Lucy Liu Restaurant
Take a journey through Southeast Asian cuisine sampling hot, sour, salty and sweet plates like a Sticky Braised Pork Belly with Red Chilli and Coconut Salad or a Slow Roasted Short Rib Rendang with Turmeric Pickles and Sambal. Match these with fresh and fruity cocktails in our bar while you wait for your casual table to be ready or sit down with a Coconut Mojito on arrival. Minutes from the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and right in the heart of Melbourne Lucy Liu’s great for any occasion.
Great food and great dining experience. Would highly recommended to anyone who loves Asian food.
Already can’t wait to go back.. amazing food, staff extremely helpful and nailed the quantity of food we required as a group to share.
Music and atmosphere lively but not too loud
Really good service from our female waitress - and her recommendation of the tempura prawns were delicious!
Service and atmosphere was AMAZING! Took my boyfriend here for his 21st birthday celebrations and we loved the vibe of the restaurant. The only reason I did not give Lucy Liu 5 stars was because of our seating arrangement. We were seated in between 2 couples barely arms length apart. This made the experience a little less personal, it was hard to hear each other due to this. Apart from that, it was a great little nook and I would highly recommend it to a friend.
You feel very rushed there. The food comes out way too fast and it feels like they want to move you along for New people
Lucy Liu delivers modern asian fusion in a funky ambient atmosphere. The small plates are a wonderful option if you can't get a booking until 8:45pm like we did. The sashimi king fish and soft shell pancakes were our faves and the plate presentation and piquant flavours are incredible. My only gripe was my water glass was often left empty and with all the spice I needed it topped up more frequently. Our actual service waiter was great though and very knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails etc. We'll be back!
Great venue, for either a quick meal or romantic date night. Highly recommend.
Great food, service and atmosphere..Will definitely be back, and the soft crab pancakes were AMAZING!!
The food was good but very small portions and very expensive for such small portions. Our booking was for 7 people from 5.45 pm to 7.30 pm. The service was excellent until at 7.15 pm the waitress told us we had to vacate the table at 7.30 pm. We were told this at least 3 times. Our bill came to $466, very disappointing to be told 3 times we had to leave by 7.30 pm. We certainly won't be returning.
The food and service is always excellent in this stylish and welcoming restaurant. I could work my way through the entire restaurant, given half a chance. I can recommend almost everything on the menu.
Good service, great food and an all in all a great night
Delicious food, terrific friendly service, great atmosphere! Highly recommend.
Always a winner. Caters well for groups with mixed dietary requirements and staff are awesome.
Very delicious, as it always is. Fabulous service too. A must try.
Eaten here before and enjoyed it immensely. Disappointed this time. Had the calamari meal and had to search for what looked like baby octopus which I’m sure they’ll say IS calamari. Not at all what I expected. More glass noodle than anything and I did not enjoy it at all but was in company so said nothing.
Ambience was fantastic but found the food very bland and not very exciting. Very underwhelmed with the dumplings.
My wife It's like this almost every night.
He was great and the rest of the staff were too.
We decided to have the "Let Lucy Decide" (5 dishes at $58ea) menu, because we couldn't make up our minds as to what to eat. The food was delicious and it came within a reasonable time. The first 2 came together, the 3rd on its own and the 4th & 5th cam together last, although we were still enjoying the 3rd course. In the end a fantastic meal that satisfied us both.
Drinks were delivered promptly and there is plenty of choice.
I would definitely go back but it's not a place for a quiet romantic dinner, the atmosphere is vibrant but happy and I can see why its a popular eating/drinking spot.
Very good food.Very accomodating waiters.Good venue just a little loud.Definitely worth trying.
Hard to fault, great night all round
Food was delicious
Innovative dishes, well executed. Slight let down in service towards the end but overall an enjoyable evening.
I am not usually a big fan of Sashimi but the Kingfish sashimi blew me away with its delicate layers of fish and stunning dressing. Lucy Lius always manages to pack loads of flavour into pockets of food. Very attentive staff. My brother and I always meet her when he is over from New Zealand. I highly recommend
There wasn’t a dish that came to our table that wasn’t outstanding. WoW what an experience to enjoy everything from entering the place to the last spoon of dessert
When comparing to chin chin, the ‘let Lucy choose’ wasn’t as great value. The salmon was a little dry and hard to eat with plain rice. But the service was fantastic.
The best experience - staff, food, vibe !! Couldn’t recommend highly enough !!
Waiter did not write down the order. We nearly did get the wrong dish. Also they missed our rice and he to have it removed from our order.
Great service & knowledge of menu, awesome food and cool beats- bustling in a good way!
Favourite when in city
Friendly helpful staff
Ambiance lively and overall fun experience
Food was great, waiter was rude and forgot items we ordered.
Food and service were top class and very funky venue!
Every dish served was absolutely delicious
Great week of AO
Fantastic meal - we loved the express lunch menu, great value. The kimchi fried rice particularly delicious!
Ever since a friend insisted that we go to Lucy Liu's while in Melbourne at a conference, I have been excited to return. It didn't disappoint. The staff are amazing and really make you feel like a regular. The food is AMAZING!! We live 4 hours away from Melbourne but I will be looking for excuses to get down to the city more often.
LL is a reliably good restaurant. Consistently great food, vibrant ambience and relaxed vibe. We are now regular diners there. Highly recommended.
Our family party of 6 were very excited to go to this restaurant as it was our fist time and it was for a birthday celebration. When we arrived for our booking our table wasn't ready so we were asked to get a drink at the bar, which is fine except we couldn't get to the bar because of a backlog of people also doing the same . Not a great start to our experience. When we did get served at the bar, the waiter made only half our drinks and then started serving someone else. When we stated that to the other barman, he said "well he is really busy". Not good enough! He eventually finished our order and our tale was then ready. The service and food was very good, except when the dishes came out, a few times the dishes were explained and a couple of other times the waitress just put it down in a very quick manner without explanation . We eat out often in very good restaurants, we were disappointed that maybe Lucy Lui was going to become another popular restaurant that loses its way, which we have seen happen at other sought after restaurants. I realise it was a busy time of the year with the tennis, but that's not really any excuse.
My husband and I had dinner at Lucy Liu on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it - the service was excellent, the food outstanding (particularly the pork hock and dessert) and lively atmosphere.
Awesome!!!! Lovely food and great service!!!!! A very enjoyable evening!
Food was great and our waitress was amazing, she ordered for us and did a great job
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here. Dishes good. Some great. Service attentive but not not pushy. Good ambience. Prices fair. Would definitely go again. Recommend as visit.
We loved this place. Feels good, the service is superior and food is lovely. Its a 5 Star place.
