The hightea was very nice, good service and a nice assortment of hearty and sweet treats. The mad hatter theme could ‘ve been done up a bit more. Seating was outside, which was okay because of the heaters. All in all a really nice though bit expensive experience.

Took our 4 year old granddaughter to experience the Mad Hatters afternoon tea for a birthday treat, thinking it my be child friendly.
The venue was a weird converted office block turned into a hotel. It was served in a courtyard that was “OK”
The cost overall was phenomenal! Charging £35 for a child was extortionate! The food presented for a child was not adapted at all or very fitting. (Please check menu!)
extras we had were:
Two bottles of water = £11
Two nice cocktails at £9.00 each
Service charge £32.00
Total for 3 adults and 1 child = £247.00!!!!!!!!!
We were there for an hour and a quarter. I cringe at how ripped off I feel for this very forgettable experience!

Thoroughly impressed by the quality and flavor of the food! The form has most surely not outgrown the substance. Most flavourful teas we've ever had, and super yummy treats!

The food was absolutely amazing!!! The tea was delicious and the décor was adorable. My only complaint is the service charge automatically applied. My service was very minimal as I couldn't even order fresh tea. Had I been given actual service I wouldn't mind paying the charge. Would recommend though

a very nice experiance and lovely food - the toasted cheese and ham sandwiches weren't hot and it took a while to get a waiter's attention when ours went on a break but another waiter discounted the service charge because of that so that was appreciated. overall a nice place to go for a quirky and different take on afternoon tea and would definitely go back.

It really was not the experience we were led to expect through the description and the ambiance was far from it. We were seated in a corner far from everything - even the waiters. The dropped by randomly. and guests arriving a good time after us, got full service way ahead of us. The tea got cold before the food came along and instead of being asked whitch of the menues we would like, as promised up on arrive, we had to ask for everything. It felt more like we were the wicked stepsisters of Cindarella, than being present at a Mad Hatter's afternoon tea in wonderland.

The service was amazing! The tea and confectionery were excellent. The visibility and delicacy in which the 4 o'clock tea was served was well above expectations! Not only I'll recommend my friends to take part of the experience, but I'll male sure to revisit on my next trip in London.

We were sat at a table where everytime someone walked past the whole table and our tea and food shook. I asked to be moved and they were able to accommodate but the table was clearly positioned next to a loose floorboard. The service was ok food was good and filling tea was amazing but we were given a teapot with a broken spout.

Part of a UK/EU trip and wanted a traditional high tea experience. Mad Hatters added a certain whimsy to the high tea experience. The setting was delightful, tea delicious and food quite tasty with many different options to choose from. They even swapped out certain items to accommodate sensitivities. The staff were very attentive and helpful and even went above and beyond to make my friends birthday even more memorable!

If we ever re-visit London, I will make sure to have a reservation to tea at the Sanderson again. The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. No one rushed us and the general vibe was quiet and relaxing. We came hungry, and still could not finish everything.

For the price there is better Afternoon Tea’s available. I’m not a meat eater but the option for pescatarian or even vegetarian seems to be limited.

The afternoon tea was arranged to celebrate my Daughter's 30th Birthday. Having never been to the Sanderson Hotel before, I was very impressed with the overall experience. The staff were extremely friendly and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble, the interior of the hotel looked amazing and just loved the Mad Hatters table setting. The afternoon tea was delicious, especially for me the Jammie Dodger - just melted in your mouth. We were offered extra cakes if we wanted which was a nice touch. A glass of champagne went down very well. Would definitely recommend this.

This was a pleasant experience for my daughter's 19th birthday. She is vegan and said her food was good. For my wife and I the food was pretty mediocre and some way away from a classic afternoon tea. There is a cheese and ham toastie that arrived cold when it should have been warm and on a few occasions we had to catch a passing waitress to get more tea. The 'Mad Hatter' theme is well done, with nice crockery and table decorations but for the quality and volume of food it's very expensive.

