Great place to start a night off.
Excellent food in a funky restaurant with a cool vibe.
Music was upbeat and very fitting though it needed to be turned down a tiny bit.
Overall menu options and pricing for food and wine are fantastic.
Would definitely visit when in Melbourne next
The food was ok but nothing special. The dumplings didn’t taste any different to ones we have at home from the freezer. Several dishes were really spicy and didn’t say on the menu that they were.
Ambience is funky though and service good.
Unfortunately we were really disappointed after hearing such good reviews. As we don't live in Melbourne, we won't waste a night going back to see if the food could be redeemed. Overrated - pork hock was flavourless, dry - dumplings tasted exactly like the frozen prawns one we get for $5 a packet at woolies. Thank god we went to Red Spice Road the next night and were blown away, like we were expecting from LL
Tasty food and great service, although they are quite a few restaurants in Melbourne that are like this, nothing that really stands out that would get me back and not another similar restaurant in Melbourne
Fantastic evening and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine. Excellent service from our waiter Vince. Highly recommend!
I love the food here. So tasty and delicious. The staff also very friendly. They recommended a dish and I love it!
Love Lucy Liu.. Delicious food and great service!
Great ambience and good service.
Food is delicious and the chocolate orange granita dessert is amazing!
Loved the entree - kingfish, the beef in the main was a bit tough and could have been more interesting. Overall above average but losing its wow factor.
Beautiful food and ambiance
I would recommend Lucy Liu however I would not go the Let Lucy Feed Me option. I am usually a fan of this ordering option but the combination of foods that were brought out were a little strange. Ambience was awesome, beautiful looking restaurant and music choice and volume was perfect. However the service was quite poor. The maître d serving the people in front of us when we got to the restaurant was rude, we barely saw our main waiter as we had different waiting staff almost every time time we got a new dish or round of drinks. We barely caught what a certain dish consisted of at one stage as the waitress walked off halfway throughout explaining it. We therefore gave no tip at the end and was surprised to see the shocked look on our “main waiters” face even though we barely saw him. Beautiful place, nice food, but unfortunately service was a real let down.
Food was excellent, fresh and flavorsome. Wine list had a great range to choose from. Will definitely be back
Visited Lucy Liu as part of the OpenTable MFWF Express Lunch promotion - 2 courses and a drink for $40. Food was delicious! We had been warned that portions were small but we received unexpected sides - sriracha coleslaw and rice - that were both tasty and helped to bulk out the mains. Thoroughly enjoyed the flavour combinations of our pork belly, salmon and Wagyu beef dishes. The house wine was nice and the beer also complimented the meal well - we treated ourselves to an additional glass of each. The peppermint tea seems expensive for what it is and whilst such a large serving of dessert (chocolate sorbet) may work well when people are sharing, for one person it was too much and on the pricey side. We didn't have the nicest table, in the middle of the room very close to our neighbours - not usually something we would mind about but as we had mentioned we were there to celebrate a birthday we thought perhaps we would have received a better table. To be fair it was lunchtime, the restaurant was busy before quickly clearing out so Express makes sense and we feel that it was what we received in terms of service, size and value. We would recommend and would return.
Impressive restaurant with amazing food and outstanding service. Waiters offer great recommendations and are genuinely interested in ensuring you have a great experience.
First time at Lucy Liu. Tried the MFWF Restaurant Express Lunch Menu which we enjoyed very much. The pork belly and beef flank were really yummy. The kingfish sashimi was tasty but serve was very small. The barramundi was delicious but could do with more laksa sauce.
I had a late lunch so the restaurant was not as busy. The service was quick, the food and service was exceptional. No complaints only 5 stars.
We had the express lunch, unfortunately I didn’t like 2 of the 4 options. The courses I ordered were yummy and the service was good. The prices on the main menu seemed very similar so I’d definitely order from it for future visits. The venue was incredibly noisy
The food is really good but a table for less than 2 hours for dinner is unrealistic. We were rushed out the door after 1 hour 45 min and it was a table for 7 people.
