This was our first visit to Luxsmith. We went for a night out with friends, including our kids (12-14 years). The food was fantastic with a great selection to choose from. The menu was not too large which I like, otherwise I feel like I can't make a decision. Although in saying that I still had trouble deciding as it all sounded great. We decided to share our meals, which was even better as we got to have a try of almost everything. I think if I had to choose my favourites it would be the beef tartare and the sticky lamb ribs. We also had the the choc mouse and panna cotta for dessert, both were great. We will definitely be back to Luxsmith as we are almost locals and in any case, it is definitely worth the drive if you aren't.
You had me at unlimited sparkling water for $5, but of course the food was delicious, fresh, warm and tender!
Fantastic selection of Asian fusion cuisine with delicious Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
Our first time here and the service and food were excellent. It's not really in our hood but we are impressed enough to make the trek again!
Went for a Melbourne food and wine festival event. Three course meal with matching wine. I’ve had pretty good food here before, but this event was really disappointing. For the first course the squid was hard and rubbery, for the main the crispy duck had zero crisp and was also pretty chewy, rubbery and tasteless. Then the poached pear for dessert was hard. So poor across the board. Bizarrely also zero carbs in meal, which may appeal to some, but I was still hungry at the end. So disappointing across the board and not good value at nearly $100 a head. I always wondered why this place didn’t get better reviews, but this experience made it a bit clearer.
First time here for us and what a pleasant surprise. We went for a quick lunch and very much enjoyed the express meal, very tasty and fresh and the service was excellent.
The salad were ways too much acid. Vietnamese foods call for balance. Out of the dishes, the beetle beef was a stand out.
First time here, we were 6. Food was good although plates are on the small side eg. cauliflower pakora 'small plate' was a solitary pakora, ditto the croquette. Noise was extreme however, it's a sound Zoo. Couldn't hear across the table. Ate fast and left. Didn't stick around for dessert. What IS it with Melbourne restos, cram patrons in, hard surfaces everywhere? Will not return.
Love love love Luxsmith
We’ve been to Luxsmith on a number of occasions and never disappointed - food is terrific and service friendly, prompt and professional - highly recommend a visit...
Luxsmith is the place to go for fab food and great service. the cocktails are exciting and the food is extremely yummy. it is our favorite place to eat in the West.
Special Valentine’s Day dinner consisted of 5 Course ‘Feed Me’ Menu (shared banquet style menu. While the dinner was well patronised, it didn’t feel crowded, the ambience was great and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The 5 courses were amazing, special mention goes to the desert.
All in all a great night
My partner and I went to Luxsmith for the first time for their five-course valentines day dinner ahead of a movie screening. Not only was the food absolutely incredible (I'm serious, my partner and I could not fault it) but the staff were so incredibly kind and friendly. Knowing we had to get to a movie screening, they even sped up our courses to make sure we got out the door in time! My partner and I spent the rest of the night raving about it, and we've vowed to go back ASAP. It was busy because of valentines day but our table was tucked into a little corner and still felt cozy and romantic. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
Excellent food and service very accomodating with baby/pram
The food and atmosphere were memorable however the service was too fast. Our main course was served while we were still eating our first and it felt a little transactional . Nonetheless we will try again .. hopefully it will be better next time .
Another evening at Luxsmith. Food and service was tremendous. Its becoming one of my favourites for really modern asian food. Staff very accommodating. Highly recommended.
Every dish was full of flavour and really well balanced with spice and heat. We had the cauliflower pakora, chicken ribs, red duck curry, lamb ribs, rice an roti - heaps of food for 2 people. Attentive service and a great rose by the glass. AND unlimited sparkling water by the glass for $5 per person, brilliant!
We have been here twice in the last month and loved the Asian tapas and larger meals. Everything we tried was amazing and great value! Definately coming back!! Service was great and not in your face they were very patient with our indecisive friends.
Absolutely delicious - on par with the top city Asian fusion restaurants. We had the NYE tasting menu? Perfect quantities well spaced out and everything was delicious! Will def be back later in year to try more.
Great meals and fantastic service in a cool atmosphere.
Enjoyed our experience, loved the ambiance, the staff were accommadating and friendly and the food was lovely.
Great place to meet for a business lunch, dining with colleagues or a casual meal. Fantastic food, terrific service and never disappoints. Been many times and always a first class experience.
Overall a good experience. The food was tasty but for the price there wasn't much on the plate particularly for a family of four. Service was fantastic and friendly.
Fabulous place to dine in. Food presentation was good and tasty. Friendly staff and ambiance was great.
Luxsmith has a great menu - varied - interesting - quirky at times. There's a lot of sharable dishes. It's great for groups. The quality of the food is really great. They know what they're doing. It's a slick operation.
Excellent range of food we went for the Chef's choice which gives you a good mix of all available food - the Scallops were excellent and the kids loved the sticky pork ribs
Great menu. Something for everyone and all fresh and tasty. Happy, friendly service.
Service and food were up to their usual high standard. The wine was good and we had a very enjoyable evening.
This was my second visit and I'll definitely be back again. The food was delicious! Our first bottle of wine didn't live up to the description but the second was lovely. And did I say the food was yum... go fur the set meal - it's the best way!
Great food, great service will be back. The range of dishes makes it easy to share
Clean tasty food, excellent variety and vegan/vegetarian options. Great wine and beer, friendly efficient, knowledgeable staff, a bit noisy but that's fine.
Great food and friendly staff. Great for a nice night out
loved the food service and atmosphere and the staff were so lovely to deal with!!!
Rare these days but Luxesmith is now one of my go-to's
love the modern twist to each item on the menu also
A really enjoyable night - the beef cheeks and the mushrooms and string beans were fabulous, truly outstanding, the small plates a little underwhelming (the spices and fried nature overwhelmed the flavours). Next time I'd try others instead. Great wine selection, good cocktails - not sold on wine on tap!
Breakfast meals very disappointing - in particular the Roti
The tasting platter was really good except the yellow curry ...... Would definitely go back!!!
Absolutely delicious food, beautiful cozy atmosphere, wonderful service. Made for such a lovely night. Thank you!
Our lunches (duck salad and chicken salad) were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The quantity was just right so we weren't left feeling hungry. I love the light and airy ambience of the interior. Service is attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend.
loved the food atmosphere and service
Had a great Saturday night dinner with friends. Easy to book, great service, great food, and enjoyed the Lucky Dip wine surprise. Will definitely be back to sample the set/sharing menu.
