We look forward to hosting you and your guests soon.
The overall experience was excellent, service was first class and efficient; staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly and the ambience was what was expected on the night. The food was extremely well prepared, presented and in most cases exquisite. Some of the food was so flavourful that it out shined others. The pairing of wines with each dish was very well done and complemented the food throughout the meal. A great place for both (adult) family and intimate dining - I can't wait to return.
Good place to try out "fun" and unusual dishes, quite well balanced. Wagyu main dish was a bit of a let down (not juicy). Nice ambience and view. Small portions.
It’s really off the beaten track. Menu seems to be simple for what you get. Loved the pork, but I didn’t personally love the candy melon.
Only 2 staff waiting.
All meals were delicious and great serving sizes with the exception of the kingfish sashimi which tasted too vinegary. I highly recommend the delicious honey potatoes, roasted cabbage and the brownie. Unfortunately the service was exceptionally slow. The waiter was nice, but seemed bored and unenthusiastic about his job. He didn’t come to take our order for food and drinks, clear the table, or refill water glasses except for when asked.
Absolutely delicious food. The 6 course tasting gives cuts out the hard decision making and gives you the best of the menu!
Excellent venue, vibe, food and wine. Highly recommend.
Hey Thanks for sharing your comment Best wishes The Drum Team
Our party of 3 had the 6 course tasting menu. Superb. It was difficult to name a favourite. Each course had different elements of flavour and texture, and visual appeal which delighted all of us. Don’t miss the Malt Dining experience, and whiskey bar.
Larelle Thanks for taking the time to send through your comments and for the bar cudos. We hope you have a relaxing break. See you in the new year The Malt Team
Terrific Food and Service. Would definitely recommend.
Service was amazing. Wine was expensive. Fully licensed
After reading so many wonderful reviews about the food we were a little disappointed. We ordered the tasting menu and three of the six dishes were fabulous, the other three not so good. Most disappointing was the lamb, which was nicely cooked but was quite chewy and not much flavour. The wine list was also quite limited. Service was great and the room is beautiful.
I had high expectations for this restaurant but unfortunately these weren't met. Food was good but we ordered the charcoal beef and beef was tough and hard to cut so obviously wasn't cooked well. Service was okay but I have experienced better at other restaurants in Brisbane. We went on a weeknight and it wasn't that busy (empty tables), yet we still had to call the waitor over to get their attention to make our order. And in regards to the atmosphere, it just wasn't there. Some of the decor was a little outdated. We could also hear the dishes being washed in the kitchen from where we were sitting. For the price we paid, I don't think we'll go back.
Thanks bro a lovely evening and making the night a good memorable one.
This place is highly overrated. Wired smell in the dining area smells like cat stool, for real. We ordered quail although okay texture, flavour comparable to Korean fired chicken garnished with caned jalapeños and baby corn. Charcoal Beef was a disaster, barely chewable, poorly seasoned. Service is bad too, we have a table booked but had to actually phone call the reception to get someone down to let us in. Overall this is a fine dining price but street food quality. Very underwhelming
Dining at Malt was an absolute surprise and can’t wait to return. The way the food was designed & presented was exciting as well as mouthwatering. Thank you for an amazing evening.
Delicious food. I love the drink pairing. Really could do with some atmosphere! It felt like a pub, which made me doubt the food. Luckily the food lived up to the price tag. But when I want a fancy night out, I tend to choose a place that feels fancy. I'd love to come back, but I'll wait for a casual night rather than a special occasion since it felt so low key.
Great atmosphere and helped us celebrate our anniversary in a lovely style
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious !
One of the best restaurants! Such amazing food, delicious cocktails and comfortable atmosphere. Thank you for making my partner and my anniversary so special.
If you're getting bored with the same food and want to try something different this is the place for you. The menu has some different combinations and flavours. Our waitress made some suggestions for our entrée and mains/sides, which were spot on. I didn't need help deciding on dessert or the cocktail. Great place for a special dinner.
Loved it going to recommend to family and friends!
The chairs are uncomfortable, which makes for an unsettling dining experience. Certain staff need to speak more clearly to explain drinks and food.
Absolutely loved the food and service. Hands down, one of the best places I have eaten. The food is incredible, and we loved the service, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great recommendations.
Interesting menu. Excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Quality food with interesting flavours, great service and chilled ambiance.
Not heaps to choose from on menu.
Beautiful restaurant. Loved the exposed brick wall. The food was very tasty and classy.
Had the 6 course meal. Could halve the watermelon prosciutto course. Quail and lamb were over-salted. Mango gelato too sweet. Venue was beautiful, but the street art is at odds with the building and furniture. For a $220 meal, I would have preferred it too be more classic looking. The restaurant needs to figure out if it wants to appeal to youth or yuppies.
Amazing. Little gem in the CBD
We were all happy with our meals which were delish! No complaints!
The food had way too many sauces which did not complement each dish. The A/C was also way too cold and was not changed even though a number of the clientele were complaining. Really disappointed.
Food was unreal and the service was outstanding! If we lived in Brisbane we'd back every weekend!
The food was incredible. Myself and my wife had the meat degustation menu for $89. Great value.
Definitely recommend Malt Dining. Only negatives were the length we waited between course 1 and 2 was far too long and I sat without a beer for 15 mins before I managed to get the attention of a passing waitress but in terms of the food and overall experience, we’ll definitely be back!
Loved it. Friendly service and the food was amazing. We ordered both degustations and shared them between 2. There wasn’t a serving that we didn’t love.
Great food;flavourful, interesting and well put together. High quality service and ambience.
Attentive service and enjoyable food.
Difficult for all during COVID but staff managed very well.
Delicious food, friendly and helpful but unobtrusive staff, excellent service and ambience. A great dining experience!
Excellent food, excellent service. Had a great anniversary there.
Really lovely experience. We look forward to dining at the restaurant again.
Absolutely fabulous experience at Malt Dining. The venue is lovely and relaxed with lots of ambience but no ‘noise’ per se. The food was exquisite and interesting. We went for my husband’s birthday and were spoilt for choice of vegetarian options. We loved that the food was locally sourced and the beers were all local, including the having a local microbrewery (Slipstream from Yeronga) on tap. We ended up going for the menu options rather than the degustation as it was significantly cheaper but gave us nearly all the same options. Our waiter was brilliant; he was knowledgeable, friendly and not remotely snooty. When I booked online, I put a note in that it was my husband’s birthday and when we ordered dessert, without being reminded, it came out with a candle! I was just so impressed at this restaurant! Best of all, it was extremely reasonably priced, I couldn’t believe we were able to get such a gourmet experience with a few drinks for under $200. Overall, I couldn’t recommend Malt Dining highly enough and thoroughly look forward to going back soon.
We dined on Thursday the 1st of October, We all had a degustation 1 vegetarian, 2 omnivore and with wine pairing.
My friend has allergies to chilli and capsicum (which I informed before arrival) and Malt happily altered the meals.
The wine pairings were perfect and the food was amazing, with flavours paired that I have not tasted before but all worked well.
The staff were lovely, knowledgable and fun.
We all can not wait to go back later in the year and try the summer menu.
The restaurant also has a lovely atmosphere with brick walls and high wooden ceilings.
I would recommend this restaurant for any from business meetings to an anniversary and everything in between!
