Lotus Galeries Ratings and Reviews
The food is delightful and the service is excellent.
Must have dishes:
* Steamed pork xiao long bao dumplings
* Rush-smoked salmon with apple, Vietnamese mint, ginger and lemon - (This is my absolute favorite)
I have been here on several occasions for work, birthdays and casual dinning and they never disappoint.
I highly recommend Lotus @ The Galeries
The food, service and drinks were all great. Booking team was very helpful when we needed to change numbers. The only issue I have is the 10% service charge on groups of more than 8. The service charge does not appear to go to the staff, so adding a tip is polite, especially with messy kids. In my opinion, the service charge is unjustified. I would eat here again, but only with less than 8 people. Take your birthday party and other group celebrations elsewhere.
I took my VIP client out for lunch at the Lotus given its reputation and location. The restaurant environment is good, very up market and contemporary, booking was easy via their online system. The greetings and seating were friendly and polite as it should be. As soon as we sat down, the staff came and suggested a plate of sushi while we were looking at the menu. I didn't have a chance to say no, I do think this was inappropriate as it's quite pushy. Nevermind the expensive dish as a start, the duck we ordered was over cooked and dry, the second round of our dishes came late after we sent a reminder to the staff. That worse, our steam fish was also over cooked and tasted rubbery, truly disappointed as it was suppose to be the highlight of the lunch. Overall, this is a good place for atmosphere but not great for food especially not for the real Chinese food.
Brought my parents who are living overseas for a meal at the restaurant. The food was great and they enjoyed it but the lighting at the restaurant was terrible. The lighting was so bad where we were seated and that made it extremely hard to read the menu. When asked about the lighting, we were given a nonchalant answer. This has not deterred our dining experience but would like the restaurant to improve the lighting where possible.
It was both our first time eating at Lotus. The ambiance was good. Service was attentive and quick. Yummy dumplings and the pork belly main was beautiful. Overall, a very enjoyable evening.
The only negative would be the king prawn main we ordered for $38 and only 6 prawns. Did not feel it was work the price tag.
The vibes and service in Lotus dining are excellent. I am a frequent customer in lotus since the restaurant opened. I had tried the lunch, dinner to afternoon tea. However, it comes to my notice that the taste of the food isn't as good as before.
Not sure if we had ordered the wrong dishes the other day but I might not gonna order the same dishes again. The fries eggplants aren't tasted very good and it's not presentable at all. The source of the steam fish will be better if it is lighter.
Overall I do recommend this restaurant. Great location, great internal design, and service were excellent. It is a great place to hang out with friends and host a function but be careful with what u order. DO NOT ORDER FREIES EGGPLANT.
Last year I booked out the private room for a birthday dinner with 20 people and it was just incredible. The service, food, everything. I just can't recommend it highly enough.
The food is just incredibly fresh and tasty. I've never been to a restaurant where people fight to get their hands on the sharing plates. Usually everyone offers the last piece. Here everyone wants it for themselves.
I booked for 6 of us last week and once again it was just as incredible. We arrived at 8:40pm with last hot food kitchen orders by 9pm. They promptly took our orders and the food was out in minutes.
Everyone loved it and this will be my city go-to for quite some time.
Great place to catch up with friends from various parts of the Sydney environs - central location and adjacent to Town Hall Train Station. Food and service was excellent, only downside it got very noisy once the restaurant filled up with lunch time diners and hard to chat across the table!
The dumplings never let you down. The xiao long bao are delicious.
Mung bean salad is a must try. Subtle flavours and light. We didn't enjoy the Sichuan eggplant and the manager happily took that off from the bill.
For mains we had the kung pao chicken with steamed seasonal greens- flavourful, chicken wasn't fried so the dish wasn't heavy and a healthier option.
Their version of bounty - coconut slice with black sesame is not to be missed - truly divine.
Very friendly staff. The manager, Macy, was very cheerful, resourceful and friendly. Adds to the dining experience.
Great venue for a lunch or dinner catch-up. Dumplings were nice but the steamed fish was the outstanding dish from the items we tried. Excellent service - friendly and efficient; many other establishments could learn a thing or two from Lotus Galeries on this point.
