Last minute reservation. Perfect reception and service.
Great food and interesting historic building.
First time dining at this restaurant. Was courteously greeted and promptly shown to our table. The overall ambiance was especially nice. Wait staff was friendly, very attentive, and accommodating. Felt the menu selections were plentiful and appropriately priced. Our dinner choices were brought in a timely manner, were hot, and quite tasty. Definitely recommend.
Lovely setting. Sat on the porch which quieted down post "after work commute". Dinner very good. Prices of wine were overly high, however ($14 a glass!)
Absolutely fantastic food, ambiance, and service. So pleased. Not cheap, but absolutely worth every penny.
A pleasant surrounding with traditional food offerings.
Staff was very accommodating to let us change our dinner reservation and arrive early. Service was prompt and thoughtful. Heather did a great job serving our table on the porch. Food was not elegant, but farm to table fairly priced and a good value.
Recommended wine was undrinkable. My wife's antipasto was two sliced tomatoes with literally half of jar of olives and canned artichokes. My chicken fried oyster appetizer consisted of two small fried oysters in some greens. My wife's entree was a bone in pork chop with peach chutney. She described it as dried out and tasteless (I concur, since I tried it.) My ribeye was covered with a sauce that was likely there to disguise the cut.
Food and service as always was outstanding. The ambience and history of the place is unmatched in the area. May sound like an advertisement but it's the place to dine in the Gettysburg area.
We were a group of 5 from Maryland in town to ride Civil War Century cycle tour the next day. We found Mansion House online and it sounded like just the place and we were more than pleased. Our lovely server Shawn was very helpful explaining the menu. The salmon and dry scallops were the best but also a creative shrimp dish.
We found our the head chef was not there so his son took over and did a marvelous job.
The owner was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the beautiful rooms. We all hope to bring a larger group back next year and fill the hotel and know we will have fine service and cuisine. We actually ride by the hotel on our bike ride today
We highly recommend Mansion House
If you’re in the Gettysburg area, I highly recommend this restaurant. It was a 15 min drive from the B&B my husband and I were staying at in Gettysburg. We ordered the antipasto plate that came with a peach-ginger soufflé. Delicious. We also ordered the soup trio that included mushroom(our favorite), she crab soup and a chilled peach gazpacho which was interesting Our main courses were ok. My husbands chicken Marsala was on the dry side and my ribeye steak was covered in gravy which I had to scrape off. The mashed potatoes were good and the small side of green beans that came with the meal were tasty but too few. The best part of the meal was the desert and cappuccino, my husband enjoyed his triple layer chocolate cake but the creme brûlée was out of this world. If you want bread with your meal, it comes as an appetizer for $6 My husband ordered it and we got 3 slices of sourdough bread and a small tub of butter. Definitely NOT worth paying an extra six bucks for! All in all this was probably one of the better meals we have had recently and would go again.
Best dinner option in town! Food was very good - we had the ribeye and the scallops. Service by Jen was outstanding.
Wonderful meal. The crab cakes and she crab soup were to die for. Service was superb. We sat in the room were Mamie Eisenhower used to dine. Staff couldn't be better. One of the best if, not the best place to dine in Gettysburg.
We are repeat diners at the Mansion House. This time I tried the salad entre looking for a light supper. It was amazing with a great mixture of greens, tomatoes, onions artichokes and olives with a chablis creamy dressing. I chose the shrimp topping but could have ordered beef or salmon toppings instead. Friends had tole me that the salad was great and they were correct. Glad I listened to them. And the peach cobbler was the best I have ever eaten!
Great service. Fabulous farm to table menu. Great plate presentation.
We had a very nice experience, restaurant that takes you back in time.
Our server Lisa helped make a birthday celebration dinner extra special. She not only provided outstanding service but also gave us a guided tour of this historic restaurant! The entree salad was fresh and it tasted like someone just picked greens and veggies from the garden. The scallops were delicious and the chocolate cake was yummy. Not many people in restaurant when we dined there on a Sunday evening so it was not noisy. Great place and we plan to come back.
Delicious meal. My father-in-law had the crab soup and said it was "outstanding". I had to ask what "dry scallops " were (apparently no water added). They were amazing. Overall an excellent meal. Will be back.
We came for our anniversary. Everyone was very nice, our waitress was excellent and the rooms were beautiful. We will be back again. Oh yes, the food was delicious.
We finally got together for my mom’s 86th birthday. We were also having a bit of a farewell party for my daughter, moving to CA. Because of several medical events, our numbers and dates changed, and the Mansion House could not have been more accommodating.
Our party of 10 ordered a pretty wide range from the menu, but the highlights were the ribeye, the scallops, and the crab cakes. Everyone gave high marks to their meals. We also enjoyed the soup sampler and the fried oyster apps.
The Mansion House cake and creme brûlée were great desserts.
