Madame Wu, in Brisbane, serves a fresh and tantalizing spin on contemporary Asian cuisine in its wildly exotic and stylish restaurant. For ideal starters, try an array of dumplings, such as the lamb dumplings with spicy Sichuan sauce, the fried fish dumplings with coriander verde sauce and the pork dumplings with corn puree, all of which are delicately prepared and perfectly seasoned. Some of Madame Wu's specialties include the pan-fried Mooloolaba prawns in nori seaweed butter with rainbow chard, the roasted pork belly with herbs, peanuts and hot and sour sauce and the tender beef cheeks braised in sugar and soy with black bean and chili sauce. Vegetarian dishes, like the stir-fried mushrooms braised in jorim broth with steamed tofu and the green beans fried with soy bacon, are simply delectable.

Booked easily with open table, on the day! Great location, great food, great service! Consistently good! We are always happy to go there!
Amazing food and cocktails, everyone was very impressed
Fabulous food, lovely views and the quantity in the lunchtime banquet special was extremely generous.
I made the booking in advance and had specified it was a special birthday. We dined on Sunday night so didnt think it would be overly busy. When we arrived the host at the front barely cracked a smile in our direction and sat us down at a table for four (there was two of us).He then took away the additional plates and cutlery. Not sure why they were there to begin with if we booked. The table was next to a glass wall that was directly opposite the front desk. It was a horrible spot. I asked if we could move to one of the smaller table for two that had a better outlook and was told those tables were booked. We were moved to a high top table that was practically in the door way but it was better than the table for four. I watched on for the entire evening as the other tables outside were never used. It was really upsetting that we couldn't just sit there. They did however acknowledge my partners birthday but when dessert came out, no sparkler or candle however 5 minutes later another table for two were presented with a cake, sparkler and a birthday cheer. Really disappointing that we were treated way less than other patrons on the evening. $200 not well spent. The food was great, the service was shocking. We travelled from 90 minutes away to dine here as I had heard lovely reviews. What a terrible decision!
Great range of food for those with a gluten allergy has its own gluten free menu an still a fabulous range off food.
Great service and a great location
Having been to MU on several previous occasions I was disappointed this time. The wait person was snooty and abrupt. Wouldn’t let us order entrees first to get the meal started - had to order the whole meal at once. Who is the customer here? We didn’t tip because of this. She was rude in her explanation of some meal sizes when asked.
Scallop Dumplings were dry and in need of a sauce and the pork hock was was way too dry. Good beans, fried rice , duck buns and chicken ribs.
Having just been to China Doll and China Diner the week before in Sydney I was very disappointed in MU’s food. Especially as we spent $350 with only 3 alcoholics drinks included. Time to visit other competitors MU and up your game.
Reception staff very nice.
A great family celebration with very good food and service - we loved it.
Excellent meal and exciting lively venue. Had one of the Banquets for two. The food was fantastic and there was more than enough although the timing of some of the dishes was a bit "off". At one stage we had four larger dishes delivered at once and unfortunately they tended to get cold as there was just too much to get through at quickly. Only gripe really. Otherwise it was very good and would be happy to return (sooner than later.....). Would recommend the "upgrade" for desert at $5/head as the tasting plate was terrific.
Just felt the staff wasn’t really good with taking orders on time. We had to look for our waiter to take order for more than 30 min and this was after we were told we couldn’t order just starters.
It was very cold and we were outside, and we asked for a heater to be turned on. But the staff told us that they were broken. We thought this was very pour service. We also waited a long time for our meal.
We had the banquet #2, and I'd say majority of the dish's flavor was off balance, either too salty, too sweet, too bitter. It seems the ingredients were all fresh but the chef seems to be over doing it. Also, maybe it's because it's a "fusion" restaurant, all the dishes seems to lack focus, I couldn't really see the direction the chef was going with these. Overall for $85 pp, it was very poor value for money.
Great atmosphere, great service, but the chef is bringing this restaurant down.
Some of the best food Ive ever tasted and what a view! Amazing value.
Great place for a special occasion. We`d love to come more often but our budget doesn`t stretch past the special occasion!
Great setting,friendly staff,terrific menu,excellent chefs,beaut food,great drinks range.
The staff at Madame Wu were amazing! They made our evening really special as I noted it was our anniversary. The food was great, the duck buns were phenomenal, definitely a must have!
I will definitely be coming back here soon
Great venue and location And the food was good. Service was pretty terrible actually had to go to the counter and ask for some one to take our order as they forgot our table. Also forgot to bring water to the table and take any drink orders and managed to bring the food out in a different order than requested. They may have been short staffed there was a lot of people on but service got better as the venue emptied out later. Price was really reasonable may just be a venue to avoid at peak times like Friday and Saturday evening.
Delicious food, great view! We ordered the banquet and everything that came out was amazing. Ive been once before but it was my husband's first time, it's definitely a new favourite of ours.
