love.fish - Barangaroo
Even the bar gets the love.fish philosophy - with a real focus on locally sourced, organic wines and a completely Australian back bar."
We went back to this restaurant as we enjoyed it immensely back in January. This time , however, we were disappointed. The service was slow despite a holiday surcharge on the long weekend and the food was below expectations. The entrees of calamari & octopus were fine but the squid ink crab linguine was quite dry and tasteless with hardly any crab. We will still return to this restaurant as it has a nice ambience, is kid friendly and in a good location for meeting up with friends and visitors staying in the city.
Love.fish not only has a great feel to it, but the food is amazing - from presentation to taste.
This is the 2nd time we have been to Love Fish. Everyone enjoyed their food, good sized servings, great shoestring fries. Had entrees and mains, couldn't fit in desserts. Wait staff very helpful and attentive.
Fresh seafood and great service received. Also, it was kid friendly.
Waitress was keen to take away menu card before we can choose our menu. Also, I never has seen serving main course without any side. Fish without chips! Very surprised!
I ordered an entree: whitebait crispy, it never came.
I asked the chinese male waiter twice why I did not get my whitebait crispy, he kept pointing to my main meal (which was white bait fillet set with seafood soup.) I asked him to check witgh the waitress who took my order, he said that was all that I ordered.
Yet when I paid the bill, I was charged for the entree ( 4 items, but I received only 3 items : my sister's main, my set meal and one green bean as veg). We paid $91/- but we were served 3 dishes that amounted to only about $70+ ( $35+$25+10=$70).
Great experience - fresh food and good value for money
Gorgeous food and service. If you like fish and wine and cocktails in a gorgeous and casual or smart atmosphere then go here. I would go again and again.
The service here was friendly and outstanding. The wine list was good and the staff gave us good advice about wines we did not know. The choices for fish main courses were a bit limited but the food was good.
Always a wonderful spot for lunch especially in the lovely Autumn weather.
Quick and reliable service. Quality seafood cooked well.
The food was good quality , but the plate of whiting sand flathead felt like what I would get from a fish & chip shop not what I would expect in a restaurant. The plate was missing something. The vegetarian option we picked ( tomato and spinach leaves ) was zero value for money .
Everything was good, but spoilt by the ever-pervading background noise. A pity that some form of noise absorbing material isn’t used to minimise this.....
Seafood isn't fresh and overcooked each time I've been there. Was extremely disappointed with the Scampi, Scallops, Crab Linguine, Salmon, Oysters as none of them were fresh
However the setting is very nice and service is a 10/10. Long island ice tea was good too
Food is well cooked. Good wine list. Felt as we were part of a production line in a food hall. Good setting.
Great food wonderful service sadly the weather prevailed and it was cold and windy, the blankets helped but it didn’t spoil the food. Perhaps next time the weather will be kinder.
Had a wonderful night.
Food amazing! Service outstanding.
Great food, great service, great location. This deserves to be a favorite & regular destination for seafood. And OMG you can also Take Away.
I probably would recommend it, only because of the location and it's the only fish restaruant at Barangaroo. If there were a competing restaurant, I'd definitely try it because love.fish is really only an average restaurant.
All the fish meals which we ordered literally just came with the fish, no salads no side servings nothing! Lucky we had entrees and ordered beans, salad and potatoes with out mains. The Instagram page was very misleading as the pictures resembled nothing we ordered. Very disappointing. 4 hungry customers arrived and 4 hungry customers left.
Food was excellent. We went on a Friday lunchtime which apparently is very busy (& noisy) so would choose a different day next time.
HIghly recommend the food.
I always enjoy going there and take my friends. I an glad to see a few changes in the menu, as I go there often.. the staff is friendly, the food lovely and fresh and always enjoy the ambience. My only criticism is the wine list is a little pricey. I would suggest a wider range of wine, ranging from no more than $38.00
Cool place, love the Barangaroo area! Food was lovely, staff were very friendly, only blemish was the wait times for food. Otherwise couldn't complain!!
For people who have strict dietary requirements, this is a favourite and often requested. Food quality is fresh and delicious.
Great food fantastic service and great location,
Would be nice to have beer that wasn’t the wanky craft beer.
I know it’s cool and hip but it tastes like crap.
Nice import would do Corona, Heineken etc.
Other than that loved it!
Ordered my salmon well done, when it came out it was still raw in the middle. I asked them for it to be well done, when my salmon was returned to the table the skin was soft and it had clearly been microwaved (edges were dried) - Still wasn't cooked all the way through.
Service was also very poor, our waitress was hardly seen. We had finished our meals and the plates stayed on our table for at least another 45mins until we asked for the bill.
Excellent seafood option in Barangaroo. Oysters were amazing!
This has been a regular place for special occasions but it was a little underwhelming on Saturday and we will think twice prior to heading back. My meal was one of the specials and just wasn’t up to the usual standard with some ingredients appearing to be used very sparingly.
I loved fish ex Rozelle. Intimate restaurant. At Bangaroo it's lucky with all other restaurants either side of you can hear your fellow diner! Seafood basket for 2 was fresh. Prawns/lobster good. Oysters good. Would have loved to see other fish in basket ie some flathead would have been nice in sardines. Overall okay but wouldn't have this particular item but would do fish!
Difficult to find but worth the effort! Fresh and tender fish, great sides, good range of wines at reasonable prices.
Everything was fantastic, but overall a little overpriced (especially the alcohol)
Both the food and the service were excellent. While the restaurant was busy it is not too noisy.
love.fish is a great place to enjoy delicious fresh fish. We had the seafood platter between three of us and it was delicious! The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a great lunch! It was our second visit and we'll definitely be back again!
Great food and service; this has been consistent over three visits.
Excellent will definitely be coming back to Love Fish.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at love.fish. We arrived 30 minutes early however this was no issue. The food was fantastic and very flavoursome. The timing of each course was perfect. Service was excellent and a great ambience
Great night, great food, great service. I have already recommended Lovefish to most of my friends and look forward to dinning there again.
I like that this place is one of the less fine dining style options in Barangaroo. The food is great but the service is truly patchy. For example, one of the waiters who couldn't hear me well (because it was getting quite loud in the restaurant) didn't bother to come round to my side of the table, choosing instead to lean over the other person I was dining with to ask me what I said. I asked if they could make up a non-alcoholic cocktail, (yes a mocktail) and waiter had clearly no idea what I meant and had to return with more senior wait staff (which is a good thing but weird to have such a simple request not understood). A few other incidents like this the whole night just made it feel like amateur hour - this actually takes away from the work of chefs and the good food they are putting up.
Birthday lunch. We had a lovely time!
Great food, great vibe!..service was quick and very attentive waiters. Probably a little pricey but worth it
Overall, everything was very nice and we had a very enjoyable time. My only “complaint” was the size of my fish portion. My friend ordered the same fish, but her portion was much larger than mine!
