Malt Pier
Having loved Malt Dining we decided to try the new addition Malt Pier. Not the full Malt experience and I was a little disappointed in the atmosphere. Very casual. It was disappointing that on a Saturday night they had run out of half the menu leaving us to try to work out who could eat which menu items that were left. Steaks were overcooked and verging on dry even though we ordered them medium rare and asked for more rare than medium. Not what I've previously experienced at Malt dining. Considering there were only a few tables occupied this was really disappointing for a 7.30pm booking. I won't rush back to this venue for a dinner any time soon.
Have been to Malt Pier a number of times. Great food, great location and great staff.
Been here couple of times and food is great! Just to add if you take table bookings and requests don’t then place those customers in the worst spot. Requested outside table and was shoved in a corner by a post. Group came in right behind me no booking and got a Great table outside. Otherwise great little place!
This restaurant is one of my go to places for breakfast. Absolutely love everything about it. It’s great to be away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of the Gasworks area. We have also had lunch and dinner there as well and loved it.
Have been here three times for lunch and loved it, but the food at dinner was poor. Two of us ordered the sousvide steak, I had to send mine back the first time, ate the second one but didn’t enjoy it and I noticed my friend left practically her whole steak uneaten. Disappointed. Such good experiences at lunch time ...
Everything was great except the noise level. We couldn’t hear what the person on the other side of the table was saying.
This is one of our favourite places to eat. The food and service is always outstanding
We had cool breeze keeping us comfortable whilst we had an enjoyable lunch. Food and drink was good and well priced
Everyone enjoyed their meal... delicious! I’ll be going back and would definitely recommend.
Restaurant was very good & food great.
Only issue was parking. Very difficult to find a park in surrounding streets at lunchtime.
Food was great, service was ok but the biggest issue was at 730 pm with 6-8 people still in restaurant the pack up started. It was not subtle at all. We and others were half way through their mains. Heaters were turned off first making it uncomfortable. First three drinks ordered weren’t available. Didn’t bother with dessert as it was going to be too much bother and it was made very obvious that it was time to go. Other people were still there. Was there for an hour, won’t be back.
Enjoyed the lunch special. Service was excellent. Calamari was delicious, salmon a little salty. Have already recommended Malt Pier to a friend.
Perfect venue for breakfast , fabulous food and even better staff .
A relaxed atmosphere, with great views over the river, the service was outstanding, and all 6 meals were beautiful. We had a fantastic wait person, she was French, can't remember her name, but she made our Lunch an amazing experience, thank you to the chef also, the for was of a very high standard, especially the lamb shanks (my meal lol) we will be back !
Food was superb and so was the service.
I would definitely recommend Malt Pier to anyone.
Lovely fresh lunches served promptly, in a quiet setting by the river.
simple dinner menu was overcomplicated by the confusion of ingredients and flavours on the plate. Lights began to be turned down at 8.45pm as a strong hint that all was shutting down at 9pm. Not conducive to lingering over a meal and a drink.
Being fans of Malt restaurant in the city our expectations were if a similar experience. It’s nothing like it’s sister restaurant. Although the setting has potential the food is lack lustre and the service unprofessional
We do like the restaurant however it is too small though.
What a hidden gem! This place has just recently started their dinner service and we couldn’t fault it. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the lamb shank which just melted in your mouth. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Overall a wonderful experience, we can’t wait to return.
Staff were friendly, food and location were beautiful. Highly recommend!
Delicious food and great service. Nice location. Great if you're looking for dinner that is not an exorbitant price but still great quality food.
Good sized and beautifully cooked meals.
We were especially impressed with the service.
Our waitress was very professional and everything you'd expect from a 5 star restaurant.
Excellent service and food-would highly recommend this new dinner restaurant! Small menu but wanted to try everything! Generous meal sizes.
Great staff, very accommodating, tasty food, and great atmosphere.
Food - I had the Club Sandwich at $22. Dissapointed with the chicken - very gristly and didn't finish it. Shouldn't be difficult to find a gristle free cut. Companion had the steak sandwich which would have been a better choice.
Ambience - sitting inside and the wind was whistling in - lucky I took a coat.
Always great food and have come back numerous times for breakfast. It’s my fav place to dine for breakfast.
Had breakfast and breakfast cocktails (yum!). The food and drinks were great presentation 10 out of 10. The service was speedy. Small cafe so recommend booking. Will definitely go again.
Good food, felt like we were rushed out the door at the 1 hour mark - bill on table and table rejoined with another table. I think they should be having at least 1.5-2hr sittings for brunch... otherwise a pleasurable experience.
On each of the 3 occasions we have had breakfast at Malt Pier, we have been impressed with our meals, Malt Pier's lovely waterfront location and stylish appointment, and the friendly and courteous staff and service. Our meals were so delicious - great flavours and textures, beautifully cooked and the perfect size. We continue to recommend Malt Pier to friends.
Although there was renovation going on which obstructed the view the staff were friendly and the food outstanding we will be back
I got there at 11.20, I gave the lady my name and she couldn't find me in the system but I still sat down in a very empty restaurant. I was unaware that breakfast had stopped at 11am. I would have still eaten there but the waitress was terrible. She clearly does not have any customer service skills, was not polite at all. I told her that I was leaving and I didn't eat there.
Good all round; specially liked the location and vegetarian choices.
Really like Malt Pier. The reason I suggested it to friends for a catch up was that it is on the river and normally has a lovely outlook. Unfortunately there was construction work happening for the apartments above the restaurant so most of the view was hidden. Didn't see anything about this on the website before I booked and I would have preferred to know about it beforehand. Food and service great and we will come back,
Amazing food and service! Thank you Susie and Matt for looking after us.
Great service and delicious food. The chocolate fondant for dessert was to die for.
The Fish cakes are really nice with a generous salad. Staff are very helpful...great location to impress friends and family. The Brisbane river and the greenery and the air of peace and exclusivity are a real plus. Easy parking nearby is very handy.
Great welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. Beautiful spot by the river, will definitely be back.
Really good breakfast menu with lots of variety and very reasonable prices. Love being able to have a glass of bubbly with breakfast
A friends' get together. The ambiance was relaxed, the service excellent, and the food fresh and delicious. We will be back soon.