My wife loves duck. The half duck was tough although a generous quantity.
A waitress knocked my full glass of water over and the water landed in my lap, spent what was left of the evening in wet pants. The manager did give us a discount, but still the duck was considered inedible.
A restaurant of that quality should be above that. We were most disappointed, and probably won't be returning. Our special occasion dinner was an anti climax
Fabulous food and great view. Always a pleasure dining at Madame Wu's.
Wonderful different and tasty light food - just the right amounts. Terrific service and Brisbane's best scenic location. Loved it all.
A fabulous place to catch up with friends. The experience was so good that I am taking my husband back there. Service was great, food was beautiful and the ambience exceeded expectations.
Great food as usual - just a pity we couldn't order the banquet for 2 people (we had 4 on our table)
Good services but the whole table was not accessible to the staff due to its location on the balcony, so drinks and dishes had to be passed down the table by my friends so the people against the wall could get their food and drinks. Overall it was okay, being my third visit now this was not the best. The staff are friendly but we were a little rushed to order.
Food was great unfortunately was spoilt by the lack of interest in serving us by the waitress.
We selected the lunch banquet. The service was very good, friendly and happy. The food was good, though the modern Asian fusion was somewhat interesting. The duck buns were ok but the duck meat is too overpowering. I liked the lamb dumplings and the chicken ribs.
Overall the location is fantastic, an absolute great view but i felt very squashed in. The table was a bit small but i understand trying to make the most of the available room.
I enjoyed the meal and atmosphere and would recommend this restaurant to others.
Fantastic food and service can't wait to visit again soon
Lunch here is interesting, good value with a sense of occasion. Food and view are excellent, and even better at night
Great food and service. We had the banquet .. rno6ugh for everyone.
Delicious food, great service.
Our son had a great 17th birthday and a fun family night out.
It was a treat for us, great food in a lovely location. We were surprised at how young the other patrons were - think we were the only ones over 40! The staff were efficient and friendly although a little slow initially. We had checked out the menu prior and knew what we were ordering so felt we were left with menu for too long before they took drink & food orders.
Food, service and atmosphere was good. I'll return to try more of the menu.
Beautiful food and will definitely be back. Only small criticism was the rather unfriendly young gentleman who showed us to our table. Wasn’t the best start, however, the girl who then went on to serve us was wonderful and made up for his disinterest and poor attitude.
Third time I've been to this place. The menu is presented on little folded pieces of paper (at first I thought it was a napkin!) but once you open it you realise that the biggest problem is having to choose and leave something out, however there are choices of a $65 or an $85 banquet which will give you a representative sample across the whole menu from entrees to mains. You can have a banquet even for two and the food just keeps coming. Just amazing dishes that excite the palate at every turn. My favourites were the smoked ocean trout, fennel green chilli mayo and watercress salad, the beef cheeks braised in rock sugar and soy, black bean and chilli sauce and the crispy pork hock, red vinegar, apple and nashi salad in a stones ginger reduction. To die for!
We flew up from Sydney for a special occasion. Only one of us had been there before. the four of us thought it was some of the best food we had eaten. Just outstanding and a superb wine list and great ambiance. Only issue was it was a bitterly cold night- some more heaters would have made the night faultless. We will be back . Congrats on a great restaurant.
Amazing food! We had the set tapas menu for a business lunch. Delicious meal. I will definitely be back. #yum #goodfood
I had been to Madame Wu with friends and wanted to show my husband how great the food was then and is still now. Service was exceptional and staff were friendly and courteous. The young lady who served us was just lovely.
We had the $40 banquet and was sufficient for us especially with bottle of red wine. All in all a wonderful day for my husband and I. We will definitely be returning.
Staff are very friendly and provide good service. The food is consistently excellent and has enough options to keep me coming back. Powerful flavours and great for sharing with portion sizes just enough to ensure you are not overdoing it. Outside on the veranda is my preferred spot, great views and a nice open air feel that allows the noise to escape.
Celebrating a joint bday date ~ the waitress asked about what we were celebrating and gave us a complimentary shot which was incredibly sweet. Food and cocktails were also amazing 😍
My friend and I had a fantastic night on Friday. She was visiting from New Zealand so I wanted to take her somewhere special with an awesome view. She was blown away by the restaurant, the gorgeous food and the waitress we had(sorry can't remember her name) was amazing. We were very happy just sitting there taking in the view, ambience and of course the yummy cocktails. Thanks for a great night, I will definitely be back.
The food was average at best. Value was okay, service was decent.
After many great experiences at this restaurant I knew it would be the place to take a very important client of mine, or so I thought. Feature dish being the duck, I notified the waiter that it did not taste right and was not to the quality I had previously experienced, to which the waiter replied I’ll check with the chef. Finally they returned to let me know that the chef found the duck to be fine even though neither of us could eat it. Paid for the bill and left without even an apology from the service staff, won’t be back.
