Madame Wu, in Brisbane, serves a fresh and tantalizing spin on contemporary Asian cuisine in its wildly exotic and stylish restaurant. For ideal starters, try an array of dumplings, such as the lamb dumplings with spicy Sichuan sauce, the fried fish dumplings with coriander verde sauce and the pork dumplings with corn puree, all of which are delicately prepared and perfectly seasoned. Some of Madame Wu's specialties include the pan-fried Mooloolaba prawns in nori seaweed butter with rainbow chard, the roasted pork belly with herbs, peanuts and hot and sour sauce and the tender beef cheeks braised in sugar and soy with black bean and chili sauce. Vegetarian dishes, like the stir-fried mushrooms braised in jorim broth with steamed tofu and the green beans fried with soy bacon, are simply delectable.

The food, wine and service was great, however there was a large group of very, very loud young ladies right behind our table which made us leave early. Would have liked to stay a bit longer and enjoy the view and have another glass of wine.

Food & Waiter service was great during dinner however towards the end of the evening someone in our group slipped on the slate style tiles on the balcony area and didn’t receive adequate service/care from the staff from a safety perspective considering the restaurant has a duty of care to their patrons.
Another person in our party had to request that an incident report be done incase the injury was deemed serious once medical assistance had been received. To hear one of the staff brush off the injury and say it’s probably just shock is quite disappointing considering Madame Wu is reputable fine dining establishment.
Further to this, once staff attended our party with ice and to check if we needed anything this waiter then also slipped and nearly fell over on the same tiles but brushed it off by saying oh I only slipped because I’m wearing $3 Kmart shoes. This alone proves that the outdoor tile area is far too slippery and consideration should be given to rectifying this to avoid future incidents.
After seeking medical assistance, the knee injury has been deemed quite serious further emphasising that something needs to be done regarding the outdoor tiles at Madame Wu.

Beautiful restaurant, seated outside on the balcony overlooking the river with an amazing view of The Story Bridge lights. Booking at 5:30 so while lovely to look at, the wind did wip around the table umbrella (annoying). Once the sun set, it was worth it though as the city lights started coming on - it made for a wonderful setting.

Table service needs to improve - we all felt as though we were constantly trying to get the attention of wait staff to order drinks.

Table of 6 - had to order all food at once - which didn't allow us to control the time in between entrees and mains. Disappointing as I couldn't finish my main - too full!!! And didn't have room to try dessert :( We all felt if we were able to control this, we would have spaced it out reasonably over the 2 & 1/2hr seating giving us plenty of time to finish what we ordered and then order more from the dessert menu.

Food was outstanding!!! I believe the food, location and ambience are what make this restaurant special and I would definitely recommend it. Will go back again with just myself and my partner to see if we have a better service experience with just 2.

Dishes sounded amazing however they were over cooked, therefore dry. The half duck was dry and not juicy, the Mooloolaba prawns were dry, the lobster dumplings were dry - none of these were moist as we were expecting. I’m sure they would have been great if not for being dry

We have been here a few times, but this time we decided to have the $85 menu. I’d have to say it was disappointing as I find the 65 menu much better for value. To upgrade and only get 1 oyster, 1 prawn and steamed rice, mussels (poor man seafood) was a bit of a let down. Your venue is always awesome but this time you didn’t hit the mark with food. I’d suggest adding $20 on per head and just make your offering a bit more special then current. People will pay it and if they don’t your other option suit. You are a destination restaurant, blow people’s socks off with you premium banquet. Service was at a very high standard. Scotty

We had an early booking and ordered the banquet. The pork, which is part of the banquet came out very late (after all other main dishes were complete), we were then hurriedly served our desserts as all the plates for the next sitting were placed on the table next to us as a "hurry up and get out of here". There was no apology for the delay to the pork, or offer to perhaps stay a little later because of their delay.

We ordered a bottle of wine and were bought a glass. Easy fixed, but showed poor attention to detail.

I advised a dietary requirement on placing an order for the banquet and was advised I would be told what was dairy free. The first dish came out with no obvious dairy, so I assumed it was safe. After eating my portion, the waitress come tell me that the mayonnaise on the dish contained dairy. Luckily I only have an intolerance, not an allergy. I specifically asked if one portion of the fish could be served not placed on the cauliflower puree (containing dairy), this was not done and I was however offered an apology.

The view is why we went and the food actually tasted pretty good.

I usually post only glowing reviews of restaurants or would stay silent, but when you pay over $100pp for a dinner (including drinks), I simply expected better service.

Madame Wu was worth the wait! I have been wanting to come here for years just never had the time whilst visiting Brissy. So I am very glad I finally got to dine, the food was divine, the atmosphere was awesome, the view was brilliant and the staff knew the menus well and were happy to talk me through special dietary needs.

The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and very professional. I would recommend Madame wu to all my family and friends.

First time here and not the last. The waiter listened to me for once and let me know about any allergy issues with the menu. The food was so delicious and flavoursome. Our kids stated they were not hungry, and just had entrees. They then proceeded to eat half of our meal too ! One of the best meals I have had in a long time.

Arrived for our reservation at 545pm and instead of a warm welcome we were told that our table would be needed for someone else at 815pm. Not a good first impression! We fully understand the second sitting, however, that’s not want you want to hear when you first walk in the door. Food was quite bland, however, our wonderful waitress realised we weren’t fully enjoying the food and went the extra mile to recover the situation.

Great decor and location on river - friendly staff...food has lot of promise but our dumplings had dried out by time the arrived and other dishes...tasty..but just not quite tops...food was very very slow coming out of kitchen...ended up a long late night for a quick Thursday night dinner. Manager very apologetic and did offer complimentary drinks which were appreciated..but would have preferred food on time as opposed to more alcohol..:)

I’ve been here so many times with friends and we always order the same dishes. We were a little disappointed with the lobster/crap sandwich/boa that wasn’t on the menu. Please bring it back🙏 It was our favourite dish - we would even have one each for the entree. We’ve told friends of friends and visiting friends from interstate and overseas to try it too! We all agree it’s a winner:)
