Lucy Liu Restaurant
Take a journey through Southeast Asian cuisine sampling hot, sour, salty and sweet plates like a Sticky Braised Pork Belly with Red Chilli and Coconut Salad or a Slow Roasted Short Rib Rendang with Turmeric Pickles and Sambal. Match these with fresh and fruity cocktails in our bar while you wait for your casual table to be ready or sit down with a Coconut Mojito on arrival. Minutes from the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and right in the heart of Melbourne Lucy Liu’s great for any occasion.
We went for the 7 plates. Everything great apart from the fried chicken
Thoroughly enjoy the food here - have been back on a number of occasions!
Introduced my friends who had never been before and they loved it!
Love Lucy Lui! It was the first time for my friends and they loved it too.
Sensational fresh and flavoursome food presented promptly and very aesthetically pleasing.
Great accompanying wines.
Loved the playlist.
I just love going to Lucy Liu. It is one of my favorite restaurants in Melbourne.
Amazing food, very accommodating to dietary requirements and great service!
We've dined at Lucy Lui's a number of times. It never fails to impress!
Great place for food atmosphere and service
The food was outstanding but the service was not great. Would return for another go though. The waiter was somewhat helpful but seemed impatient with us. With as unique a menu as they have, we would have appreciated a bit more kindness. Everything was tasty though.
Fantastic food, highly recommended restaurant if you are visiting Melbourne. Favourite dish was the soft shell crab pancakes, closely followed by the tempura eggplant and prawn dish. Make sure you book as the restaurant can be very busy.
A great spot for a large group of 20. The banquet of 5 courses was perfect, delicious and we all enjoyed it along with the cocktails, wine and service.
Food was rather over priced for the portion sizes, taste was good. The service was aggressive and annoying to a degree, at times felt uncomfortable and could not maintain a conversation due to over-aggressive service.
Sequencing of our meal a bit odd - we had all the meat items come first which meant our vegetarian friend had no food, then there was a period where we only had bokchoi and rice on the table (the sides) for 25 mins with out their accompanying mains!
Amazing food, knowledgeable waitress and funky atmosphere!
The food was incredible but the service was arrogant and not very welcoming/friendly.
Had a great lunch out with the girls, and everyone thought it was delicious!
Great service, great food and an awesome atmosphere all you want to start off your night..
I am a repeat visitor to Lucy Liu which never disappoints. The food is fabulous and the service is professional. Ambience is good. Only negative is that the tables are too close together which makes it a little difficult to have a private conversation. I will be back.
I can never fault dinner or drinks here! Service and staff are always excellent too.
The food was very tasty with a good selection and the wine, both sparkling and red was lovely. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.
Consistently great food, amazing attentive staff and perfect ambiance.
Did the 5 course set menu and there was not enough food
We enjoyed our evening, although our table wasn’t ready at 7.30 then less than 2 hours I go our booking they said they needed the table. I understand it’s busy but it’s not ideal to be asked to finish your meal & wine.
From the friendly staff at the entrance to the final bill the experience was such a great one . Really tasty food and not stingy with portion size made share plates a good option for the four of us . Very happy and will be back again for sure .
The girl that showed my guest and I to our table seemed very disinterested in showing any hospitality to us when we were giving the details of our booking and then showing us to our seat. No explanation or welcome whatsoever. Once we arrived at our table she walked off and left us to grab someone else’s attention for the food and drinks menus. The next gentleman that then attended to us to ask if we wanted to order drinks again seemed very disinterested and bored explaining what the special wine house blend was and couldn’t care less to what we then chose to order. It was only when we were served by another gentleman that we had excellent table service. Sadly I think the food is quite average compared to other Melbourne restaurants offering a similar cuisine but I’d only perhaps return to try a dessert. Sorry Lucy Liu but the first impression for two first timers to your restaurant was not good.
Lucy Lui is consistent which is why I return when in Melbourne, keep up the good work
Excellent service and good! The alley was great as well!
Absolutely love Lucy Liu - food is amazing and service superb. Whenever we are in Melbourne we try to go for a meal
Lovely light celebratory brunch. Loved the chefs choices.
As always, we found the food to be absolutely wonderful - so many different flavours and the cost very reasonable. Wine prices by the glass were also very reasonable. Our overall experience though was soured by our waitress who was very abrupt and at times rude - certainly she made no effort to make our dining experience a memorable one. We also found the music to be quite loud. Finally it was also very warm inside the restaurant - little to no air-conditioning and they jammed everyone in the back half of the restaurant where it was undoubtedly warmer so that the front half of the restaurant where the windows are looking out onto the street and it was cooler were left free. Undoubtedly this was to give the impression to passers by that there were spare seats inside. For the first part of the meal despite there being ample alternate seats, we were seated next to a family with very young children which was also an initial distraction. Overall food and wine excellent but it was not an enjoyable dining experience.
Went there for lunch and it was our first time. We were the only ones there as it was raining hard outside. Had I not asked about the express lunch, the server wouldn’t have given us the express lunch menu. It wasn’t also explained to us that the drinks included in the express lunch was only limited to house wine. We ordered mocktails thinking it was free, but not. Not happy.
Delicious food, helpful and efficient staff. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back again!
We were recommended to drink a glass of champagne that cost $22 each absolute rip-off The food was mediocre and overpriced
The food was really good. For a restaurant of its caliber the service fell short. Staff had a bit of an attitude when we made simple requests such as ice for our water as it was very hot in the restaurant. Would expect above level service from a place like this
The food selection was great! The food we ordered was really yummy and came out quickly. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. Atmosphere was great, music was at a level where you could talk and not have to shout - winning!
Fabulous staff and a lovely atmosphere, but I felt like every dish was doused in sugar. I had to stop eating, not because I was overly full, but because I was tired of the sugar, particularly in the sauces. I think that for the cost of the meal, there are better ways to add taste to the food. I'd expect loading food with sugar for taste at McDonald's, but at this cost - I expect tasty ingredients instead. I'll certainly be spending my money elsewhere next time.
Attended on a busy Friday lunch. We received great service and recommendations about the menu. The Food was very good with a good overall experience.
Great atmosphere, interesting cocktails and tasty food. Our waitress Caitlin was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble . We had a terrific night.
Lucy Liu is NEVER a bad idea! Love it every time l go. Thanks for giving me amazing memories, food & killer Martini’s x
If I could give a higher score than 5 for service, i would! And the food was amazing. Kingfish Sashimi is definitely the signature dish.
