Attractive, upstairs space and good service. Out of 5 dishes between two of us, four were very good indeed. One cauliflower entree seemed to belong to a different menu, but was still fine. Good wine. Would definitely return.
Great wine and food... Very unique dishes.
The service was outstanding!
The service and food was wonderful as always. My only issue was that a rather large party table was behind my date and I so it was difficult to have a conversation. Aside from that highly recommend Malt, it’s a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing parent's date night. Thank you very much. Travis was an amazing and attentive waiter. Please tell him thank you from us.
Only feedback we could offer would be to maybe include another red meat I.e a lamb to the Ala carte menu for those that don't tend to the seafood side of things.
The oysters were incredible. Duck beautifully presented and the pork was really really good .
Thanks once again
Lovely surroundings. Friendly, helpful service from welcome in the downstairs bar to dining room. Enjoyed the delicious 6 course tastings option which was happily adjusted for the gluten free person in our group.
Great service and cozy place. The food was amazing with a very nice presentation. However, a little too salty for my taste (and I am someone who likes salty food) but I would come back again. In general good experience
My favourite and never disappoints. Staff welcoming and friendly.
His was the 3rd visit to Malt for me. Food was great again, and the Brocolli as a side was something special. The ambience was a little underwhelming, as it didn't feel like it had done in the past as I remembered it. Still pretty good though and service was good, but not as up to par as it used to be.
Overall, it was an okay dinner but not what it used to be. The mains took a long time to arrive after entrees and the wines we had were okay, but not superb. What we often came to Malt for, was the consistency in quality. Apart from the baked cauliflower (which was outstanding), both mains we had were extremely over-seasoned. The duck was very tough so most likely overcooked.
Excellent venue, with character. Food and service are very good.
Lovely venue and great atmosphere.
Vegetarian tasting menu was excellent, only the dessert left us with a question mark.
Service was lovely but lack of attention to detail. I have requested a prosecco on arrival as a surprise to celebrate our Anniversary and had to ask for it as well as no dietary requests been asked as precaution.
First impression was super chill atmosphere, great selection of whiskey.
Staff super friendly and food was absolutely incredible would 110% go back and recommend to anyone I know.
The best dishes was the first two dishes, but it went down hill from there. The food had interesting elements but often disjointed flavours and not up to the standard you would expect from a degustation menu. Portion sizes were too small so you left hungry after 6 courses. The adjacent table was noisy making conversation hard. The deserts, were the most disappointing with ice-cream that could have come from Aldi.
Truly lovely restaurant. Friendly, attentive and polished service. Fantastic food enjoyed by all in our party which included a young woman aged 11.
Fantastic food, simply amazing. We have been here a number of times and it never fails to impress and amaze.
Dinner at Malt is a must! Quiet and intimate, relaxed but professional and friendly staff, and the food is to die for!! Congratulations to a wonderful Chef! I had the yellow fin tuna cerviche, the pea wontons and the Malt brownie.....flavour upon flavour! My husband had the half dozen fresh Tasmanian oysters, the quail, and shared my brownie. Service was timely, friendly and informative, but not intrusive. We will definitely be back.
Some aspects of the food disappointing. Also what is a $38 bottle of wine off the street sold here for $73 (which we expect I guess) but they still overcharged to $95. When error found no apology offered at all. Despite trying hard, we would not come back here again unfortunately.
The food was phenomenal- amazing! The lights however we're so dim we needed a phone light to read the menu and we specifically went to this bar as the add and website said it had a piano - but nothing when we are there - I was embarrassed as it was my turn to organise the entertainment. Lucky the food really was impressive and I had a table of foodies.
The lemongrass chicken was amazing and Dan is always attentive.
Superb. Delicious food and attentive, professional service, in a sophisticated and warm ambience. Highly recommend the vegetarian degustation.
Delicious food, lovely staff, and nice rustic setting. Would definitely recommend dining at Malt.
Excellent and quick service, nice quiet atmosphere, lovely room presence and very tasyt meal
Impeccable food in a beautiful historic space. Lovely service - always a great experience to dine at Malt
Beautiful food and ambience. Thoroughly enjoyable, will be back.
One of the best dining experiences we've had in Brisbane in a long time. Wonderful service, delicious food and the greatest playlist ever heard while dining [at the perfect volume]. Cannot wait to return!
Fantastic food and service. Decor/ambience could be improved - it looked a little like another business had moved out and not enough change had been made to raise the aesthetic to meet the standard of the food and service, which were outstanding.
Great night at Malt Dining for our couples dinner.
The initial waiter was lovely and accommodating but the manager who took our order forgot to put it in and people after us were having their meal. He was dismissive when we ordered and quite off handed.
The cocktails were the worst I have ever had and tasted like liquid pesticide, honestly couldn’t believe there was any alcohol in there. The table was accumulating glassware, the initial waiter asked about our order and did not realise it had been taken well before this. We advised the manager took it and watched him approach the manager almost 30 minutes after our order and then it was put into the system. Two of us ate and the food was average but my partner still didn’t have his main. We were finished and still the time was ticking....
We decided to leave and declined to pay for the main that never arrived and the manager STILL never apologised for a thing....forgetting our food, serving separately and generally dreadful service and attitude from him.
I have never written a review and would never return to this shamble of a restaurant.
Absolutely beautiful meal. Nice ambience and nice and private from other diners. The beef, cabbage and broccoli was a perfect combo! Nice Tempranillo wine too! Couldn’t fault this place! Definitely be back!
The Six Course meal was absolutely exquisite along with the wine selection that accompanied each one. The staff were very cordial and knowledgeable, delivering exceptional service. We highly recommend this alluring restaurant, for those who would like to enjoy a culinary experience.
My hubby and I went there as we are trying all the restaurants we want to try before our baby arrives. The atmosphere was great. Love the decor. The food was good- however we have found the service from wait staff was appalled- it’s like they can’t get away from us fast enough, the girl didn’t explained anything, told her I’m pregnant so can’t eat raw fish amd hubby allergic to nuts, she dumped the food on the table ( giving me the raw dish) then when I told her it was hubby’s she rolled her eyes, and walked away. Waited for a VERY long time for her to clear the table amd we made it very clear we were finished. No explanation of the food or offering of desserts menu until we asked for it,
Good food but poor service.
Beautiful food, presentation great and good variety to choose from
Fantastic place with outstanding food. My partner and I are now obsessed with the Pea Wontons- another kind of heaven.
Beef briscuit was actually very good, the Jus was outstanding. Fried potatoes were a bit sweet for my taste but the fish was cooked perfectly and we were very satisfied.
Great dining experience. Staff are all very helpful, and the food and wine were delicious. Not often you have a degustation menu where every meal hits the mark, but this one did.
Very good food. The service was excellent. Definitely would come again.
We had a great visit! Good food and great service and we were pleasantly surprised with the value for money.
Delightful experience, wonderful food, and attentive fun staff.