Tables for 2 way too close to each other. Being tapped on shoulder by waiter to get my attention from behind not so good a way to get served. Curious questions from waiter as to what our names were I which I suspect means we were not supposed to be seated there and perhaps these were some sort of package deal tables? Bnne before and it was good but not this time. So no special experience which it should be for the price.
Our first and hopefully not our last time experiencing Lucy.
Great food, great service. Thoroughly enjoyed my night at Lucy Liu
Lucy Liu was recommended to us by a friend and it certainly met our expectations. It was by far the best meal we had in Melbourne, everything you expect in good Asian Fusion. The service too was fabulous; our waiter took great care of us and went out of his way to make sure we were content. Fast, efficient and the food totally delicious. We will definitely be back next Melbourne visit!
My daughter referred me to Lucy Liu and I can understand now, the restaurant is catered more for the young. Food was nice, but the tables are too close and overall it was too noisy. The duf duf music is not ideal especially when you eat, this time is best utilised with conversation.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone only because I don't believe my friends who are in there 50's would appreciate it.
Nevertheless food and service was something you should be proud of.
Exceptional service from our waiter and wonderful food. Would recommend this place to anyone!
Fantastic service, food, vibe, atmosphere...love love love Lucy Liu
First time dining here and wow! Delicious next level tasting food, presented brilliantly with great service in a vibrant atmosphere.
Good and tasty food
Great food, quick service. Great place for a quick, tasty meal before going to the theatre. We will be back again soon!
Brilliant best to book ahead, very busy even on a Monday night. Not for a romantic dinner as it's very noisy and vibrant. Highly recommended
We chose the 7 course menu which is great value. The selection and flavours were amazing and served at good pace. Staff was helpful and friendly without being intrusive. One thing which we would recommend is to make the 7th course a dessert to finish off a great dining experience. The 6th and 7th courses (beef and barramundi) were served simultaneously and were quite generous in terms of portion sizes. As much as we wanted to polish off those 2 beautiful dishes, we struggled to do so. The 7th course as a light dessert would have made it an outstanding dining experience. Overall, extremely happy with everything and we will definitely come back and recommend.
Hype restaurant,me and my partner went to have an early dinner Saturday night last weekend,I decided to try at Lucy Liu because of the reviews,I knew from the start that seating time for dinner was just an hour and 45minutes. Our booking was at 5:15pm,we arrived on time and lead us to our table, the service was fast but felt like you’re being rush to finish your food, the thing that was disappointing was the 1st food served was the entree,my partner was a surprised because the server just shoved the food in front of his face ,he should at least acknowledged and mentioned the food, also I’ve did mentioned the person who attended us,i’ve asked her about desserts, she told me to order after we finished our main,I might not have room for dessert,I did not order dessert because of the attitude of the staff,we like the crispy pork bun but that was it but the rest of the food was ok. We left around 6:00pm . Me and my partner won’t be coming back.
We love this place. It is now my favorite restaurant in Melbourne. Great food, excellent service and cool with a comfortable noise level.
Our waitress, Sigrid, was absolutely lovely and really made our experience great. The food was fantastic as always.
Great food friendly service as always. A definite must for those who love Asian fusion.
Amazing food! Always a favourite when in Melbourne
Great food - we just got the share plates, which was enough for 3 of us. A little expensive and noisy, which are to be expected. Would totally recommend!
It is always a pleasure to dine at Lucy Lui's. The food and service always consistent. Never changed since they opened. Friends I have recommended feel exactly the same way.
Food was great, service was very slow.
We were booked for 7.00 and didn't get served until around 7.20 and then we were told at 8.30 that we had to be out by 8.45.
Service for drinks was slow and our rice came out at the end of the meal.
Great food and great dining experience. Would highly recommended to anyone who loves Asian food.
Already can’t wait to go back.. amazing food, staff extremely helpful and nailed the quantity of food we required as a group to share.
Music and atmosphere lively but not too loud
