Longhorn smokehouse is new restaurant located within Wrest Point.

We’re taking a modern approach to the traditional flavours and ‘low and slow method’ of Southern American BBQ. Sink your teeth into the best grilled, smoked, and baked meats, sourced from the finest local producers. All against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent.

In other words, it’s your classic American smokehouse, done the Tasmanian way.

Absolutely fantastic and fast service, the waiters were very friendly and polite, the food was excellent and incredible and the noise level was peaceful and enjoyable

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Longhorn. The steak was cooked perfectly and ribs were delicious. Sides and sauces were also fantastic. Service was quick and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

A very nice atmosphere but unfortunately service was slow and food didn’t reach the expected quality for its price point.

Our son chose this restaurant for his 18th Birthday celebration. He had wanted to dine at the revolving restaurant but the menu there did not appeal to him. It was just a small party - family and his best friend - but the staff were very attentive and made him feel very special; even singing happy birthday to him as dessert was served. The whole party enjoyed their food which was plentiful without a long wait, and we liked the ambiance as it didn’t feel overcrowded although I’m sure it’s probably busier on Friday and Saturday evenings. We were quietly impressed and will definitely be returning.

If melt in your mouth steak is what you want then this is the place to go. You get what you pay for. Service was great in a very relaxing environment

Came for my 40th. Had 2 big tables and the staff looked after us wonderfully. Glenda and team were so lovely. Food was brilliant, huge portions. We had the set menu and there was so much food.. Left feeling very merry. Great, moody venue too. Highly recommend.
