   First time visit. Came for the Houston restaurant week. Awesome ambience, ended up being seated outside which actually ended up being a good choice as the live DJ was getting a little loud for dinner conversation. But perfect for drinks at the bar ! Food was phenomenal. Glad we were able to try so much of the menu through the HRW menu. Will definitely be back !

   Went there for the restaurant week menu. We thought it was a great opportunity to give back and also have a nice dining experience in what we heard was amazing restaurant. When we got there, the hostess took us to our table and told us there was a maximum of 2hrs for dinning with them so they could honor other reservations…. And then we waited, and waited… and waited for almost 30 min. We complain and they recognized our server had way too many tables (10 to be exact) and apologized. New server was assigned to us and he did an amazing job. Food was ok, but not wow. Having traveled to Spain several times, I can say the place is not to compare with the real thing

   First time trying this place out for HRW. This place says it’s known for its gastronomy but every dish that came out, the explanation was general. We were expecting a description of how the chefs came up with the idea, etc. Although the staff was attentive (removing finished plates out of our way), we only saw our waiter when he came by to pour our wine. There was a period between course 2 and 3 where we were waiting +30 min. We finally had to ask the FOH to see what was going on - only to be told that it was because the system was down which caused a bit of confusion in the back of the house. Would’ve been nice to know instead of being left to ponder at our table. When the food finally arrived, one of the staff apologized for the delay and asked if we wanted a refill of our drinks that will be comped off. The music got extremely loud as time went by. We noticed the wait staff paying attention to us more at this point - which made me uncomfortable going from 0 attention to being asked if we’re doing okay every 5 minutes. Our bill ended up close to $300 - which the last time we spent around this amount was at Musaafar and had such a better experience. The drinks were also not comped - but we had no energy to bring it up at this point.

   Not the best experience, I think waiters need to be more close to customers. Restaurant close at 3pm, we’re still eating and can’t bring drinks due system is close and preparing to change for dinning.

   The overall experience was very good until they called the last round at 10.10pm ?? So if you want a coffee, you need to order it whilst still having wine or cocktails....ridiculous. People actually walk into Spanish restaurants later than MAD's closing hour and switching all the lights on at 10.45pm when some people are still at their table is not done. Having a bar and a live dj makes little sense if you close at 10.10.

   Cocktails were great. BCN their sister restaurant is much better food quality. Ambience was lovely, however again BCN take the win of these two sister restaurants.

   If you want to try MAD for Houston Restaurant Weeks, don’t. If you are not dining from the full price menu, you are not made to feel welcome to enjoy your dining experience. They want you in and out quickly, so they can get in as many seatings as possible. The waitstaff and bartenders are super friendly and engaging. But management and host staff are not, and are downright rude. While the meal was fantastic, the experience was lacking. They don’t seem very interested in creating an enjoyable dining experience for their patrons.

    Houston Restaurant Month, our evening meal was delicious, service was faultless. Our first time to dine @ MAD, will definitely return. Loved the ambience, totally Madrid! Service was faultless, even though the restaurant was extremely busy.

    Update: After posting the following the manager reached out to apologize & credited a portion of the bill. ***************************** Overall the food was a huge disappointment. The woodfired chicken was extremely tough & dry, (the dog thought it was ok) almost everything was room temp including a filet. We had 4 course meal & most dishes appeared to have been pre cooked & sorta warmed up to serve. We were a party of 4. Most courses were served piecemeal. 2 or 3 people would be served then we'd sit & wait for the rest of the table to receive their food. $37 for 1/4 glass of wine. Save your money.

    Went on a date with my boyfriend. Decided to do HRW. Food was good, the best were the steak tartar and the filet mignon. Ambiance was amazing. Devon was our server. Food timing could have been better, waited around 20 min per course. Our main course arrived and we didnt get our side of truffle fries. Waited 10 min for Devon to come to our table but we ended having to ask a someone to call him over, he then proceded to say he had forgotten to put in the order for the fries which I appreciated the honesty, gave me a free glass of wine for the inconvenience. Overall okay experience.

    Terrific timing on four Houston restaurant week orders that provided 14 courses for each of us by treating each one as a tapas. Balanced menu but would not recommend the steak tartare or the calamari. Was surprised three of the items on the restaurant week menu were not available and the reservation was at 6 PM. Will go back but most carefully order. The Paella with dark and the fire and ice fillet were outstanding

    Went to enjoy Restaurant Weeks menu at 6 pm on Sunday. Many of more popular dishes not available. Tip was included in the bill automatically. Rather than argue for another bill, I paid the included tip, but the experience didn’t warrant the tip.

    We certainly recommend that diners try the MAD experience. Unique decor, Vibrant crowd, and a very creative menu. Of course, it's pricey, so be ready to spend a lot. But you'll probably come away with an interesting story to tell your friends. Oh, be sure to try your luck at finding the correct restroom. The restroom hallway is 100% mirrors, floor to ceiling.

    Drinks are great, definitely a cocktail bar. Molecular is cool but sacrifices flavor. Food was moderate/good. I would go back for cocktails most definitely, order tapas/small bites as well.

    If you would like to have lunch there, must know they close at 2:45pm. Last call is at that time but is not clear before reservation or upon arrival. We were notified last minute. However, food was exceptional.

    I am a chef/teacher/professor so please don’t take these accolades lightly. First time patron but definitely not the last. Stellar staff from greeters to server to bus person. It was obvious they take pride in their specific crafts. Only 1 suggestion… a tasting menu. We ordered several tapas, mains, and desserts. ALL we’re buying reproach ! Thank you for a memorable experience !!!!!!

    I was seated by the kitchen which was too loud. Employees were talking way to loud as nobody was there. I moved down a few tables but still too loud. Moved again far away from there. Much better. Food and service was great. Very interesting dishes. Beautiful presentation. Nice waiter.

    Food was amazing and delicious. We loved the unique presentation of each dish and the flavors were just as good. Cocktails were also delicious. We loved how different this restaurant was! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the service and noise level. Food and cocktails came out very quickly but it took quite a long time before we got our initial visit from a server and before he came back again to take drink orders. It was probably about 30-45 minutes before we had drinks on our table. They have a DJ come Thursdays-Saturdays and it was LOUD! We couldn't hear anything our server would say to us and we could barely hear each other speak. I don't mind loud restaurants but I have never been to a restaurant this loud before. The music level was closer to a club than restaurant. I would love to visit MAD again but not on the DJ nights.

    Sat at the bar and had a great time catching up with a friend. It wasn’t too packed, but it was busy enough for a Wednesday evening. Drinks were great appetizers were amazing. Music level was great, not too loud but not quiet and boring. Able to have a conversation without yelling. Aesthetic inside was also eye catching. I’ve been here a few times and it’s always an excellent experience!

    The food was amazing and definitely an experience. We had a great server but he was also the bartender and would forget about us. We understood it was because of how busy the bar was but hope in the future they put a server that focuses on the tables and doesn’t have to do both. Even with that it was a great experience. Once we ordered the food came quickly and everything was delicious.

    It was my wife’s birthday we made reservation at 10 pm we arrived at 9:50 and our tan was ready as soon as we get seated the bartender came to my wife and congratulated her and gave her a shot on the house look for adams was soo nice and attentive the Dj was amazing the music was awesome all night and we served very fast and they took every detail well done
