Good service and good value for money and food was great
Truly a unique dining experience. Not tied to the traditional formal dining, Rodney, our waiter, was very personable. Extending his service to accommodate our expectations off semi formal dining. All up, would recommend the Lyrebird to anyone who want to have a lovely quiet romantic dinner for two. Keep up the good work Rodney! Food was spectacular as well!
We have visited the Lyrebird on several occasions, generally before a show at the Lyric and always the matinee session, the Lyrebird is a perfect venue for us, serving a High Tea with a glass of wine followed by the show is the ideal day out.
Our high tea was lovely. Just the right amount of food, and the selection of food was perfect. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, The decor and features of the restaurant were very relaxing. I would definitely go again and I have already recommended it to friends. Thank you.
Usually the food is good but on Saturday evening they had run out of oysters. Put a dampener on the whole meal. The service needs to be sharpened up. Dominique the MD is very good
We always enjoy our visits to the Lyrebird. The food and wine is of a superior quality and no tummy aches afterwards.
Great food and service, and they do an amazing job at catering to everyone in plenty of time for our various concerts and shows at QPAC.
Excellent restaurant for pre-concert dining.
Service very poor-Drinks served after main meal!!The Duck dinner was so underdone the red meat was disgusting. Quite embarrassing for me to entertain my southern visitors.
Great food, efficient service and friendly staff. The duck breast was delicious and reports on the steak were superb....
We had a very nice dinner at the restaurant last Friday, had 3 course meal, all dishes were very tasty and beautifully presented.
Service was quick, as restaurant was fully booked it was a bit loud but it didn’t bother us too much, we will be back next time for pre show meal.
Very nice food , staff knew the menu well and the wine list had some great options to suit your choice of food.
From the time you walked in and finished you felt welcomed.
We had the high tea and it was fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back
This restaurant targets theatre goers and is good at getting meals out quickly to ensure guests are not late for their show. It strives to be top end - and certainly has a top end price tag but it fails at so many levels.
The menu is very limited (only 4 choices) and when we ordered the fish minus the scallop which comes on top, we were told that this was too hard and to order something else.
we both then ordered the steak - one medium and the other medium rare. It was very obvious that the meals were mixed up and we both received the incorrect one.
the final insult was having to line up at a cash register in the middle of the restaurant to pay the bill - apparently paying at the table is not acceptable. I am happy to do this at the local bowls club or at Macca's - but at a top end restaurant I would expect a higher level of service.
Food was OK and we did get to the theatre on time
Great service and food, no ambiance unfortunately!! The decor needs some attention!!
After wanting to go here for years we finally made it. We weren't let down. The meal and service was sensational!! We'll be back when we next attend QPAC.
Brilliant food and service for pre show meal - will be back
Staff were incredibly accommodating. The food was excellent!
This is great location for a show however I think it’s slightly overpriced for what you get.
Lyrebird is a hidden gem. We are regular QPAC atendees but have not tried Lyrebird previously. Highly recommended! An excellent meal with drinks and service wonderful. We will be going again.
The al la carte menu is limiting and unfortunately the air conditioning was not working properly as where we were seated it was very warm. Would not sit along the back wall again for this very reason. The service was poor as we had to continually keep trying to attract waiters/waitresses to top up our beverages.
Dining with service and exceptional value. Perfect prelude to the musical.
Outstanding service and food to die for. Our experience could not be faulted and we will definitely be back!
I have dined at Lyrebird on several occasions now for a pre- theatre dinner. It cannot be beaten for convenience but more importantly I have found the food to be faultless. Combined with very attentive service and a nice wine list, it is always a memorable experience. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and I look forward to my next visit.
Lovely food served quickly with a smile and wine selection was fine
Food is fantastic, great service and a quite atmosphere.
Dinner before seeing a show at Qpac
Nice food, but for the price, no. I'm sure its a great place to go to pre-show, but if you're NOT going to a show, why do you have to be out the door at 7.30?
I cant see why it cannot stay open for other diners to enjoy, and linger a bit longer.
Always a beautiful meal and great service! If seeing a show, you must have pre dinner here. Set menu is genius. Staff are happy, helpful and make sure your meal is served well before the show!
Thank you all as my husband and I had a very enjoyable time at your restaurant. Once we ordered our meal ( which was awhile before we were served) that was our only issue having to wait more than we had anticipated.
Leave time for the show - we arrived @6:15 for a 7:30 show and could only get 1 course. The kitchen was flat out with prior orders, so we will know next time and will definitely try again
Service was great and very aware we were off to a show. Ambience and setting lovely. Food was like a 1990’s alternate drop wedding. Come on guys time to step it up. Wasn’t bad, could be so much better.
The evening was quite enjoyable... though it took a while to gain the attention of wait staff when we were ready to order.
The ambience could be greatly improved by the addition of music (live musician would be great)... and the addition of soft furnishings to reduce the noise level.
An additional thought to increase hours to allow for the opportunity to have tea & dessert after the performance would be great also.
4th trip to lyrebird, love it before the theatre. Friendly, prompt service, they make sure you get to your performance on time. Delicious and innovative food.
Understand that’s it’s pre show but the selection of dishes was limited for someone counting calories, vegan, vegetarian, etc.
Thought the overall cost was high!
Although we'd made a booking for 6pm for a 7.30 show (leaving plenty of time to eat) our main course was overlooked and we didn't receive it until after 7, meaning we had to rush. Staff didn't seem to notice that we hadn't received the main course until after I asked about it. Other than that the meal was very good when it finally came, but we could have done without the stress of not knowing if we'd be finished in time.
We had a lovely experience, except our waitress was a bit forgetful!
Have dined here several times, and this time was not as good as before. Service was slow, meal was so long coming we had to ask where it was ( we were going to a show which was advised to the restaurant on booking ), and then there was a queue to pay, with one person on the register for quite a while.
The pre-show high tea was good value for $30 with glass of bubbles or $25 without. Service was very good. We we had one item missing on our plate which we had to ask for. The petit fours were two different flavours of macarons. This was enough food for light lunch.
Food was excellent, service quite quick given we were on our way to a show and champagne excellent. Would definitely do again.
