Excellent service and accomodating to our needs, our waitress (her name escapes me) the lovely Canadian lady was just delightful and very helpful
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Luxsmith, the service was great. We had the chicken ribs, very tasty, along with the goat curry and roti, green papaya and peanut salad and the kingfish sashimi. My pick was the chicken ribs and the goat curry.
First time at Luxsmith and I will be back! The food was beautiful! And the service was good too. Friendly staff and just a great overall experience. Definitely recommend this place!
Love that you can go next door to start your night with a glass of something special. The $60 pp "feed me" option is amazing value. Food beautiful, service attentive without being too in your face.
Well done, we will be back. Thanks for another great night!
Fantastic food and very professional service. Dealing with Fodmap dietary requirements was no problem.
Tried the feed me option and it was a hit and miss. The miso eggplant soup (this replaced the soft shell crab bao due to peanut allergy) didn't seem right as it had a cigarette aftertaste. The curry we had was bland and mushy, and with the coconut rice it was one texture. The panacotta was ok but was very simple. We ordered kingfish sashimi as an extra and it came out warm. The staff were nice but they seemed really confused on how to handle an allergy request and what we were up to in our course. At one point we didn't have any service at all. Overall, there are better dishes that could have been picked for the feed me option and paying nearly $200 at this place wasn't worth it. I would rather go to other fusion places where it far less than that price for better tasting food and better service.
Always amazing 🖤
Love it. Great menu and delicious food perfect for sharing.
Delicious food and great atmosphere
We ordered the duck spring rolls, the Massaman curry ,the miso smoked eggplant and fried rice , all where underwhelming . The menu doesn't have that many choices and surprisingly, no option of noodle.
The Spring rolls are minced duck meat and honestly, the mince is so small it could be any protein and one wouldn't notice. Also 16 bucks for 3 springs rolls is very expensive in my opinion
Both the curry and miso eggplant dishes come with rice, which i didn't know and I don't believe the menu specifies (I may be wrong here). Both lacked a bit of salt and spice. the massaman curry is very sweet and consistency is think and almost like gravy.
The Fried rice we ate a little and took the rest home. It was way too much rice for 3 people and we felt the waitress could have told us about the rice on the other dishes. The flavor was average, and you could get better fried rice in most Chinese / Malaysian shops in the city
We left the place a bit disappointed and don't think it was 90 bucks well spent (with a glass of wine) . Won't be returning i'm afraid
A lovely night was had again, with the friendly service we have come to expect.
Dined with a friend visiting from out of town. We chose the 'Lux & Chill' option which took the stress out of ordering. It was just the right amount of food and the flavours were great! The staff were knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly without being at all invasive. We ran out of time to visit the bar next door but it looks like a cool spot for drinks before dinner so will plan better next time. Fantastic experience overall and will be back!
It's a little overpriced, the food is lovely although there aren't enough options.
This was my first visit to Luxsmith and I'll definelty be back. Food, service and venue were all great. Thank you Luxsmith x
Food was great. Service appalling. Tables too close. No wine knowledge Won’t be back
My wife and I went to Luxsmith for our anniversary and were incredibly disappointed with over cooked deep fried starters and bland main course. With so many fabulous places in Melbourne to eat this is the first restaurant I have been to that I would never recommend anyone to eat at. This was compounded by our special occasion.
We had a very pleasant experience with the food the first time so we went back.
Confident of getting good food, we opted for the "feed me" menu.
BIG MISTAKE. We were not sure if we were dining at Luxsmith or in a Szechuan restaurant because the food was not what we imagined. The selection served was all spicy and very poor. And it didn't even include desert.
The service though was quite good.
We made a booking for 8.30pm and our table was not ready until 9pm. Not good enough.
Restaurant too noisy.
The entree we chose (3) Croquets, white bait and clamari, were all terrible. Especially the croquets, way too salty, but then the mains were beautiful (3) Barumundi, duck and beef cheeks, so very hard tp review. Also ordered the house red Shiraz, which came as a sparkling shiraz, that tasted like strange cordial, with bubbles. This is normally a favorite restarant of ours - but this time not so happy
My two friends and I had a wonderful night enjoying fabulous cocktails and bubbles with delicious and surprising food. We loved sharing small dishes. Perfect for a celebration!
Delicious food, excellent service, just a tiny bit loud.
The menu has a wide variety of tasty share food.
My favorite is the pork belly and the beef cheeks.
The pale ale on tape was a delight and the service prompt.
Pricing as modest and the high quality of the food made the evening a good value experience.
I would take friends who liked their food to this ristorante.
Never disappointed. Great fusion menu of spicy Viet / Korean / Italian / Aust. Brilliant flavours! Also love the wine bar they have opened next door, great start and finish to meal!
Week night visit for family catch up :)
Food was tasty and very good.
Bit on the pricier side for Vietnamese considering there are many cheaper Vietnamese cafes in close proximity
However the food is a class above :) most of those :)
It had turned a bit cool the night we visited and staff were reluctant to turn on the heater (and didn’t) which was why I scored lower for ambience and service :(
When you are a paying customer your wishes are normally attended to :(
quiet on a Saturday afternoon, bustling in the evenings.
The food is amazing! We got a bunch of small plates and then a main and sides to share. Everything we had was delicious especially the kingfish sashimi and the beef cheeks.
Considering the had only recently opened their new wine bar, I felt their service was timely. One waitress wasn’t in the best mood but aside from that we had a great evening.
We recently celebrated a birthday dinner here and had a great night. We chose the ‘you decide’ menu and we were very impressed!. To add to this we had four different dietary requirements to contend with and this was well managed and everyone thought their ‘special’ dish was best! (I did advise the restaurant when I booked!)
Comments “these are the best scallops I’ve ever eaten,” “these lamb ribs are to die for” “yay I can drink this beer it’s GF!”
The service was friendly and top notch, thanks Luxsmith for another great night.
A stunning little Asian fusion Restaurant hidden away in the Inner West. Will defiantly be recommending to all my friends.
3rd time visitor - food is fresh and full of flavour. Highly recommended.
Interesting pan-Asian food, well prepared. Pleasant attentive staff.
We chose Luxsmith for a catch up, dinner and drinks with friends and I am super glad we did! Great vibes, good drinks, impeccable service and last but not least the food was just divine!
We will definitely be back.
Sensational. The best restaurant going in the West. And great support of local product like Patient Wolf Gin 🍸🍸
The restaurant served great food, it was easy to park and the service was friendly and prompt
Food is truly outstanding. Sashimi Kingfish one of the best I’ve had. Chargrilled steak so flavorsome. Great place for sharing. Every dish was full of flavorful and staff attentive and friendly.
Father's Day launch, set course, fresh, delicious flavours. Second visit and will be back .
Overall very good, but not quite there.
KF shashimi great, fish curry great, Korean rib ok.
Duck had lovely flavors but was on the tough side.
Like the ambience they are trying to build but It’s a little too dark in there!
Overall great to support locals but it lacks the finish of a chin chin which I think is what they trying for.
Good friendly staff, and very knowledgeable on both menu and wine. Small plates were lovely and the large plates a bit small for price, but still delicious. Great place to to a partner or friend for special occasion.
We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the last few years its great sometimes other times the food is ordinary - the prices are high for the food you get and they have had the same menu for far to too long. A change in the menu every now and then or weekly specials would be something to go there for.
We drove over the westgate to go there but may not go back for a while the curry we ordered was very tasteless and flooded in coconut milk. Also the wooden chairs are very uncomfortable
Delicious as always!
Great food, friendly and very helpful service, an all-round terrific place to dine.
