Lucky Penny Cafe at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa
A small but varied menu, friendly service, attractive decor with lots of space between tables.
Overall give them a 3/5 we just ordered a couple things. Shrimp cocktail, chicken Caesar and bacon. I think they had to go catch the chicken because by the time we got our food the chicken was so salty we had to down so water to get it down. The interesting part was it was only salty on the bottom no seasoning on top. No big deal we just didn’t finish it. Some of the lettuce was brown. Whatever it happens. I ordered a Bloody Mary and I guess their specialty is what I got. It had a weird bacon ball at the bottom that I wasn’t prepared for. I’ll skip it next time.
Food not to good, hash browns burnt on outside tasteless inside, bacon dry been sitting under heat light way to long, eggs over cooked, coffee like water
Only place to get breakfast, would expect better food at the red rock
Great service, food was delicious.
Restaurant was very clean.
Love this place for breakfast but they really need to change the checkin process. Weekends are busy and to have reservations and still need to wait in line with everyone who doesn’t is silly. Should have separate line for reservations and call ups who have their turn called. Common sense solution!
Like going to Lucky Penny at Red Rock. Food is usually top notch. Love the Seafood Bread Bowl but wish they would stock up more Prime Rib. It seems to always be sold out by the time I can get there which is waaayyy b4 the 11PM end time.
Cafe is handy when you’re at Red Rock Casino and bakery case looks scrumptious but have to say after 5 visits and trying something different each time, I’ll stick to plain eggs & bacon for breakfast and a hamburger other times. Each entree I’ve ordered (& the breakfast prime rib hash) sounded & looked great but taste-wise, just ok. Service has always been good and I like you can make a reservation in advance.
Definitely recommend booking ahead of time since every time we came before a reservation our wait time was 30-40 min. Our waitress was kind and was up front on the quality of food and recommendations. Our drinks were amazing, food came fast and the dessert was just oh so delicious! No too loud, nice ambience and very very clean. This is our go to place for breakfast !
Food was good, with a nice variety of omelets.
Fruit cup is really tasty.
The Server that took to our breakfast order and needs on 06/28/21 was very courteous, friendly and provided excellent Service.
I believe her name is Doeana.
Deborah was a great server.
We had breakfast. The service was terrific as was the food. The portion size for their All American breakfast is huge.
Still a good place for a burger and fries. Seems they want their entrees to be "fine dining" type meals. Would rather see items like open face turkey/beef sandwiches. Their turkey club is a huge sandwich cut in half, not in quarters like normal club sandwiches.
Lots of excellent choices
Service very friendly
Cashier seemed overwhelmed
We really enjoyed our breakfast
We will return
Menu lacks good food choices. No lighter fare or senior menu.
Hash browns were so greasy and burned my husband couldn't eat them, had to send them back and exchange for fruit.
The breakfast is good, and plentiful, with options.
Service is great, from the busboys to the waitstaff.
We have eaten breakfast here before and enjoyed it. This time the eggs were over cooked and they used the wrong cheese on the grilled cheese pancakes
Stopped in after the ballgame for a small bite. We made our reservation on time (11:00 pm), and there were not too many people seated eating. Somehow, we were seated next to a table of two ladies and all their kids (and toys and strollers) that they let run rampant. Most everyone in that area kept looking at the behavior of those kids, with the moms just having their coffee. While I know that it is not Lucky Penny's fault that the disruptive party was there, we could have been seated elsewhere in the restaurant. The food was good, as usual. It just seemed that our server, would rather have been anywhere else. We had asked for extra condiments and were given the response, "I already gave you some." The manager was wonderful as we watched her stop at every table, asking each table if everything was good.
Like I said, the food was good, and I hoped we could have been seated elsewhere, but I also hope that our server was having just an off night. We will be back.
Great food and service once inside. Had to take off a star because I feel like I have to fight to get attention to my reservation (if early I’m told to wait for a text that doesn’t always come, so then it’s back in the queue to try again).
There’s a patio to eat outside which is very pleasant for mornings. The food was good with the usual breakfast fare. The server was very nice.
The food was so over salted! Chicken soup -over salted, chicken in it dry and tough. Turkey dinner-cranberry sauce and turkey were good. String beans overcooked. Mashed potatoes too salty! Will not return. Second bad meal in a row
One word-DISGUSTING! Ordered calamari, 5-6 strips for $12.99?? prime rib dip-1st attempt hard bread, cold fries (sat in the kitchen window) 2nd attempt-ALL FAT. Get it together!!
You got rid of the specials, raised your prices, but still use low quality food and serve poor quality.
Dinner options are minimal with no light dining or senior options.
We all ordered breakfast and my husband's hash browns were not only burned, they were lying in a pool of grease un-edible to say the least!
OPEN THE BUFFET BACK UP or improve the cafe menu!!
Fantastic service and food, as always 😃
Decent wine and tasty food. Turkey dinner was huge.
Went for early dinner before seeing the Bon Jovi concert movie.
The panini grilled cheese is a fav of mine.
Although some of the food was served barely lukewarm, we still liked the experience. Also, the turkey was cut into thick slabs - turkey should be sliced thinner. Attractive decor and friendly service.
We enjoy the Lucky Penny’s food and ambiance. We ordered the large cut, prime rib. Sadly, it was very fatty on the outside of thee end cut, thereby reducing the size/weight of the piece of meat reducing the meal’s value a bit...
Keep up the good work!
The newest menu has eliminated some basic easy items, such as a BLT. Also, "where's the beef?" I realize there is a limit to the number of entree's can be on a menu but the "beef on weck" from a few months ago was very good.
breakfast was really worth the price and all the staff (bus people, servers, cashiers ,greeters etc) were all very helpful & friendly. we love eating here at the Lucky Penny.
The food was delicious and serving sizes huge. Some unusual options enjoyed like the ratatouille frittatas. Will definitely try again.
Healthy breakfast choices available. Be sure to make reservations if your going for breakfast. It gets filled fast due to covid precautions.
GREAT PLACE FOR BREAKFAST!! The American is fantastic.
Me and my wife normally have an exceptional dining experience here and this time was no exception. Since our last visit the name has changed as well as the menu. This is where my one issue lies. The menu has been slimmed down to what appears to be bare minimum with nearly less than half of the choices before everything changed over. We found ourselves settling for menu items that were different our normally anticipated favorites from before. Upon consumption of what we did order, for the first time ever, I was not pleased with the blandness of the prime rib that I ordered which is normally full of flavor. I really had high hopes for the changeover but unfortunately for us the menu does not live up to our expectations. On a plus note, the service and value has been amazing and this time was no exception.
We had the seafood chowder bread bowl, southwest wedge, pastrami reuben, a house salad, Philly cheesesteak, and the prime rib dip. It was all very good and great portions too! Service was a little busy, but they were still friendly and attentive, it was a busy Friday night. Would recommend and we will go back.
we are regulars there and love the overall quality and pricing.
We had burgers which were very good and cooked rare as asked for. This is the second restaurant we've tried at Red Rocks. I'd recommend it for lunch or a light dinner.
