Lucy Liu Restaurant
Take a journey through Southeast Asian cuisine sampling hot, sour, salty and sweet plates like a Sticky Braised Pork Belly with Red Chilli and Coconut Salad or a Slow Roasted Short Rib Rendang with Turmeric Pickles and Sambal. Match these with fresh and fruity cocktails in our bar while you wait for your casual table to be ready or sit down with a Coconut Mojito on arrival. Minutes from the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and right in the heart of Melbourne Lucy Liu’s great for any occasion.
Most of the dishes were delicious. The noodle salad was way too hot for us. The barramundi and slow cooked lamb both highlights. The noise levels insane and the music ugly.
Food was great, definitely go back again. Hard to pick a favourite dish. Possibly the soft shell crab pancakes. It would be nice though to be able to stay longer than 1.45hours.
Dined here at lunch time and often I have difficulty eating out due to allergies to gluten, onion and garlic but this was not the case at Lucy Liu. The staff were very informed about the menu and were able to advise what options I could have. Happy to say the dishes required minimal alteration which was also great - they were packed with flavour instead of a bland alternative which is what I usually get. Will dine here again!
I think it is crowded seating and a quick turn around. I feel the pricing is quite high and at odds with the crowded seating and 1 hour 45 minute expectation to eat & go.
Our waiter was not very pleasant overall.
We did not get one of our dishes and when we queried that - he argued with us, saying 'you did not order that'. We couldn't believe our ears - he definitely did not subscribe to the customer is always right school! The food was delicious and it wasn't TOO noisy, although it was getting up there by the time we left.
I guess I would recommend people go there but I would mention the noise and the very obvious time constraints put on your dining.
Overall pretty good- one course had chili +++ which rather ruined the flavours and taste of wine. I’m not averse to chilies.
Lucy Liu was absolutley outstanding, we had a group of 12 and everyone had a great time.
The food and service was outstanding, the atmoshphere was absolutley fantastic, loved the music, the whole place was buzzing. We did the 7 course set menu and it was perfect, the right ammount of food, a great mix of flavours and excellent value for money, has a great wine list too.
Will definitley be back.
Service was outstanding. Only lost a few points because the rice was over cooked
Loved this food the soft shell crab pancake rolls, trout salad with crispy rice, and turmeric cauliflower were outstanding. My only disappointment was the Thai fish cakes. They did not have much flavor like I am used to eating. However the rest of the food was so great that I quickly got over any disappointment.
The wait staff we had wasn’t very patient with accomodating my food allergy... all other staff and the overall experience was great though!
Love it - would like more vege options as I've worked my way through the options to date.
Outstanding as usual. Best restaurant in Melbourne
We always visit LL when visiting Melbourne from Sydney. The food is amazing as are the staff, though it can be a bit noisy!
1 hour and 45 minutes was not enough time to enjoy the meal - we were rushed out while we were still finishing our dessert. While the food and service was good, the experience was of being a commodity - would rather go somewhere without such time pressure, so that we can enjoy the food and the experience without having to be so conscious of time
Second visit to this restaurant and we absolutely loved it once again! The food is sensational and the wine list is excellent. Will definitely return for another fabulous experience.
The soft shell crab omlette-get amongst it! Our group shared several items from the small plates with the intention of moving onto the large plates-this was not even needed! The food was sensational, with the duck pancakes and the Papaya Salad being stand outs. I will be back here again
We couldn't fault the service. Food was great, can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Loved the cocktail, had Bold and Beautiful.
Amazing entrees and drinks, great mains but really disappointing dessert. Ambiance is amazing.
We have been here before and we be back. Some dishes we tried this time were disappointing in taste. Their small sharing dishes are the way to go.
Great fusion food and great service- food showed imagination
Great service! Enthusiastic staff, great menu options, excellent bar staff who allowed us to try wines first, fun filled ambiance. Would highly recommend and next time in Melbourne will definitely be back!
Been to Lucy Liu 5-6 times now and unfortunately this is the first time I've been let down. Didn't get asked for initial drinks and then the e had the 5 dish menu and waited 30 minutes between dishes. Felt forgotten about
This is the second time I've dined at Lucy Liu, the first time for lunch. We had the Lucy Express Lunch for $28.50 a head, which I thought was exceptional value. Once again, the food was absolutely delicious, and we had a glass of beer and one of white wine, which were also very nice. The service was professional and friendly, and the food and drinks were brought to our table in a very timely manner. We left feeling very satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend Lucy Liu to our family and friends.
Great food and service. Too much choice therefore have to comeback many times to experience the food.
Great food and service. Had 5 course set banquet. Will order a la carte next time
Terrific food and service. The music felt like we were at a nightclub at 2am which made the experience less fun. Loud and full on.
My previous visit was disappointing however my friend suggested the place for express lunch menu. It was quick, tasty & not bad value. I would come again for the express lunch.
The male waiter was amazing, amazing food!! It was warm and cosy and the noise level was great.
Food was great and the atmosphere was good, we loved the fish
Great service and food. Would highly recommend Lucy Liu.
fantastic food, really interesting . beautiful flavours, well presented. would definitely come back many more times.
Thank you for making a special night more memorial. Fantastic food, great service, friendly and attentive staff. Will be returning!!
Love Lucy - great for a group of 4 - sharing food. Great cocktails, great service and super fun vibe
Excellent food & service. Staff very helpful offering suggestions on vegetarian alternatives.
Food is really well prepared and wait staff very attentive! Explained dishes well and were accommodating! Had a great time!
We had an amazing time at Lucy Liu, for us the only thing was it was hard to get a waiters attention for ordering initially and then again for more food and drinks.
Otherwise the food was outstanding, staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the ‘look’ of the restaurant.
We will be returning
Fantastic food great service and a busy happening atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We have been to Lucy Lui a few times now and have never been disappointed! It is a wonderful restaurant! Delicious food and great service, we will be back again for sure!
Loved it , can’t wait to go back for more pork buns .
