Exceptional food, great service, quiet dining space, not pressured to commit to a 2 hour dining slot.
Outstanding service and exceptional food. 10/10 will recommend and go back again! Had such a lovely night!
It was nice food. We did the 6 course tasting menu paired with wines. It would have been good to get a bit more guidance on what we were eating and drinking as we were on the journey. The music playlist was a bit tacky and kept repeating songs. Overall a good experience but didn’t quite hit the heights we were hoping.
Everything was really good and the staff were friendly. Strongly recommend the cauliflower and the pumpkin wonton.
Change of cuisine since last visit. More Asiatic now. Still OK. Great pork collar. Oysters were super fresh. Being charged $190 for a $50 bottle of red was a bit stiff. Waitress did not know the price. Meals placed in front of the wrong person. Music was not intrusive but the wrong choice. Not quite the 5 star experience we had the last time we visited (2020)
Our favourite Brisbane restaurant.
Superb food which consistently delights. Flavours are to die for.
The attic has great ambience and the service is fantastic. Has become our benchmark for measuring other restaurants.
Very reasonably priced too for food of this calibre. Thoroughly recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious. We loved each and every item we tasted. The dessert was to die for. The visual presentation of each plate was amazing too. Service was impeccable. Venue was good. Good parking available as well. I give it 4 stars. Thanks so much.
The Xinjiang Cauli Blossom was absolutely amazing. By far the pick of the dishes for the night.
Absolutely amazing service and beautiful food! We will be back
Great night, wonderful food. Fantastic service. Perfectly matched food and wine - delicious.
We're definitely coming back to Malt dining, the food and service were amazing, interesting dishes masterfully prepared, beautiful desserts and cocktails and good list of wines. It's quiet and relatively simple ambience appropriate for a romantic dinner.
Excellent place to eat mid week. Great modern menu with lots of variety especially if you want to try a few different dishes. Loved the cauliflower dish! Enjoyed a pre dinner drink downstairs!
The staff were lovely and attentive and explained most of the dishes. The food was really lovely. We chose the degustation with paired wines. I had the vegetarian option and my husband had the non-vegetarian option. I really enjoyed the meat free dishes - they really show-cased how versatile vegetables can be. The stand out dish for both of us, however, was the pumpkin pasta. The pasta itself was divine. Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience.
We had an amazing evening here for my birthday last night. The staff were really lovely and the chef was super accommodating of my dietary restrictions. The degustation menu was such a delight and so tasty! Highly recommend dining here and we look forward to coming back again.
Degustation is absolutely divine. Such interesting choices. And the wine pairings are well worth it.
A really special dining experience - we have been to Malt a handful of times of the last few years and recently dined to enjoy the tasting menu. Our past visits have always been memorable, this is definitely a consistently well performing venue for invention and innovation in their dishes and the tasting menu was no exception.
As a vegetarian it was wonderful to see the same level of creative indulgence given as to the omnivore version of the menu. I would highly recommend Malt for couples new and old, small groups or even private dining. It’s warm industrial interior and knowledgeable staff make for an enjoyable evening and for the food alone I can see we will continue to return for years to come.
Great service and excellent experience to do the degustation with paired wines.
Food was amazing, we had the black angus steak, BBQ broccoli, confit salmon, oysters, and fried potatoes. Staff were friendly and place was romantic
My second lunch here with colleagues, love the uniqueness of the setting and will be back.
Good food. Average at best service. Late seating. Forgot drinks.
Malt is located off the beaten track, but not far enough that you can't find it. The ambience in the old building is beautiful, the service was top notch and the food was divine. I would recommend it to anyone.
My girlfriend and I chose Malt as we’d never been. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the staff were very professional, the food exquisite to say the least. We will no doubt be returning very soon!!!
The food was fantastic and served promptly by friendly and professional waiting staff who were very attentive. Great prices for a taster menu! My only criticism was that the menu changed from what was on the Internet and we got a swordfish dish that I wouldn't have picked but with a taster menu you get the unknown. Lovely ambience. Overall fantastic evening.
Attractive, upstairs space and good service. Out of 5 dishes between two of us, four were very good indeed. One cauliflower entree seemed to belong to a different menu, but was still fine. Good wine. Would definitely return.
Great wine and food... Very unique dishes.
The service was outstanding!
The service and food was wonderful as always. My only issue was that a rather large party table was behind my date and I so it was difficult to have a conversation. Aside from that highly recommend Malt, it’s a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing parent's date night. Thank you very much. Travis was an amazing and attentive waiter. Please tell him thank you from us.
Only feedback we could offer would be to maybe include another red meat I.e a lamb to the Ala carte menu for those that don't tend to the seafood side of things.
The oysters were incredible. Duck beautifully presented and the pork was really really good .
Thanks once again
Lovely surroundings. Friendly, helpful service from welcome in the downstairs bar to dining room. Enjoyed the delicious 6 course tastings option which was happily adjusted for the gluten free person in our group.
Great service and cozy place. The food was amazing with a very nice presentation. However, a little too salty for my taste (and I am someone who likes salty food) but I would come back again. In general good experience
My favourite and never disappoints. Staff welcoming and friendly.
His was the 3rd visit to Malt for me. Food was great again, and the Brocolli as a side was something special. The ambience was a little underwhelming, as it didn't feel like it had done in the past as I remembered it. Still pretty good though and service was good, but not as up to par as it used to be.
Overall, it was an okay dinner but not what it used to be. The mains took a long time to arrive after entrees and the wines we had were okay, but not superb. What we often came to Malt for, was the consistency in quality. Apart from the baked cauliflower (which was outstanding), both mains we had were extremely over-seasoned. The duck was very tough so most likely overcooked.
Both the food and service were impeccable. We could not fault our experience. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
Excellent venue, with character. Food and service are very good.
Lovely venue and great atmosphere.
Vegetarian tasting menu was excellent, only the dessert left us with a question mark.
Service was lovely but lack of attention to detail. I have requested a prosecco on arrival as a surprise to celebrate our Anniversary and had to ask for it as well as no dietary requests been asked as precaution.
First impression was super chill atmosphere, great selection of whiskey.
Staff super friendly and food was absolutely incredible would 110% go back and recommend to anyone I know.
The best dishes was the first two dishes, but it went down hill from there. The food had interesting elements but often disjointed flavours and not up to the standard you would expect from a degustation menu. Portion sizes were too small so you left hungry after 6 courses. The adjacent table was noisy making conversation hard. The deserts, were the most disappointing with ice-cream that could have come from Aldi.
Truly lovely restaurant. Friendly, attentive and polished service. Fantastic food enjoyed by all in our party which included a young woman aged 11.
Fantastic food, simply amazing. We have been here a number of times and it never fails to impress and amaze.
Dinner at Malt is a must! Quiet and intimate, relaxed but professional and friendly staff, and the food is to die for!! Congratulations to a wonderful Chef! I had the yellow fin tuna cerviche, the pea wontons and the Malt brownie.....flavour upon flavour! My husband had the half dozen fresh Tasmanian oysters, the quail, and shared my brownie. Service was timely, friendly and informative, but not intrusive. We will definitely be back.
