking time.
Marble and Grain produced its usual informal, friendly service with good quality food. My only beef (pardon the pun) is that the wine list includes nothing between one cheap wine in each category and plenty of expensive-to-very-expensive wines. Virtually no moderately priced wines to select.
Awesome service, amazing food. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful food and had a lovely waiter who was attentive. Were sat in the corner of the room which gave us a nice view and kept us away from the noise of people talking. Worst part was how small the portions were as we could've eaten a lot more!
I enjoyed most of the food however, for the price my steak was nice but disappointing, because it was rare and not medium. I think my husband got mine. The sauce excellent however my potatoes were cold. I did not feel like sending my plate back as this dinner had been planned for months!
The air conditioning was too cold, our waiter was to ask for the temperature to be turned up.
After spending just under $600 for 4 of us, this was not value for money.
All 5 of my guests loved this restaurant
The best steak I’ve had in a long time
And I’ve been to all of Melbourne’s steak house’s
We came for dinner as my son had just become engaged. Our orders arrived and he had ordered a share steak platter . Wrong order arrived
We had to eat as our food was getting cold. Whilst they sat and waited for awhile. We had all finished when their correct order had arrived. Disappointing as the night was about them. It was my third time there and the meat is always amazing .
Came here for dinner on New Years Eve. We were seated promptly in a corner booth which was lovely. There was a few big parties in the restaurant so it was a bit noisy but nothing too bad. I had the king prawns and my partner had a scotch fillet. Both were superb! Service started off well but dropped off as the night went on. It took about 15 minutes for someone to clear our dinner plates. We shared the dark chocolate tart for dessert which was not too sweet and the perfect way to end the meal!
Location was great, although nearby parking was a lottery. Greeted, welcomed and seated without delay. Beverages and meal courses served timely. Beef meals served as ordered, easy to cut and chew, tasty as served. Ample sides to ensure a filling and satisfying meal in pleasant and relaxed surrounds.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Marble and Grain. Food and Service were fantastic! Will definitely be back again! Thank you!!
Great service , great food , great location ....not a vegan in site . Perfect night
We had shared plates which we really enjoyed.
Fantastic food and wine
Good value for food extra points for large servings, excellent drinks menu. Wait time for food, was minimal.
Communication was on Par in lead up to booking. We will come back.
A great family dinner with our adult children. We all loved our meals, we had a great night, great service, cannot ask for more. We look forward to coming back soon.
Classy pub-style food with good drinks selection to accompany, sharing steak plates are great for 2+. Bit cold right under the air con vent and be aware if you take an early booking (6pm) there might be a second seating later..!
Good food, Excellent service. Wasn't too busy . Will be back.
Service was slow. Drinks were not what was ordered and steaks were overcooked and disappointing for the price.
Food and wine was first class, however, difficult to hold a conversation when the dining room was full owing to the challenging level of background noise of other diners.
The food was awesome! Both steaks were cooked to perfection!
Our server wasn’t all that present but we both loved that, as it allowed us to just enjoy our night
Overall very impressed
Food was fabulous, but the service was lacklustre. Not worth it :(
We had a fantastic meal at Marble and Grain. the service could not be faulted and our meal was delivered very quickly after ordering. Thank you
Food very good as always.
Service terrible, for example long long delays in finding a waiter (a lot there but not all of them working); had to get up and ask for menus etc; main plates never cleared and still on table for dessert; very minor issue with eftpos but waiter very rude.
We have been here often for a nice meal, pricey but food and service always good. Based on this experience we won’t be back.
Enjoyable evening with options to suit every member of our party
Very good restaurant but difficult to find a park near it.
The only thing I can really fault about my experience was that both myself and one of my guests both ordered a side of greens. The side would have been enough for two people yet there was no suggestion to only get one to share. I know it's not in your interest to down size an order but there the little things from a customer service aspect that would set you apart.
I loved the industrial style and like the idea of having both a more casual bar setting as well as the table dinning. It was a bucket list restaurant for me before I move from Canberra and it certainly did not disappoint. The Tenderloin was just perfect and the blue cheese sauce was fantastic.
I had the Wagyu beef. I assumed this would be melt in the mouth, unfortunately it wasn't. For $65 I was disappointed.
Having to pay for $9 for cheap greens (beans, snow peas, zucchini) was also disappointing.
I gave my duck fat potato to my date as pretty tasteless.
The chocolate mousse was hard and more like caramel. Tasted weird.
The strawberry bomb Alaska was amazing and I loved it.
I recommend this restaurant, but I doubt whether I'll go back.
Good for a date I suppose.
The food was very high quality. The steak delicious as was the lamb shoulder. The share plates are great.
The service let the restaurant down. Very slow to be served and get the first drinks. Not attentive, though was friendly when we could get someone.
The coffee machine was turned off before closing so couldn’t get a coffee after dinner.
Overall a good place, for the price I would expect much better service.
Food was nice. All four steaks were done to order with no issues.
Service was a wee bit slow and the single glass pour was a little light-3 oz at best.
we caught up with friends had a lovely meal and enjoyed a few cocktails great night out
Food was great and service was outstanding.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Great steaks and a comprehensive, complementary wine list
Great service and amazing food! There was a special $99 three course menu for 2 people (Sunday and a Monday only) which I didn’t know about when I booked but it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We were all looked after for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Our waitress was very attentive and very helpful with the cake that we brought along. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Marble & Grain. We’ll be back.
Service was ok, entrees were overpriced, mains were good, dessert was great.
Came to Marble & Grain because I thought it is a higher standard steak dinner, however, as a birthday celebration, not so great. The candle on the cake was not lighted before served, and the staffs didn’t come and celebrate with my partner and I. I found it pretty strange as usually staffs would be the ones that’s singing the birthday song along with the customers as that’s what I have experienced in other restaurants. Overall, my experience was a little bit disappointing.
We loved the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Great customer service, noticed all service was exceptional. Food great as always.
Portion serving was incredibly small compared to others on the night and previous visits.
