Have never been disappointed with the food or service.
Great place for pre show dining.
Very interesting and tasty menu with a good choice of included wines
Our group really enjoyed the meal and the service with the exception of one wait person who was a little abrupt
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, the service always excellent, and great value for money.
Food was good , except a very long wait , everyone around were being served their food and ours was an extremely long wait , however was kept updated by Amy, who was excellent. Numerous meals coming out with waiter confusion may have caused this delay.
Had to send the chips ($9) back as they were cold, wouldn't have expected this , but put it down to a kitchen error.
Thought the menu was a bit limited !
Overall , good , but certainly room for improvement.
Lovely food, good atmosphere and had us out in the door in time for our show.
Amazing food, excellent customer service, lovely experience
Oh my goodness! What a beautiful restaurant!!! Amazing food, excellent service and perfectly comfi, a great start to a spectacular evening at QPAC with my good friend
Excellent food. Proximity to the qpac makes it really convenient. Service was slow at times but not worth complaining about. Wine prices are very reasonable. Wish I had been hungry enough for dessert but entree and main were more than enough.
Very enjoyable experience at the restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and food delicious also great value for money.
Food was well presented and delicious. Service excellent
Wonderful High Tea, good value and lovely atmosphere
Very happy. Felt very comfortable, friendly and covid-safe.
Never disappointed with the Lyrebird experience. The food was divine. Arrived prompt, friendly and professional. We had the set menu which had plenty of choice.
Great pre performance venue. Good staff and limited but interesting menu.
An evening enjoyed by us all. We hadn’t been back for many years due to disappointing experiences.
We all agreed the friendly service and great food and a fun opera made for a great night out.
Keep up the good work.
The food never fails to please - the kitchen just gets better & better. The maitre d' was his usual charming self.
Mum & I had a High tea before he Matinee show at QPAC & it was lovely. The food was very nice & the service from the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend it.
High Tea was great value for money in a lovely quiet atmosphere.
Staff were attentive and the service was very good.
The high tea was delicious and presented beautifully. The glass of champagne was a very nice accomplishment.
Very nice High Tea and look forward to evening dining soon.
A lovely place to go for good quality food. Menu is limited but every mouthful an experience. For someone who is not fond of fish, I have ordered the barramundi twice and both times cleaned the plate. The lemon myrtle meringue is superb.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The service was attentive and professional and the food and wine sublime. Our thanks and compliments to the Chef and Maître D! Would recommend without hesitation
Fabulous High tea. Delicious food, sparkling wine, tea and service.
Perfect amount of food for lunch too. Handy for the ballet afterwards. Will be back ;)
High Tea with our granddaughter before the ballet was just lovely. Staff welcoming & professional. Service excellent & food perfect. Amenities to a high standard. Highly recommended.
What a delight to be back at the Lyrebird before the ballet
Thanks - service and food lovely
We have been visiting the Lyrebird Restaurant for many years. It is an excellent venue for dinner prior to a show at QPAC.
Great food! Waiter asked us what time our show started and made the necessary arrangements so we had plenty of time. Highly recommend this place!
You'll not be disappointed, the oysters were so fresh!!, the eye fillet steak paired with a side vegetables was scrumptious
Delightfully enjoyable and beautifully presented food, with lovely service and atmosphere at the Lyrebird Restaurant.
Could value for your money and service.
We were surprised and disappointed that only High Tea was available at lunch on Saturday. Your web site is not clear on this point it states "High Tea only available for matinees".
We interpreted that to mean in addition to the regular menu, High Tea is available.
You should change the wording to " Full Menu unavailable for matinees...High Tea only."
Have had better Hi Teas, but value for money this rates highly. Would do it again.
We were off to see a play and had pre show dinner
Good food good wine and attentive staff
I was pleasantly surprised how good it was
Three of us ate at The Lyrebird before the ballet. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and larger servings that we expected. The service was exemplary. One of our group has mobility and hearing issues, and a busy restaurant can be challenging for her. The waitress was patient and professional throughout, we really appreciated her kindness. The wheelchair was taken away and brought back promptly. I'm sure we will be returning.
Somewhat ambivalent about this place. On arrival with a confirmed booking was told we could only have one course if we were going to the theatre because there was pressure on the kitchen. Rather taken aback about this.
Paid with cash, caused a an eye raising moment.
A service charge/tip was taken out of the change without letting me know.
If we were going to the theatre again would have to have a very early meal after last night's experience.
Would only recommend with reservations
Felt Staff flustered. Concerned that our guests were subject to an age check. Thought it entirely inappropriate. Steak on one of the Meals was extremely poor quality, not helped by a blunt knife, and not cooked as requested. An extra Shiraz ordered did not eventuate. Other meals ok.
Staff were informed on our departure, we had guests, and it would have spoiled the evening if these issues had been raised while we were dining.
We will return, as we have always enjoyed the quality of the service and the food in the past.
Prefer a window seat but we were running late.
Food lovely.although something came out with gluten - oops
Wait staff I think may have been new and not up to the excellent service we usually get.
Food was amazing as usual, however our plates were cleared away while I was still eating, I hadn’t even put my fork down . I felt rushed.
We arrived at 6:13 for the 6:oopm booking and called to say we had been caught in traffic...the response from the Maitre D was a short 'we will see you when you arrive then and see what we can do' leaving us both thinking that the bookings were tight and we may be left to find another option?
There were plenty of empty tables on arrival and a nice young man greeted and seated us. The floor staff were lovely and very professional.
The food was interesting, well presented, the pork belly a little dry. Ran out of white bread rolls, one should have more than enough to cover the service in this type of establishment...if the budget is that tight a few spare bread rolls breaks it then you are in trouble :) and white is always the most popular, we all know that.
However we felt rushed and rather unwelcome by the aloof and very self important Maître D. I had not even finished my main at approx. 7:05 and was handed the bill. The show starts at 7:30 pm and seats reached in a couple of minutes, there were not many people left as they had all been unceremoniously shuffled along as well, we watched quite bemused at this lack of decorum; there was absolutely no need to use the premise of the show, we have watches so this was a very condescending comment to say 'so you can be in time for the show' the man was simply keen to get out of there and perhaps reduce staff costs? Honestly the days where an obtuse European waiter is impressive are long gone.
We understand the need to be in the theatre on time, I think being allowed to complete my meal and time my activities using my own judgement is not too much to ask really.
Great place if you are attending a show and have limited time.
Great food ,wine and service
Will be a repeat customer in the future
