Lucy Liu Restaurant
Take a journey through Southeast Asian cuisine sampling hot, sour, salty and sweet plates like a Sticky Braised Pork Belly with Red Chilli and Coconut Salad or a Slow Roasted Short Rib Rendang with Turmeric Pickles and Sambal. Match these with fresh and fruity cocktails in our bar while you wait for your casual table to be ready or sit down with a Coconut Mojito on arrival. Minutes from the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and right in the heart of Melbourne Lucy Liu’s great for any occasion.
Absolutely delicious good that was served by attentive but not pushy or annoying staff. We got some suggestions on menu items and how much we should order and our ordering was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
Food and ambience really good! Especially liked soft shell crab pancake, kingfish sashimi! Spicy chicken ribs, crispy pork pancake, tossed asian greens are very good too! Betty is vey attentive, and has given 7s excellent recommendations! My table was 11am on a Saturday, not many diners around, hence can't comment on the noise level.
We loved the food and service at Lucy Liu and would absolutely recommend!
Love it, always a favorite. Soft shell crab pancakes and kingfish sashimi my go to.
Immersed in the menu. Your property catering for odd group #s. My group totally enjoyed the experience. I will return
Great venue, food and service. A little pricey but you’ll not be disappointed.
Good Asian fusion restaurant. Don’t be put off by the back street entrance past the bin store!! V quick and efficient service.
Service from the minute you walk in.
Everything and everyone above and beyond expectations.
Loved the food specially the yellow tuna sashimi always delicious, but the service was outstanding. The girl that was attending to us was just fantastic. So once again we had great experiance snd yes i amost forgot cocktails were great as well.
Absolutely LOVED the food and atmosphere. Our waiter was great until we asked for the check. He came across a bit rude and we tipped him almost $50 and we didn’t even get a thank you.
Overall great night just let down at the end slightly.
I love Lucy liu . I live in Sydney and whenever I visit Melbourne I book dinner there. However, This was the first time we were kicked out after an hour and 45 minutes. We spent $300 for 3 of us and after an hour and a half were told we were about to be booted out. That's very extreme. We felt bullied and extorted. It's the only expensive restaurant I've been to that doesn't have two hour sittings. This has put me off going there again or continuing top recommend it, which is a shame because it's an awesome place but those short times make it too functional to really enjoy for a night out
Food was absolutely incredible as always. Every dish that comes out is delicious and unique. The kingfish sashimi, soft shell crab roll and sichuan duck main are the best. Had a great night with friends. I do find the music too loud though, it's hard to have a conversation. And our waitress wasn't the best - was quite vague and forgot some of our orders.
Magnificent fresh tasty food. Great options from beginning to end
Food was worth the money, absolutely amazing.
My only grievance was as the tables are fairly close together that perhaps it's worth placing bag hooks under the tables so that handbags aren't sitting on the floor getting tangled around people's feet.
Never fails to impress. Friendly informed service and fantastic menu. The only issue is deciding what to order. A definite must when in Melbourne
Chicken ribs and chicken bun are a must. Great service and the most amazing food. Been here a number of times and the food always lives up to the hype.
Great food and excellent service. We tried a few things- The pork belly entree was my favourite. Would definitely recommend.
From the minute we walked in we loved it. The staff were pros. The food was sensational. Vibrant atmosphere. Will be back.
House music was a tad too noisy.
Aahhhhhmazing!!! We had the best night, the food was amazing the staff were so helpful, friendly and will Be recommend to my friends and family!!
The noise levels at Lucy Lui are always just a little too loud for comfortable conversation. Everything else is great.
Very nice atmosphere and outstanding good food.
The food is exceptional and such interesting flavours. The staff are friendly and are just fabulous!!
Amazing food and great fit-out. Liked the food choices and options. Drink menu had plenty of choice and the Lucy Liu wines were a great idea. Some dishes weren’t explained when placed on table but other than that it was an amazing experience
Loved it aside feom slightly too loud music at lunch time
music was too laud and repetitive actually quite annoying. the waiting in between dishes was too long, so much that by the time the main came we were not even hungry anymore.
Food was yummy
Great service and food! My favourite as always is the beetle leaf with kingfish and tuna, kids loved the pork buns!
Every time we are in Melbourne we book a table at Lucy Liu’s because everything about our experience is amazing and we build great memories of wonderful food. They readily cater for all my allergy requirements and never make it an issue. The ambience is awesome and we always leave feeling satisfied and our appetites replete.
We loved the food recommendations especially the Jianbing pancake roll!
Wonderful food and service - absolutely a notch above anything else in town.
As much as I always enjoy the food at Lucy Liu, this time the experience was tainted by being rushed. The food was brought out far to quickly with with all our plates for 2 people sitting there within 10 minutes. We go to restaurants such as Lucy Liu to appreciate each dish, enjoy the atmosphere and wine and have a night out to socialise. To be done within an hour for over $200 is not what I call a night out.
Portions to small however tasty spent around $80/head and still hungry otherwise a great place for a cocktail
Can't fault the food, we loved every mouthful and we'll return! Our only disappointment was how fast everything came out - we felt so rushed and unable to truly savour our food. There was no room on the table to simply take our time. In future we will order as we want our plates, not all at the start of the night.
Took a little while to get seated but overall they had great service and amazing food. Would definitely go again.
We enjoyed our meal but would have preferred that the music was a bit lower. Service was OK but I didn't think that the staff were particularly switched on - we had to wait 25 mins for our table and were told that we had to be out 1 hour and 45 mins from our booking time. We knew that the tables had a set time on them but it was a bit rude to be told that we would have 25 mins cut from our allocation due to the restaurant's management of earlier bookings. This was settled by the wait staff asking management with the final response being that we could stay as long as we liked. If the staff had been efficient and empowered, this would not have been necessary.
Great food , cool place and friendly staff.
Reasonably priced .Will definitely be back again !
Once we’d finished our food we weren’t offered anymore drinks even though we sat there for at least half an hour with empty glasses and waiters came to clear the table. This isn’t the first time we’ve felt as though once our food was finished we were expected to leave straight away. Also had to ask for the bill even though they clearly wanted us to leave?
We were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful lunch. Staff were super-friendly and informative.
Always great food atmosphere and service!
Everything was wonderful, waitress sounded a bit rude and like she was tired and didn’t want to be nice.