Our table was over 30 mins late, so we had to hang around for a while. Our waiter was lovely, very friendly, but things seemed a bit muddled. For instance, our tea was initially forgotten about, and there was some allergen confusion. It also took nearly 30 mins for the bill to be brought to us, overall slow service. The food was nice, but nothing particularly outstanding or unique. The venue was gorgeous though! I have had more memorable afternoon teas cheaper, and with faster service.

It was a nice experience but over priced. It seemed a bit ‘tired’ like a nice idea that’s run it’s course. Everything was a little frayed, the jewellery box on the table was broken, the menus are tatty, we had to ask two or three times for straws to drink the potions etc etc. The whole thing just felt like an overused paper bag.

This was terrible. A tourist trap for sure. The service was very slow, we got our tea 50 minutes after ordering. The food was stale, they had run out of the mad hatter props and didn't bother to inform us so they served it all in regular serving dishes which was extremely disappointing to my daughter.

It was good overall, but the service was a bit slow (could be due to it being busy perhaps). We found out you book the table for 2 hours as people next to us were told they had to move if they wanted to continue as the tables were there for the afternoon tea and was needed again for a next arrival soon. Fair enough, but as our tea and everything didn't arrive till we sat for about 45 mins we did feel slight pressure to eat fast. When my friend asked for another pot of tea it again took quite a while and we had to ask for the bill 3 times, with 3 different people till it arrived. But, apart from those points it was a nice experience and the vegetarian option was delicious. We loved the tea too, called names inspired by the story.

It’s a real treat to have afternoon tea here. The bespoke china is really special and the food served on it is exquisite and beautifully created. The atmosphere is just right with a not-quite-outdoors feeling, with the sound of water from the water feature. The lobby and bar are curiously decorated but in-keeping with the Mad Hatter/Alice vibe. I loved it. The only thing I personally felt was a little out of place was the background music. It was fine, but not very in-keeping with the overall feel of the place.

Excellent surprise for my Mum's birthday. Nothing was toomuch trouble. We had 2 nut allergies in the party which they easily catered for. We weren't rushed and offered us more food to top up our plates. You could also take away leftovers in a little carrybox. Really lovely experience and my Mum had the best time.

The ambiance was good, and the presentation of the afternoon tea was unique and cute. We liked the attention to details in the small things. However, while the sandwich tier was ok, the rest of the tea was subpar, especially the scones and the desserts. The tea choices were limited, and most of them were sweet or floral.

It’s good tea for aesthetics but we suggest elsewhere if you want good, tasty tea.

This experience could not have been any better. Starting with the cozy blankets and ending with the flower pot ice cream, it more than met our expectations. Everything was so delicious I would be hard pressed to pick a favourite. The talent of the persons creating these edibles is incredible. We loved everything. The plates and cups, the jewellery box for a sugar bowl, an old book containing the menu. The delights just kept coming. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to London.

I had high hopes for tea here after reading about it on social media. The unique teas were very nice. The gluten free food was better than most other places I’ve tried but the service was not good at all. It sort of felt like an assembly line, not a restaurant. They sat us. Brought the pre made plates, the tea & forgot we were there. The same was true for the table next to us. Someone dropped off their food but waiter never came back to explain it and they had to ask for tea twice, which didn’t arrive until they were finished with the savory course. It was my friend’s birthday. I made a note of this in the booking and told the waiter when we arrived. He said they would do something special. They forgot, which was a little disappointing. Not the end of the world but for nearly £50, you expect a certain level of service & this place is just not it.

I would agree with many of the comments here. The food was nice enough, the service fine, location fine. Basically it was OK. I was disappointed with the lack of theme and felt they could and should do much more bearing in mind that's how they advertise it. The ambience was a bit lacking and those arriving all go to the wrong place due to lack of signage. I felt the music was not right for the venue and too loud. It's expensive for what it is. I won't go again and wouldn't recommend it when there are better choices available.
