LUX Steakhouse + BAR94
Our new favourite fine dining restaurant in downtown Edmonton. When our previous standby closed, we started looking for a new place. The concierge at Chateau Lacombe highly recommended LUX and we loved it. The dining room is beautiful with the tables not crowded. The service was outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable and not over-bearing. AND THE FOOD WAS SPECTACULAR. As it was our first visit, we tried many items on the menu from starters through entrees, sides (called escorts) and desserts. All accompanied by a well thought-out wine list and cocktail menu.
Definitely will visit again!
Simply perfect. Thx.
Veggies were frozen and steaks were served cold after we waited over 45 minutes after the appetizer for the mains to be delivered. Will not be back
While the food was phenomenal as far as presentation and taste goes, the serving staff left a lot to be desired. We were casually greeted by someone standing at the bar and the server was less than professional for an establishment like Lux. We ordered our drinks well in time for happy hour but were charged full price and told afterward that happy hour prices were only available at the bar even though we had asked the server about the drink specials. The menu was never explained as far as the side dishes so we were left to understand that all our sides had to be ordered extra when in reality each side was more than enough for two people. Needless to say we left with quite the leftovers. Sadly, I will not be returning and my recommendation would be to save your money and go to the Keg.
great steak although a little rare when ordering medium , otherwise great, great sides , great atmosphere, great location, great service, price is appropriate.
The service was excellent, the wait time for food was a little long. I thought the steak was a little bland but very tender. The ambience was very inviting and pleasant. As a whole, I feel the price did not match the meal received however...
Steak was over cooked, asked for mid rare came out mid well
First time here , and not impressed as this a steak house . Second steak was cooked perfect. Girlfriends meal was overcooked . Service was good, drinks were inconsistent compared to restaurants from same group. Blamed glass shortage when asked
Food & service was fantastic but totally no recognition from staff on our special occasion.
Unfortunately our waiter was very forgetful. After three reminders we ordered coffee we finally were served. This took 25 minutes. We weren’t offered a desert menu in that period of time.
We watched as one waiter and a manager stood around doing little to ensure their guests needs were taken care of.
This was our first time at Lux and for the money we anticipated better service. We won’t be returning.
Great lunch, the feature is always a good choice
The steak tartare was not good and the prices were too high
I took a client their for dinner prior to going to the Oilers game and I am very disappointed that the prime rib dinner we ordered seem to be Microwaved. We ordered medium and medium rare and got well done prime ribs. Very disappointing.
Overall the experience was good. My steak is was just Meh. I have had better at chain restaurants like Chop or Earls. Pricey for what I got.
Excellent lunch experience - good food and service
This is our favourite steak house in Edmonton and it never disappoints. The menu has been recently updated but all of our old favourites are still there. Had a great meal and wonderful service from Rena who took great care of us. Thank you folks, we look forward to our next visit
Very much enjoyed the New Years Eve special. Excellent food and service. Nice evening.
Booked LUX as a treat for new year's eve dinner for my Husband and I. We were unfortunately very disappointed. Although the food was very nice, it was incredibly overpriced. My husband had the rack of lamb, however the use of the word 'rack' is somewhat of an exaggeration as it consisted of 4 lollipop sized lamb chops and nothing else, at $49.00 it was just not worth anything close to that especially as you had to pay an extra $10.00 to $17.00 for sides, which again was not worth the cost. It was supposedly happy hour, however we were charged full price for our wine. We would not return here and if asked, would not recommend it.
Overpriced and underwhelming.
The staff were very efficient and professional, as well as personable. Unfortunately they were out of many of the items we wanted, including the California Baked potato and the bottle of wine we ordered, so that was disappointing. But the food we did get was delicious. The Artichoke dip is super rich and tasty and the steak was well cooked. It is very expensive for what you get but nice for a night out.
Arrived at 5 pm for dinner before going to the hockey game. Our food took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. Way too long.
I had taken one of my best clients and his wife here before an Oiler game. The game was at 7 pm. Our reservation was at 5.
Our server was not overly attentive. When our food finally arrived at 6:42. Our server stated “it’s the industry unfortunately”. Referring to how busy it was and the inability to come through on a timely meal. We overheard him use the same inexcusable excuse with other tables.
Additional service people are needed during the lunch hour. Service was a bit slow and a drink order was forgotten.
It took an extremely long time to get our food.
It was a nice atmosphere but the food we had ordered the appetizers and the main courses (the chicken and the ribs) lacked flavor and tasted very bland.
Food are great, but a bit overpriced for sides and drinks.
The food was ok, way better the first time we came. Took over 20 mins to get the bill. Hard to say if i would return
Awesome. Very good food. Extremely friendly server made our dinner very special. Thank you
Slow on drinks. But food was amazing!
Always great food and great service. That is why we keep coming back over and over. Thanks
Excellent food and service. Look forward to going back for dinner!
We came to Lux looking for a meal experience that involved high-quality meat. One of us ordered what was supposed to be 12 ounces of prime rib, but what was on the plate was the same size as the 6 ounce sirloin. We also had two people serving us, one seem to be a manager, and one was a server. The server was attentive and helpful and very professional. The person who appeared to be the manager gave our meals to a neighbouring table, and had to reorder all dishes, which meant that when our food came, we had to rush thru the rest of the meal in order to get to our next appointment. We weren’t terribly upset, but we were quite surprised when there was no part of the meal we ordered offered as compensation, not a drink or dessert.
Your service is always excellent! Your food is always good, we keep coming back.
Beautiful environment....beautiful staff.....excellent chef...highly recommended.....definitely revisit in the future
Our waitress was very slow, although the restaurant was not very busy. Our food came out fast and was very good.
We were there for a corporate team dinner. Food and service were both excellent.
Reserved for a business lunch for 4. Fantastic ambiance, fairly quiet for this type of restauraunt, service was excellent, menu is not too large but has good variety. Lunch menu prices are very fair as well. Couldn't have really asked for much more. I will definitely be back.
Had our anniversary supper there,
the Service was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of there wine selections. The food was great, very flavourful and nicely presented. Definitely will dine there again. 👍🏼
Great evening, wait staff was attentive, manager came over to check on us
My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Lux. We were promptly seated at a nice quiet table. The steaks were delicious- although they were out of the $99 bone-in Rib-eye... which my husband had his heart set on. He had the lollipop bone-in instead.
Local bottle of wine was disappointingly cheap, as it had no cork- something we have saved each year from our anniversary bottle.
We had green beans, onion rings, and scalloped potatoes as sides... all were OK, but nothing extraordinary. All of this could be overlooked ...but the server was extremely annoying. She was not professional and felt the need to make a comment or try to conversation every time she passed our table.
My husband and I have 5 children and were trying to enjoy a much needed intimate dinner and conversation together on our anniversary- away from the children and interruptions. The waitress would not leave us alone. There were times she even interrupted our private conversation to make comments about something that didn’t even pertain to our dinner. She still did not get the hint after a few looks and being ignored at one point. This is not something either of us expect or appreciate at a high end restaurant. In fact, it became so annoying to both of us that we did not order a second bottle of wine or dessert at LUX as we had planned on. Instead, we left as soon as we finished our dinner and went elsewhere to have dessert and evening drinks.
Food was good, steak was a great cut, but was also very salty. Less salt would have been better for flavour.
The best restaurant and restaurant in the chain. Century hospitality is great.