Nice selection of farm to table. The service was excellent.
Excellent first time experience. Service was attentive but not overbearing and food was creative and well prepared. Will return again soon!
This is an excellent place !! Sat outside, much better for me as inside was busy and LOUD! I could not have enjoyed everything with inside noise level.
The best part of this place is food items are truly farm to table. I love locally and am lucky to eat this way daily so a restaurant is a true bonus.
The restaurant was very busy. We had a reservation, however, the restaurant accepted a large group that did not have reservations and could not accommodate us inside. The offered us a table, not on the porch with other outdoor diners, but in a grassy area at the side. We were very happy. It was quiet and pleasant. The owner came by to apologize and was very gracious. The food was not excellent but good. My family was surprised that their steaks arrived covered in gravy. Had the menu stated that the steaks were covered with gravy, my family would have requested to not have it or have it on the side. I ordered the salmon. It was overcooked. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience.
Great service. Food was well prepared and delicious.
Ambience is great - we sat in the outdoor garden next to this historic house. Service was great! However the food was disappointing. The menu described dishes that sounded delightful; but tasted quite average. Nothing special here. Prices are high for the area, so one would expect spectacular food - on a par with the now defunct Sheppard Mansion or Restaurant Sydney. Sadly, this was not our experience. Perhaps the area simply cannot sustain such elevated cuisine. We’d hoped for more from Mansion House - not the same food served everywhere else in the area. We will, however, give them another try as the kitchen may have just had an off night.
Excellent waitress. Paige was dekifhtful and cery accommodating. Food was good and we were served quickly.
Unbelievably delicious and well-designed menu options. The chef is fantastic. Fifteen minutes from Gettysburg and well worth the drive! We will absolutely come back next time we’re nearby!
We had our Anniversary dinner there, and the owner/chef came out to our table to greet us and explain the dishes on the menu.
Excellent experience..we will definitely return. Owner Chef came out to chat and our server Heather was excellent
Beautiful, warm and friendly
We love Mansion House! The food is perfection and the staff and owners truly care about their guests.
My husband and I visited Gettysburg. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary this week. What a great trip and the Mansion House 1757 was a highlight of our trip. If I could give this farm to table restaurant 10 stars I would. It was a perfect evening from start to finish! Let’s start with our server Monique. She was knowledgeable, friendly, great attitude, fun to chat with and made the evening memorable. The food was outstanding. My husband had a trio of soups, three small cups, mushroom, she crab, and gazpacho. Each one was better than the other! I had the crab meat eggroll which was creative and delicious with a delicious apple cabbage slaw.We both had creative and yummy cocktails as well. The main course was a rib eye for him with the best mashed potatoes I have EVER had!! I had shrimp etoufee, with quinoa, both dishes cooked to perfection, served with simple, fresh picked zucchini and clean plate delicious!! Lovely presentation as well. Desserts did not disappoint. Warm apple blueberry cobbler with dense delicious and I bet home made vanilla ice cream and a lovely Mansion House cake with blueberry sauce, more like macerated blueberries than a sauce, not overly sweet so the true flavors came through! Add to this a perfect ambiance on the front porch with our pooch and a perfect moon right across the street on a lovely summers night!! I could not have ordered a more perfect evening!! This restaurant is a winner!! No other meal that we had up there compared. We would love to return!! The owner of the Inn/ restaurant came by to chat and see how everything was, this was a nice touch snd made the evening feel very personal, as did Monique! If you are in the area, don’t miss the opportunity to experience an amazing meal!!!!
It was out first time eating at Mansion House 1757. We have not had such a delicious dinner in months. The soup sampler, ribeye steak, and fried oyster sandwich were outstanding! Very highly recommended!
Outstanding food and service. A truly enjoyable dining experience.
It was our first time there and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly, from the hostess to the waitresses to the chef/owner who came out to speak with us. We felt so welcome and the food was great, especially the cobbler for dessert!! Definitely a place to return to.
Loved our meal. 6 of us had soups, salads and bread, all excellent. Bar service was great w strawberry basil margaritas and a smoked old fashioned. Entrees were excellent with salmon, vegetarian, rib eye, and crab cakes. Desserts were the best,
Make sure you save room!!
Food was overpriced and nothing special, paid a lot of money and everything was extra, received a little bit of wine when I should of gotten a little more for what we’ve paid. Sever didn’t really acknowledge that our steak was nothing but fat and grizzle, won’t be eating there again
Traveling and found interest in the historical aspects of this location and impressed by the menu. Our dinner was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The location was a very easy and short drive from Gettysburg and well worth the trip out.
If you are looking for upscale dining at a wonderful and historic venue- this is the place! The food was fantastic. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the pecan crusted chicken. Wonderful! Then we had the Mansion house cake - not what I was expecting but absolutely delicious, I highly recommend it.
