We have eaten at various French restaurants in Brisbane. Lutèce was the best one by far.
I have been to Lutece a few times and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or value for money in terms of the lunch special.
I would highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit.
I thought the duck a la orange bland as it was 2 pieces of meat with peas and a few cubes of potato. Meat sure dry.

The food is good but not exceptional- quite traditional French cuisine. We tried a winter degustation menu with the matching wines - these were reasonable although the attention to detail by the waiting staff was lacking and the descriptions of the courses/wines patchy at best.
Overall we felt it was too expensive for the experience given and the lack of detailed attention to the food and wine was disappointing. I think that there quite a few options at that price point that are better and a more modern take on French cuisine woukd be welcome.
Romain and his front of house team were absolutely outstanding. We had the Canard Du Presse, which was an absolute winner with myself and partner. His attention to detail with his craft as a Maitre Canadier were reflected within his duck dishes presented to us on the evening. The FOH team we’re absolutely beautiful throughout the whole evening and couldn’t do enough to go above and beyond. The desserts were also a great addition to the evening as was the black truffle addition available to add to all savoury dishes. Would definitely travel ~200kms for Romain and his stellar duck
The first part of the degustation menu was first class as were the wines.
We then had the main course duck. Dry, shrunken, tasteless (I am not a chef but my best guess would be “way over cooked”)
Service was fantastic (apart from the incorrect bill at the end)
Wife’s comment was that she would not want to go back
